Evan Peters is getting some of the strongest reviews of his career for his role as the titular serial killer in Netflix’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” But do You think “Dahmer” is Evan Peters‘ best performance ever? It seems Ryan Murphy is just as big a fan of true crime as the rest of us as his newest venture with Netflix will be tackling the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster. Titled Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Murphy seems to be keeping it in the American Horror Story family as TVLine recently confirmed that Evan Peters has been cast in the title role. This won't be the first time Murphy has utilized Dahmer's story: Dahmer made an appearance in an episode of AHS: Hotel as one of the serial killer's invited to James March's (portrayed by Peters) Devil's Night dinner. Currently touted as a limited series, it's unclear if Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will follow the route of American Crime Story and become an anthology following other killers. Ahead, we've broken down some of the most important details including the cast,...

While it’s anyone’s guess what the rest of American Horror Story: 1984 has in store for the merry murderers of Camp Redwood, there’s another (arguably more pressing) mystery on viewers’ minds: When is Sarah Paulson going to show up, and who will she be playing?
Paulson, who has been a key player in all eight previous installments of American Horror Story, is reportedly set to appear in a reduced capacity sometime this season — and with only four episodes left, including the show’s milestone 100th hour, the clock is ticking.

There were mullets and midriffs aplenty in Wednesday’s American Horror Story premiere, which took us back to one of the horniest (and stabbiest) eras in pop culture history.
Ahs: 1984‘s opening hour introduced us to doe-eyed ingenue Brooke Thompson (Emma Roberts), whose plans to study veterinary medicine over the summer were suddenly derailed after a deranged serial killer broke into her apartment, stole her jewelry, and vowed to murder her. Andrew Garfield and Jessica Chastain will play Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” a biopic that will be directed by Michael Showalter (“The Big Sick”), an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The film will be based on the documentary of the same name that was directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato from World of Wonder. Abe Sylvia wrote the script for the feature. Chastain is producing alongside her producing partner Kelly Carmichael through their Freckle Films production banner, and Gigi Pritzker and Rachel Shane through their Mwm Studios are also producing. Jordana Mollick is executive producing.
Tammy Faye Bakker was an American singer, evangelist and television personality who first gained recognition for “The Ptl Club,” a televangelist program she co-founded with her then-husband Jim Bakker in 1974. In 1978, the pair built a Christian theme park called Heritage USA. Later, Jim Bakker was indicted,...

We've known for quite some time that American Horror Story loves to play with time. I mean, the full span of the series alone takes up a good five or six centuries. This time around, Apocalypse has proven to be just as slippery. We begin at one point, then leap forward 18 months, then rewind three years. And though we've been dwelling in this three-years-prior flashback for quite a few episodes now, we're also experiencing flashbacks within that flashback. It's enough to give you a real headache. Even the most attentive fans may be having trouble.
On top of all this time-play within the eighth season, the fact that it's a Murder House and Coven crossover means we also have to keep the timelines for those seasons in mind while we navigate these evil waters. Whew. Lucky for you, I had the time, and I've compiled all the important dates from the previous seasons,...

American Horror Story: Apocalypse Season 8 Episode 4
The scenes of domestic bliss that open the episode are, in their shocking Ahs sort of way, wholesome. It's the upbringing that Michael Langdon never got during his time with Constance and the revolving door of nannies she provided him with. She made home-cooked meals, she had conversations with him over the dinner table, and she's even able to get Michael to pray. Granted, he's praying to Satan to give thanks for his meal, but at least the boy is showing a little gratitude. The charm doesn't end there; when we go back to Miriam and Michael's time together, it's clear that she loves the boy, and that he loves her like the mother he's no doubt always wanted.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Could it be…Satan?”, the fourth episode of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse.”
“American Horror Story: Apocalypse” really kicked things into high gear last week with the arrival of the “Coven” witches and things did not slow down this week with “Could It Be… Satan?” with the return of another magical blast from the past in Gabourey Sidibe’s Queenie, as well as the introduction of a tribe of warlocks.
The episode started off with a couple big reveals about Michael Langdon (Cody Fern). First, as told through flashbacks, he wasn’t raised by his grandmother Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange), which was what long-time “American Horror Story” viewers assumed after seeing her with the younger version of him at the end of the first “Murder House” season. Instead, though, he was raised by the human version of Miriam Mead (Kathy Bates...

American Horror Story: Apocalypse Recap: Michael's Twisted Backstory Involves Yet Another Ahs Season
Over the course of just four episodes, American Horror Story: Apocalypse has gone from being a show about Earth’s last survivors to a show about the timeless struggle between witches and warlocks. That’s an impressive leap, even by Ahs‘ standards.
Wednesday’s episode turned the clock back three years, when Outpost 3 was still an elite private school for boys — nay, warlocks. That’s where a young(er) Michael Langdon had his dark gifts nurtured by a group of men who believed he was the answer to an unsettling prophecy. (And aren’t they all?) According to legend, an...

Warning: Spoilers ahead! Do not proceed if you haven't watched the season finale of American Horror Story: Cult.
Evan Peters is opening up about his "most difficult" season of American Horror Story yet.
During an exclusive interview with Et on Tuesday, the 30-year-old actor revealed what it was like taking on the lead role of Kai Anderson in Ahs: Cult and how he felt about that shocking season finale.
Over the course of seven seasons, Peters has been cast in a number of villainous roles, like Tate Langdon in Murder House, Jimmy Darling in Freak Show and James March in Hotel. But none have come close to Kai, whom Peters says was probably his favorite character he's portrayed in FX's anthology series thus far.

Last Week’S Review: ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ Review: Take The Uber And Go, You Fools
Fact vs. Fiction
I bet you were sitting at home thinking, “What could make these talking head segments better? I know, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin!” Well my friend, you’re in luck, because that’s who opens “Chapter 5,” giving the most painfully stilted line readings imaginable while recounting the tale of how the house was first built by Edward Mott (Evan Peters, appearing at last) back in 1792.
Edward built the house as a refuge from the world, since he didn’t like people and also preferred having sex with his male servant than spending time with his wife and daughter. It’s fitting that Edward is the ancestor of Dandy from “Freak Show,” since he’s just another typical “Ahs” Rich Sadist. And once he has proven himself as such, he’s dispatched by the colonists.

American Horror Story's shared universe aspect comes into its own this week with the fun return of a Coven character...
This review contains spoilers.
1.11 Battle Royale
It took Ryan Murphy five seasons and a return to a familiar stomping ground to bring American Horror Story full circle. The recycling of Pepper last season was a nice touch, and the freak show or the asylum was a common destination for unfortunate microcephalics back in the dark days, so to have the character move from one to the other makes sense. However, there wasn't a lot of modern crossing-over, aside from using the same actors. That's changed with Hotel. Whether it's the La location or the modern setting, old familiar faces have been popping up (and usually dying horribly) within the confines of the Hotel Cortez.

This just in from the Hotel Cortez: Everyone is plotting to kill everyone! Even characters that, you know, can't actually be killed. Rarely has American Horror Story sustained its current level of momentum, quality and sheer entertainment...
This review contains spoilers.
5.7 Flicker
I absolutely love it when American Horror Story uses film-making style to help tell their story. It's not a question of the way the characters dress or the way the sets are displayed, but a question of actual technical techniques. A significant portion of Flicker is devoted to the life and times of a very young Countess—long before she was the Countess—as a fresh-faced Italian girl from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn who made her way out to Hollywood to become a star on the silver screen. A chance appearance as a harem girl leads to a meeting that will change young Countess's life forever as she finds herself wooed by the most famous lover in history, Rudolph Valentino (Finn Wittrock, playing a new role) and his glamorous wife,...

America's serial killers come out to play in American Horror Story Hotel's latest Halloween episode, Devil's Night...
This review contains spoilers.
5.4 Devil's Night
The announcement that Lady Gaga would play a prominent role in American Horror Story: Hotel was a bit of a divisive one. She was the centerpiece of a lot of the show's commercials, particularly one of her set to the memorable industrial tune Du Hast by Rammstein. No one knew what role she would play, or what her purpose would end up being, but everyone had an opinion about it, and most of those opinions seem to have been negative. It's easy to see why; Gaga's a pop star, not an actress. If she's been on stage or screen, it's been in the context of her musical talents first and foremost, not her ability to emote or cry on cue. I have to admit to having been pleasantly surprised.

Spoilers ahead for the most recent episode of American Horror Story: Hotel. On Wednesday night’s American Horror Story: Hotel, John Lowe is invited to a dinner party along with Aileen Wuornos, Richard Ramirez, Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and the Zodiac — a murderer’s row of serial killers. "John is clearly not yet our kind," their host James March tells them when the detective balks at their idea of amuse-bouche and desserts. Was Lowe invited to this strange soirée because he's a guest of the hotel, because they enjoyed the idea of a helpless law-enforcement official in their midst, or because he might actually be a kindred spirit? Wes Bentley, who plays Lowe, helped shed a little light when he chatted with Vulture about Ahs theories, understanding addiction, and why he wants Gwyneth Paltrow's head in a box.Why do you think John Lowe was invited to the Devil's Night dinner?...

American Horror Story: Hotel delves into the past of Angela Bassett's character, Ramona Royale, in this week's ever-stylish episode...

5.3 Mommy
One of the many things American Horror Story is doing well this season is indulging in genre tropes. March's back story was accompanied by silent movie era film graphics and black and white film stock, and this episode's reveal of the history of Ramona Royale (Angela Bassett) is similarly fun. Rather than the silent era (or perhaps a very early talkie), Ramona is straight out of Quentin Tarantino's daydreams, a honky-blasting, gorgeous blaxploitation movie star supreme, and I mean that literally. Ramona Royale was a big B-movie star in her time, slapping around jive turkeys and sporting a boss baby Afro. It's a fun introduction to the character, who is very much a self-made woman, strong enough and beautiful enough to...

5.2 Chutes And Ladders
If you just looked at the name of this show, you'd expect something, well, horrifying. Murder House definitely had its moments, and Asylum might have been the most unsettling series of the show, but American Horror Story hasn't been particularly horrifying the last few seasons. Sure, they both had their moments—the Freaks recreation from last season, Twisty's whole everything, some of Dandy's moments, the rape Minotaur... but lately, the gore and grotesquerie has been as comical as it has been horrifying. We're only two episodes into American Horror Story: Hotel, but it already seems like the show is going to aim more to be horrifying than horribly campy. Not that it's not campy,...

"If you want to know what this place is about, you have to know about the man who built it," Kathy Bates's desk clerk tells us in episode two of American Horror Story: Hotel, before revealing the history of the Hotel Cortez. Turns out it was built by a serial killer in 1925 to facilitate and hide his crimes — complete with torture chambers, blind passageways, trapdoors, disposal chutes for bodies, and walls lined with asbestos to mute the screams. That mysterious Room 64? "His black heart, his office." Evan Peters, who plays owner/builder/founder James March, chatted with Vulture about prepping to play a psychopath, Lady Gaga's pool parties, and his hopes for American Horror Story season six. What did Ryan Murphy tell you about this character? And what was your approach? Ryan said he would be very rich, and very evil [chuckles], and that he built the hotel to...

Along with its constantly changing casts and stories, there’s one other thing that’s always different about American Horror Story in each new season: the show’s opening titles. And the Ahs team have outdone themselves this year, as the main title sequence for Hotel may be the creepiest in the show’s history. As the credits (which were first released by Ryan Muprhy earlier today on Twitter) show, American Horror Story: Hotel‘s cast includes Lady Gaga as Elizabeth (also known as The Countess), Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, Angela Basset as Ramona Royale, Kathy Bates as Iris, Wes Bentley as Detective John Lowe, Matt Bomer as Donovan, Evan Peters as Mr. James March, Denis O’Hare as Liz Taylor, Finn Wittrock as Tristan Duffy, Chloë Sevigny as Alex Lowe, Cheyenne Jackson as Will Drake, and Mare Winnigham as the laundress of the Hotel Cortez. Additionally, Lily Rabe...

We’re only about two weeks away from the premiere of the upcoming season of American Horror Story, and if the show’s teasers, trailers, and behind-the-scenes videos haven’t been enough to convince you to check into the Hotel, maybe the series’ all-new poster will. The poster, which you can see the full version of below, is a portrait of sorts, featuring all of Ahs: Hotel‘s cast members in character. Of course, Lady Gaga’s Elizabeth is the most fabulous-looking of the bunch, but all of the characters certainly stand out in a way that only American Horror Story can make happen. As the poster shows us, the cast for this season of American Horror Story includes the aforementioned Gaga as Elizabeth (also known as The Countess), Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, Angela Basset as Ramona Royale, Kathy Bates as Iris, Matt Bomer as Donovan, Wes Bentley as Detective John Lowe,...

October is fast-approaching, and that can only mean one thing: yes, another Paranormal Activity is primed to launch in theaters. Switching gears to the small screen, though, and Ryan Murphy’s popular anthology series will return with American Horror Story: Hotel, and today’s new batch of stills showcase the various stars checking in for what will surely be a retreat to remember – for better or worse.
Spotlighting recurring characters played by Evan Peters and Kathy Bates, while also drawing attention to newcomers Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) and supermodel Naomi Campbell. Assembling under the roof of the Hotel Cortez, it is the former new addition to the cast who will play Countess, owner of the titular abode who also happens to be a vampire in all but name. According to Murphy, Gaga’s unpredictable character has been infected with an “ancient blood curse” and...

Want a look at Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley and more look like in American Horror Story: Hotel? Step this way...
Next to its stalwart rep troupe, American Horror Story's fifth season has taken a couple of bold casting risks that look as though they may pay off. Lady Gaga and Naomi Campbell are due to appear alongside the more tried and tested likes of Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Evan Peters, Sarah Poulson, and Angela Bassett in the new series, which premieres this October in the Us.
The fifth season is the first not to welcome the inestimable talents of Jessica Lange, but the crop of talent lined up below should rush in to fill that gap.

While details of the upcoming American Horror Story season, Hotel, have been ambiguous thus far, the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly excavates some new information on the characters and the hotel. Expect plenty of blood and sex, often at the same time. The titular building of this season, the Hotel Cortez, was built in 1930 by the psychotic James March (Evan Peters), who imbued the Art Deco edifice with unrepentant evil. The warren building is rife with labyrinthine corridors, trapdoors, secret rooms, mine shafts, death, and all kinds of decadent, depraved fun. Lady Gaga plays a countess who maintains her youthful vigor and beauty with a healthy diet of blood. But she's not a vampire, Ryan Murphy says: “I prefer the term ‘ancient blood virus.’ It’s really a form of hemophilia, in a way.” She acquires the Cortez in the present-day and engenders a macabre love triangle between Matt Bomer...
