Our Indie Spotlight feature returns with UFO’s, a zombie webseries pilot, and an exclusive interview with Woe to the Living co-designer Joshua Butterfield. We also have an exclusive first look at the cover art for Shakespeare v. Lovecraft:
Devolution: Reckoning- This short film is a unique 10 minute piece about UFOs attacking Earth, told through timelapses and other experimental means.
“Fed up with the failures of mankind, a cruel race of UFOs set out to destroy Earth and all that inhabit it. Can civilization survive the incredible onslaught of the attackers? Baraka meets War Of The Worlds in this unique sci-fi short, told through an unconventional arrangement of dramatic timelapses, public domain radio plays, and some experimental flair from horror filmmaker Gavin Heffernan.”

Toy Story 3D Blu-Ray Combo Pack Walt Disney Home Entertainment 1995 & 2009/Rated G/Running Time 81 Mins List Price: $49.99 – Available November 1, 2011 Back during the Fall of 1995, I had absolutely no interest in seeing Toy Story. Disney had enjoyed tremendous success and a resurgence of quality film-making that began with the 1989 release of The Little Mermaid. Classic Disney quality films were back and the subsequent releases of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, secured their new foothold in the industry and at the box-office. Yet the studio was also in danger of becoming a cold corporate entity. For every Beauty and the Beast, their live action division was turning out crappy soulless films like The Three Musketeers or the Pauley Shore vehicle In The Army Now.As the first full length computer animated feature Toy Story had a cold, soulless look to it upon first glance. As impressive as CGI was,...

In March 2009, voice actors Paul Pape and Joe Cipriano joined engineer George Whittam to honor Don Lafontaine, their late friend and a voiceover legend, who voiced more than 5,000 movie trailers. With the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, the three worked to create and build the Don Lafontaine Voice-Over Lab, where voice performers can work on their craft and record demos and auditions. The lab is located at the SAG Foundation Actors Center in Los Angeles. After Pape approached Marcia Smith, the foundation's executive director, about the idea, start-up funds were raised over the course of a weekend through contributions from Lafontaine's close friends and co-workers. These contributors later became the lab's advisory board. The SAG Foundation was the perfect partner for turning this idea into reality, says Casey Lewis, construction project manager and the Actors Center's director: "Basically, our mission is to assist, educate, and inspire actors. That's what we do through our programs.

For this month’s column regarding collaborations, I was thinking about all of this great technology these days, the Internet, and how people have - now more than ever - the ability to collaborate at many levels and from any location in the world.
Songwriting, Arranging, and Scoring can now have many different authors if you so desire.
We have the ability to leverage the talents of session players, arrangers, musicians, producers, et cetera to help create great sounding music.
At first you might not embrace this, especially if you don’t want to split credits, publishing, and royalties. So lets assume for this article we are beyond that and you need or want to collaborate, either in the same location or in another state or country.
Let's look at some workflows that you can use to collaborate.
Methods:
