Eric Canada was born and raised in Queens, New York, at the young age
of 16 he discovered his passion for filmmaking. Consequently, Eric and
a friend soon would obtain a video camera and began making their own
unscripted films. With just a single television and two VCR's they were
able to create and edit stories that reflected their vision of everyday
life growing up in the inner city.
Shortly after graduating high school in pursuit of following his dream of becoming a filmmaker, Eric attended Hofstra University on an academic scholarship. While attending Hofstra University He majored in Film and Television Production with a minor in Sociology.
After attending Hofstra University, Eric went on to complete an internship on the PBS documentary series "The Blues", which was Executive Produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by several award winning directors such as Spike Lee, Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese himself.
Immediately after his internship, Eric moved on to become a Production Assistant. He used this opportunity to work on numerous types of projects including films, documentaries, television shows, reality shows, game shows, award shows, concerts, commercials as well as music videos. After several years in the industry Eric returned to school, attending UCLA's School of Theater Film and Television. Shortly after graduating from UCLA's Producers Program Eric went on to producing and currently is Co-Chairman and Chief Operating Officer with his older brother and sister in their own multimedia production company, (CMEnt,LLC) CANADA MEDIA and ENTERTAINMENT, LLC.
