Nick Daley is following in his father’s footsteps as the night watchman at the American Museum of Natural History, so he knows what happens when the sun goes down. But when the maniacal ruler Kahmunrah escapes, it is up to Nick to save the museum once and for all.
It’s been eight years since we thought the family-oriented fantasy comedy Night at the Museum film series ended, and yet here we are with a brand new film – although this time, it’s animated. Despite absolutely loving the original trilogy as a kid, I have to say that I wasn’t really crossing my fingers for any new films to get made. In fact, did anybody actually want to see a new film in this franchise, let alone one that’s animated?...

Disney shows off a new 2D animation style in the Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again movie trailer, released Tuesday, November 29. In the animated Night at the Museum spinoff, Zachary Levi voices Larry Daley (played by Ben Stiller in the original live-action franchise), the night guard privy to the museum’s big secret. The museum’s exhibit occupants, who come alive each night, urge Larry to hire his son, Nick Daley, to be a night guard for his summer job. Nick is voiced by Joshua Bassett of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again premieres December 9 exclusively on Disney+. Few expected that Shawn Levy would strike franchise gold in 2006 when the first "Night at the Museum" was released, but the film based on the 1993 children's book of the same name by Croatian illustrator Milan Trenc has since spawned two sequels, inspired a never-made theme park ride, and even got the Lego treatment in 2020. The original film centered on Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), a divorced father who finds a job at the American Museum of Natural History as a night guard. What appears to be an easy job of keeping an eye on a bunch of fossils and artifacts turns into the adventure of a lifetime after he discovers an ancient spell has caused the exhibits of the museum to come to life.
After the Fox-Disney merger, at-the-time CEO Bob Iger announced a new "Night at the Museum" animated feature, and now we're finally going to see the final product.

It’s fitting that “Cher & the Loneliest Elephant” opens and closes with the titular pop star’s dance anthem “Song for the Lonely,” as this uplifting Earth Day documentary stands as a cinematic love song dedicated to despondent animal co-star Kaavan, a 36-year-old elephant who inspired a global animal rights movement.
Director Jonathan Finnigan’s polished package chronicles the years-long Herculean undertaking of lawfully liberating and moving a malnourished, depressed four-ton elephant from Pakistan to a serene sanctuary in Cambodia — all in the midst of a pandemic. Debuting on Paramount Plus on April 22 before migrating to the Smithsonian Channel on May 19, it’s a resounding testament to the power of compassion and community.
To appreciate the scale and scope of Kaavan’s monumental journey from a sad, captive prisoner held in deplorable conditions to a content, calm creature roaming a 30-acre preserve, we must first understand his plight. As a calf,...

I feel the need to climb to the top of a mountain and shout at the top of my lungs to watch Legit on Fxx before it falls victim as another show worth your time that couldn’t find its audience in time. It’s smart, edgy, and sweet and comedies like this are few and far between.
Legit isn’t your typical comedy. Standup comedian, Jim Jefferies is trying to do something different, and bring his own sensibilities to the TV comedy realm. “When you’re with your friends,” he explains. “You laugh a little bit, you laugh a little bit, and then something big happens. I think a lot of network sitcoms it’s just laughs per minute. I don’t think they even care how big the laughs are. As long as they can pack so many into that timeline. We have episodes where there’s maybe five,...

"Legit" might not be Fxx's most popular comedy, but it should be one of them. After a critically acclaimed first season, the Jim Jefferies-starring series is only sharper, funnier and more brutally heartwarming in Season 2.
Though Wednesday's (Feb. 26) premiere episode isn't as jarring or as uplifting as Season 1's, "Legit" finds its groove much easier in Season 2 than it did last year. The characters of Jim, Billy (DJ Qualls) and Steve (Dan Bakkedahl) feel lived in here, and the episodes feel like one part of a larger story instead of just funny jokes conceived as episodes, which is more akin to "Louie."
In fact, it's hard to compare "Legit" to much of anything on television right now, and that's part of what is so exciting about it. After viewing the first four episodes, it's clear that Jefferies and co-creator Peter O'Fallon aren't afraid to push the bounds of what is politically correct on television.

Jim Jefferies is very excited about "Legit" Season 2. The Fxx comedy opted to move away from his standup material in its second season, and he thinks that is for the best.
"I think it's substantially better than Season 1," he says during a conference call with reporters promoting the Season 2 premiere.
After defining the characters of Jim, Billy (DJ Qualls) and Steve (Dan Bakkedahl) in the first season, "Legit" is free to get into the nitty gritty of their personalities in Season 2. That's not always for the best of the characters, though, as both Jim and Steve find themselves on a decline this season.
"The character of Steve is very well-defined now," Jefferies says. "This season he becomes a full blown alcoholic, and it progressively gets worse throughout the season."
Don't expect things to get much better for Steve, either. Jefferies likes the fact that Steve's struggles with alcohol don't feel corny or contrived.

Actress, writer and all around Hollywood favorite Carrie Fisher will appear on Jim Jefferies excellent Fxx series "Legit." Jefferies is in production with the poignant, side splitting comedy that takes Jim on strange and marvelous adventures with brothers Steve (Dan Bakkedahl) and Billy (DJ Qualls). Bonus cast member is Rodney (Nick Daley): Jim will be appearing at the Melrose Improv on Nov. 5. TVLine.com reports that Carrie Fisher will play Angela Greenberg, one of Hollywood’s top comedy-development execs. Greenberg sees one of Jim's sets, and according to TVLine, alter-egos and confusion ensue. Legit‘s second season launches in January 2014 on Fxx.

Drugs, prostitution and masturbation are among the topics tackled by FX’s freshman comedy Legit. Despite those edgy plot points, it was the show’s multiple characters with disabilities that had co-creators Jim Jefferies and Peter O’Fallon worried they might offend viewers. From series regular Billy (DJ Qualls), a 30-something with muscular dystrophy, to Rodney (Nick Daley), a party hound with an intellectual disability, the world of Legit is full of characters trying to make it no matter their circumstances. “We were kind of nervous,” Jefferies, the show’s star, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We know we’re not being nasty,
