On Oct. 20, 1967, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin were riding horseback along the banks of Bluff Creek, in Northern California’s Six Rivers National Forest when they filmed just under a minute of what looks to be a large, hair-covered female bipedal figure walking into the frame from the left, glancing over its right shoulder, and continuing until it exits on the right. The footage is the most famous, most debated—but never definitively debunked—video capture of a supposed sasquatch.
Now, 55 years later, it remains a popular topic of conversation among Bigfoot believers as well as skeptics. And the profile of the apelike form taken from the clip—with its domed head and large swaying arms—has become an immediately recognizable symbol for a ‘squatch and is emblazoned on an endless supply of merchandise.

On March 20, the Expedition Bigfoot team kicked off its third season on Travel Channel and discovery+ with a two-hour premiere that included a “pre-show” featuring an interview with famed primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall. Then the team — primatologist Dr. Mireya Mayor, host Bryce Johnson, survivalist Russell Acord, and author Ronny Le Blanc — returned to Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula after destructive wildfires last year forced them to abandon their investigation.
Utilizing a combination of equipment and overnight explorations, the team approaches their search for Sasquatch with an open-minded skepticism. For the premiere, they implement an agriculture drone to spray primate pheromones in hopes of drawing out the creature they seek. Additionally, LeBlanc and Mayor appear to notice a figure peering down at them from a ridge while they’re on the river, and Acord’s shelter is accosted by something outside while hunkered down for the night.

It's a rare experience to interview legend Morgan Freeman on the red carpet. It's an even rarer experience to interview a lemur on the red carpet. (See me do both by scrollilng down to see the video!)
At the Island of Lemurs: Madagascar world premiere in front of the California Science Center IMAX Theater, a red carpet is rolled out in front of posters of the movie and plant decorations. After an hour of waiting, the very first guest on the carpet arrives: a common brown lemur perched on the shoulders of a lemur caretaker. This playful little lemur jumps from shoulder to shoulder, surprising guest celebrities walking down the carpet. Oohs and aahs come from the crowd of passersby visiting the museum.
Dr. Patricia Wright, a primatologist who is featured in the movie, explains the lemurs' countenance as a reflection on their lifestyle. "They have that calm sort of Zen approach to life.

It's always awesome to start the week with the return of the cold you thought you'd shaken the previous day, a cloudy sky that refuses to actually rain outside, and the knowledge of a dental appointment the next morning. And by "awesome" I mean "terrible." But there's always television! Which gives me/us... very little to look forward to this evening unless you get the Logo channel, which I don't. Anyway, I'm off to hunt for cold medicine, which will make whatever I watch more entertaining than it deserves to be, so here's your Monday night television:
8:00pm: "Dancing With the Stars" on ABC
"All Together Now: A Celebration of Service" on NBC
"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family. Third season spring premiere.
"Too Fat for 15" on Style
8:30pm: "Mad Love" on CBS
9:00pm: "All Worked Up" on TruTV. Third season finale.

Chicago – Mark Burnett is a man who knows no shame. The phenomenal success he’s found with shows such as “Survivor” and “The Apprentice” have cemented his reputation as the Jerry Bruckheimer of television. There isn’t a moment in any of his reality TV spectacles that feels spontaneous or authentic. And yet his shows are so popular with undiscerning viewers that they’ve basically become critic-proof. As eye candy they’re often delectable, but as brain food, they’re no more substantial than McDonald’s.
Blu-Ray Rating: 1.5/5.0
One of Burnett’s new shows this year was “Expedition Africa,” which premiered on The History Channel in May. It is undoubtedly his most transparent exercise in audience manipulation to date. The show features four explorers who embark on the same 970-mile journey through Africa taken by Henry Morton Stanley to find Dr. David Livingstone.
