With her nuptials on the line and the Prince of Darkness lurking close by, Courtney does her best to protect her childhood home on the eve of the wedding. But when her ne’er-do-well sister accidentally invites Satan inside (known more casually as Dave), he possesses Courtney – throwing a demonic wrench into her happily-ever-after plans. Courtney’s ragtag team of reluctant heroes including her sister, perfectionist best friend, and skeptical future sister-in-law must find a way to exorcise Dave, reclaim Courtney’s soul, and get her down the aisle with as little bloodshed as possible.

A scene from Courtney Gets Possessed. Courtesy of Paramount+
As the odd little horror comedy Courtney Gets Possessed opens, we meet Courtney (Lauren Buglioli) sitting alone and bored at someone else’s wedding when a jaunty fellow named Dave (Jonathon Pawloski) approaches her and arouses some interest in the lass. Fast-forward five years, and Courtney is now the bride about to marry Glen (Zae Jordan) while coping with her lifelong nemesis of a sister, Caitlin (Madison Hatfield). The latter has always resented her more popular sibling and done all she could to mess with her, from swiping jewelry to boinking her boyfriends. At the bachelorette party, Dave turns up at her door. Courtney tries to keep him out, but Caitlin – if only to annoy her sister – invites him in. The group soon learns that Dave is actually Satan, that Courtney naively had a fling with him several years earlier, and now he wants her back,...

Florida Man is a Netflix series created and directed by Donald Todd and starring Édgar Ramírez and Abadía Lee, is a drama in the world of mobsters full of entanglements.
An “American-style” thriller that leaves us the best and the least good of the entertainment industry: the system knows how to create a great production without risking the slightest.
Without being salient, it has all the elements of an 80’s thriller, those that didn’t go down in history and didn’t pretend to, but that gave us so many good moments.
About the Series
A film that does not want to stand out and that, full of desires to achieve in the cinematographic aspect, is born without the taste needed to be outstanding, but as a perfect television product in which good professionals get, without too much effort, “just another day at the office”.
A Florida Man tastes like a “serial” series,...

On Monday, Netflix released the full trailer for the upcoming crime dramedy limited series “Florida Man,” and if you weren’t in a Sunshine State of mind before, you will be after this.
“Florida Man” stars Edgar Ramírez as Mike, an ex-cop with a debilitating gambling problem who owes a lot of money to a Philadelphia gangster named Moss Yankov. When Moss’ girlfriend Delly (Abbey Lee) – with whom Mike has his own history – absconds to Florida, Mike is sent to his home state to find her. Mike tried to put Florida behind him, but once he returns, he’s pulled back into Florida’s well-documented craziness when Delly tells him a way they can get $100 million. It’s a big score that involves some really shady characters and lots and lots of guns. “This is Florida,” Clark Gregg’s character says. “The goddamn state is shaped like a gun.” He...

"You don't bring your trouble into my neighborhood." Oh yeah this looks properly wild and crazy. Netflix has revealed the full trailer for the series Florida Man, based on the iconic "Florida man" memes. I guess? Or maybe just based on all the endless news stories of Florida people committing ridiculously petty crimes. When a struggling ex-cop is forced to return to his home state of Florida to find a Philly mobster's runaway girlfriend, what should be a quick gig becomes a wildly spiraling journey involving digging up buried family secrets, and an increasingly futile attempt to do the right thing in a place where so much is wrong. The show is "a wild odyssey into a sunny place for shady people." A perfect description for Florida anyway. Edgar Ramírez stars, joined by Abbey Lee, Anthony Lapaglia, Otmara Marrero, Lex Scott Davis, Emory Cohen, Clark Gregg, Isaiah Johnson, Paul Schneider,...

Florida Man series creator Donald Todd says his new Netflix show asks how “Florida Man” became a thing. “[People] laugh at the mug shots and the headlines,” said Todd, “but what’s the story behind the meme?”
Speaking with Netflix’s Tudum, creator/showrunner and executive producer Todd talked about why he’s fascinated by Florida Man memes.
“As I grew up, I never stopped thinking about why Florida is Florida,” said Todd. “Florida is a thin layer of porous crust on top of a hundred feet of water, and it’s maybe a few feet above sea level… it might all sink. So when you feel that everything is temporary, you take what you can when you can get it. A ‘Florida man’ is someone who’s proudly independent and doesn’t live by your code, which means he doesn’t live by any code.”

The term “Florida man” comes from a meme. The joke is that all the unbelievable news headlines that come out of the Sunshine State are all the work of one man, Florida Man, “the world’s worst superhero.” As any Floridian (or ex-Floridian) will tell you, Florida is a special place. Nowhere else in America has the specific combination of traits – warm weather, easily navigable ports, favorable tax laws – that creates the conditions for lunacy to flourish.

Florida is a state that’s constantly the butt of the joke, but it’s also been the inspiration for plenty of great TV: “Miami Vice!” “On Becoming a God in Central Florida!” All the Jacksonville jokes in “The Good Place!” Now, Netflix is hopefully adding to that canon with “Florida Man,” a new thriller show set to premiere April 13. In addition to announcing the date, the streamer also released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming limited series.
Per Netflix’s logline, the thriller stars Edgar Ramírez as struggling ex-cop Mike Valentine, who’s forced to return to his home state of Florida to find a Philadelphia mobster’s runaway girlfriend. The seemingly simple task spirals into a larger journey “into buried family secrets, and an increasingly futile attempt to do the right thing in a place where so much is wrong.” Abbey Lee stars as the mobster girlfriend Delly West,...

Jesse V. Johnson may well be the best director of action films working today. And his latest film, White Elephant may be Bruce Willis’s best chance to add another memorable to his list of credits. Or at least one that’s memorable for the right reasons.
Gabriel Tancredi is an enforcer working for Arnold (Bruce Willis). They have Carlos deal with a rival who won’t negotiate. He handles the matter, but a pair of cops, Vanessa and her partner see him making his escape. Arnold gives Gabriel and Carlos forty-eight hours to take care of that problem. And they get half the job done quickly and easily. But finishing it off may be more work than they expected.
