One year ago, it was announced that the Netflix streaming service had renewed the serial killer thriller series You for a fifth season, which will also be the final one. While executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter said that You was always intended to be a “five season journey”, showrunner Sera Gamble decided not to guide the journey to its conclusion. Although she remains attached as an executive producer, she has passed showrunner duties over to fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. Thankfully, Foley and Lo are no strangers to You. They have been working on the series since season 1 and season 2, respectively. Now You season 5 is gearing up for production, and Deadline reports that Madeline Brewer – whose credits include The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange Is the New Black, and the horror film Cam – has joined the cast.

Sony Pictures has released a brand new trailer for an upcoming horror flick titled "Tarot." This one was originally going under the title "Horrorscope," but the powers that be decided to be a little more straightforward about what's happening here. Yes, it's about deadly tarot cards and, based on the trailer, it looks very much like what one might expect from a horror movie about deadly tarot cards. Check it out for yourself above.
The footage doesn't give away too much by way of story specifics. It focuses more on the gimmick, which is that this possessed tarot card deck unleashes various deadly beings on its unsuspecting victims. It is also pretty heavy on the jump scares for those who are into that sort of thing. It appears to be cut from the same cloth as 2014's "Ouija." Whether or not that's a good or a bad thing is up...

One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings.
This one looks like a fairly generic teen horror movie, but the concept could at least allow for a fun array of supernatural entities – several of which are glimpsed in this first trailer.
Update: Artist Trevor Henderson has revealed that he designed the monsters for this movie! Henderson tweets, “I was asked to be the sole designer of the eight different monsters in this movie!!” He also notes, “All of my favourites of the designs are only hinted at.”

Alloy Entertainment has long been the equivalent of a Queen Bee in the world of young adult TV and books. But big changes in the TV market in particular have driven the Warner Bros.-owned imprint to look beyond teens and twentysomethings for new audience cliques.
On the latest episode of Variety podcast “Strictly Business,” Alloy CEO Leslie Morgenstein, TV chief Gina Girolamo and film head Elysa Koplovitz Dutton discuss the company’s nontraditional approach to developing TV shows, movies and books. Alloy was built over the past 30-plus years on the success of YA book series such as “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “Gossip Girl.” But the demand curve has changed in recent years.

Earlier this year, Sony / Screen Gems announced that they would be giving the horror film Horrorscope a theatrical release on June 28, 2024. But in late October, Paramount announced that they were moving A Quiet Place: Day One from its previously announced March 8, 2024 release date to June 28. So it’s no surprise to hear (via Borys Kit) that Screen Gems has decided to shift Horrorscope forward to May 10th. Thanks to A Quiet Place: Day One, we’re going to see Horrorscope a month earlier.

When you look at Adam Sandler’s filmography, you might either think outrageous comedy or some seriously impressive dramatic turns in movies like Punch Drunk Love, Uncut Gems and Hustle. But for his latest Netflix flick, he is taking a back seat on camera by basically playing the beleaguered dad to his real-life daughters Sadie and Sunny Sandler, all in fictionalized roles but nevertheless all still in the family. Sandler’s real influence in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah is as a producer, and in this instance he has brought forward the right creative elements to make this adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s YA book a complete delight.
It doesn’t break any rules of the teen genre, of the kind of coming-of-age movie that the late great John Hughes pioneered so successfully in the 1980s and ’90s, but it works in a modernized way that...

The story of Joe Goldberg is coming to an end. Deadline reports that the Netflix streaming service has renewed the serial killer thriller series You for a fifth season… and they’ve confirmed that season 5 will also be the final one. Although she remains attached as an executive producer, she’s passing showrunner duties over to fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. Thankfully, Foley and Lo are no strangers to You. They have been working on the series since season 1 and season 2, respectively.

Joe Goldberg is back in the season four trailer for You — and this time, he’s going by Professor Jonathan Moore.
The full trailer, set to Hidden Citizens’ “I Ran (So Far Away),” sees Penn Badgley’s Joe find Marienne (Tati Gabrielle), who seemingly has no interest in reconnecting with him. “You’re a murderer, Joe,” she tells him. “You’re wrong about me. I’m gonna prove it to you,” he replies.
From there, Joe makes his way to London, where he settles in as a professor and tries to lay low. He falls in with a group of “the most insane, damaged people on Earth: a circle of privileged douchebags.” As per usual, Joe tries to turn over a new leaf and no longer be a murderous stalker. And as per usual, he fails.
“I do miss having someone out there,” Badgley’s Joe says in his narrating fashion,...

The television franchise that began with Pretty Little Liars on Freeform (starting back when the channel was known as ABC Family) and continued with two short-lived spin-offs on Freeform – Ravenswood and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists – moved over to the HBO Max streaming service earlier this year with a new series called Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, which leans further into horror territory. As we reported back in September, HBO Max has ordered another season of the show. Now Deadline has revealed that season 2 is going to sport a new subtitle. This season is being called Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
Returning from season 1 are Bailee Madison as Imogen Adams, Chandler Kinney as Tabby Haworthe, Zaria as Faran Bryant, Maia Reficco as Noa Olivar, Bechtel as Karen/Kelly Beasley, Sharon Leal as Sidney Haworthe, Elena Goode as Marjorie Olivar, Eric Johnson as Sheriff Tom Beasley, Alex Aiono as Shawn Noble,...
