Heart is back!
Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson will be making a comeback to perform together after five years.
Though recent years haven’t seen the sisters onstage together, both have continued to perpetuate the 70s rock band songs. Nancy toured in 2022 under a different name, Nancy Wilson’s Heart, in 2022, mainly singing Heart songs, while Ann had her own band called Tripsitter.
The Royal Flush Tour will launch on April 20 in Greenville, South Carolina, and will make stops in major cities like Atlanta, Boston, and Montreal before performing their final show in Morrison, Colorado, on September 22.
Joining Heart for most dates will be fellow 70s rock band, Cheap Trick. On other selected dates, fans will have a chance to see Journey and Def Leppard.
The upcoming tour could also be considered a reunion of sorts. In 2016, the sisters had a falling out after Ann’s husband, Dean Wetter, was...

A newly released rough mix of “Photograph” from Def Leppard’s archives shows a different side to the Number One rock chart hit. Where the version that came out on Pyromania and dominated rock radio in 1983 finds the band singing “Photograph” and Joe Elliott responding, “I don’t want your … / I don’t need your …” the rough mix has less vocals and more space. It sounds almost like a new wave song with more prominent (and funkier) bass, less reverb, and a lot more jangly guitar in the chorus. The cowbell remains the same.

Megaplatinum rock stalwarts Def Leppard and Journey are gearing up to hit the road for a North American summer stadium tour starting July 6 in St. Louis. The 23-show jaunt runs through September 8 in Denver and will feature fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Miller and his band on the bulk of the dates, with Cheap Trick or Heart on the others.
The trek will hit Citi Field in metro New York on August 7 and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on August 25, both featuring Miller. See the full itinerary below.
The two headliners have toured together over the decades, but this is their first co-starring stadium affair. Def Leppard hit the huge U.S. and Canadian venues in 2022 for a Covid-delayed tour with Mötley Crüe in 2022.
San Francisco-based Journey has moved more than 49 million albums in the U.S. alone, paced by their 15 million-selling 1988 Greatest Hits.

A big congratulations goes out to Nita Strauss. The Alice Cooper guitarist got engaged to her drummer and longtime boyfriend Josh Villalta, known as Josh V., during her record release show for her new solo album, The Call of the Void. The gig took place Thursday night (July 6th) in Los Angeles.
Josh dropped to one knee to ask Strauss for her hand in marriage onstage in front of the packed crowd at Whisky A Go Go, and received an enthusiastic “Yes” from the guitar virtuoso. The whole thing was captured in photos and videos, as Mike Jakubow of Sumerian Records shared some clips on social media (see below). He posted, “Nita Strauss Record Release Party …. more than that … it turned into an engagement party! Congrats @hurricanenita and @thejoshv on everything. Ghost recently released a covers EP called Phantomime, but they evidently have more covers in them. The Swedish metal band has unleashed a cover of Shakespears Sister’s 1992 single “Stay” featuring actor Patrick Wilson.
“Stay” opens with soft synths providing the basis behind echoing vocals. About halfway through the track, things pick up, as heavy guitar riffs crash in and the vocals take on a more powerful character.
So, how did “Stay” come together? As it turns out, actor, director, and Tony-nominated singer Wilson is a major Ghost fan. He saw the band live twice in 2022 and met up with frontman Tobias Forge while working on his directorial debut, Insidious: The Red Door.
Later, inspired by Ghost’s version of “Spillways” featuring Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Wilson reached out to Forge, who had been working on a version of Shakespears Sister’s “Stay.” The two then decided to collaborate on the cover,...

Mötley Crüe played a “surprise” intimate club show Friday night (June 30th) at The Underworld in London in advance of their concert at Wembley Stadium the next evening.
The band performed to around 450 attendees under the pseudonym Dogs of War — the title of a new Crüe song that has yet to be released — and ran through a setlist stacked with hits, including “Shout at the Devil,” “Too Fast for Love,” “Live Wire,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Dr. Feelgood,” and “Kickstart My Heart” (which closed the set).
Mötley Crüe typically perform a medley of covers during their sets, and for The Underworld performance, they fused Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll, Part 2” with Brownsville Station’s “Smokin’ in the Boys Room,” The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter,” Sex Pistols’ “Anarchy in the U.K.,” and the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop.”
They followed the medley up with a full rendition of Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!

Mick Mars Has Spent a great deal of time thinking about his own death, which will happen, he estimates, in about eight years, tops. There won’t be a funeral or memorial service of any kind. Instead, the Mötley Crüe guitarist wants the cremated remains of his body — which has been ravaged for nearly 60 years by the disfiguring bone disease ankylosing spondylitis — packed into a lead urn. “I want them to take it into an airplane and drop it into the center of the Bermuda Triangle,” he says. “I want...

During Classless Act’s stadium tour supporting Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe last year, the upstart hard rockers were joined onstage by hip-hop legend Darryl “Dmc” McDaniels, of Run-dmc fame. Now Classless Act have tapped Dmc for a new version of the track “Storm Before the Calm,” which is premiering via Heavy Consequence (watch the video below).
Akin to Run-Dmc’s legendary “Walk This Way” collab with Aerosmith, Dmc lends his voice and rhymes to “Storm Before the Calm,” dropping a few bars after the guitar solo. He sounds right at home over the rock instrumentation, giving the melodic tune a big payoff moment.
Surprisingly, Dmc said he was “intimidated” by the prospect of collaborating with the young rockers. In a behind-the-scenes interview about the song — which can also be seen below — the rapper opened up about his verse, which was inspired by the whole scenario and the initial...

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen says he heard footsteps and saw a “dark … flash” at the moment he was randomly assaulted outside his hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, suffering a serious head injury.
Allen also told “Good Morning America” on Monday that the 1984 car accident that took one of his arms prepared him for the recovery process he’s going through now. Allen was outside the Four Seasons in mid-March smoking a cigarette after a show when he was attacked by 19-year-old Max Edward Hartley of Ohio, according to police.

The musician sat down for his first and so far only interview about the incident with Good Morning America, revealing details of the attack that happened in Fort Lauderdale on March 13. In the city to perform at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, he was assaulted while taking a smoke break outside a hotel.

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen says he was blindsided during an attack on him outside a South Florida hotel following a concert earlier this year.
“I heard a couple of steps and then I just saw this (flash) and the next thing I knew was I was on the ground,” Allen, 59, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” in an interview broadcast Monday. “I landed on my backside — hit my head on the pavement.”
Def Leppard was in Fort Lauderdale to perform at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino when he was attacked March 13 while taking a smoke break outside a hotel.
Police arrested Max Hartley, a 19-year-old from Avon, Ohio, who has pleaded not guilty to two counts of battery and four counts of criminal mischief, according to court records. Police said they haven’t determined a motive.

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen still doesn’t know why a 19-year-old suddenly charged at him outside of his hotel in Florida earlier this year, knocking him to the ground and causing minor injuries. In his first official interview about the March incident, he expressed to Good Morning America that the potential motive, whatever it might have been, is far less important than the support and care he received during his recovery. He doesn’t think the assailant knew who he was, anyway.

It is fitting to find Fanny: The Right to Rock broadcast on PBS. The channel thrives on educational material, and director Bobbi Jo Hart’s documentary teaches many lessons. The film chronicles the career, and captures the reunion of Fanny, a group of musicians who changed the dynamics of rock in the 1970s. The lineup was unique, labels and management executives dubbed them the “female Beatles.” They made history as the first all-women rock band to release an LP with a major record label.
Originally called The Svelts and rebranded as Wild Honey, Fanny was formed in the mid-1960s in Sacramento, Calif., by three Filipina American musicians: sisters June and Jean Millington, on guitar and bass, and drummer Brie Darling. All three sang. When Darling had her daughter, Brandi, in 1968, Fanny added drummer Alice de Buhr, and roving keyboardist Nickey Barclay.
As was the fashion of the time, they lived in a band house.

The retirement — or removal, depending on who you ask — of founding Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars set in motion a chain reaction of sorts. Rob Zombie guitarist John 5, who had been rumored to take over Mars’ role, was quickly announced as his replacement, and the Crüe promptly hit the studio and live stage with their new axeman.
Until now, we didn’t know what Rob Zombie thought about his trusty guitarist of 17 years moving on to another full-time gig. In a new interview with SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, John 5 reflected on the moment when he broke the news to Zombie, who was understanding despite some reticence.
“We never had a negative word between us,” John 5 said of his relationship with Rob Zombie [as transcribed by Blabbermouth]. “And he’s my buddy and we made great music and great live shows together for 17 years, and we never really had a problem.

Def Leppard are set to perform at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip as part of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 10th, and their set will be immediately preceded by a double-daredevil stunt involving a bike jump over a high-wire act.

Mötley Crüe has never been shy about sharing the dirt, but guitarist Mick Mars has revealed one big secret his bandmates may have wanted kept quiet.
According to a profits participation lawsuit filed Thursday by the 71-year-old six-stringer in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee have been fake-playing and pre-recorded some of their vocals for the tour. The allegation from Mars not only puts the self-described “world’s most notorious band” in an uncomfortable spotlight, but it also may not go down so well with the millions of fans paying Sixx, Neil, Lee and new touring guitarist John 5 big bucks to see them on tour this year.

Guitarist Mick Mars is suing Mötley Crüe over his departure from the band and a dramatic decrease in profit share.
Last year, Mars announced that he was retiring from touring with Mötley Crüe, citing his ongoing struggles with an arthritic disease called ankylosing spondylitis. A statement from his rep specified, “Mick will continue as a member of the band, but can no longer handle the rigors of the road.”
However, in their own follow-up statement, Mötley Crüe implied that Mars was done for good, leading some — including one-time Crüe singer John Corabi — to believe that he was “shown the door.”
It turns out Corabi may have been on to something, as Mars has now filed a lawsuit against his longtime band. In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Mars claims that he still intended to play with Mötley Crüe in some capacity, whether it be select live dates or in the studio,...

Ringo Starr grew up in a poor section of Liverpool and became an international star because of his drumming talent. Artistic honors and musical halls of fame inductions followed for The Beatles’ timekeeper. Ringo made the most obvious statement when he said his life was like a fairy tale. Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen has issued a statement after being violently assaulted last week outside of a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The assailant, 19-year-old Max Edward Hartley, was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with four counts of criminal mischief; one count of misdemeanor battery; and one count of aggravated battery (per a Fort Lauderdale police incident report).
Hartley allegedly charged at Allen, who hit his head after being knocked to the ground. The assailant also apparently attacked a woman who tried to interfere in the incident, hitting her repeatedly and dragging her by the hair.
In his statement to ABC News on Sunday (March 19th), Allen took a tone of empathy rather than one of accusation:
“Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support. Your love and prayers are truly helping. My wife Lauren [Monroe] was thankfully not with me at the time of the incident.

“Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support. Your love and prayers are truly helping. My wife Lauren [Monroe] was thankfully not with me at the time of the incident.

Jack White has responded to the debate over Meg White’s drumming ability by posting an original poem in support of his former White Stripes bandmate.
A row errupted this week after writer Lachlan Markay called her a “terrible” drummer.
“The tragedy of The White Stripes is how great they would have been with a half decent drummer,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
“Yeah, yeah I’ve heard all the ‘but it’s a carefully crafted sound mannnn!’ takes. I’m sorry Meg White was terrible and no band is better for having s****y percussion.”
Since then, numerous fans and friends including Questlove, Karen Elson, and Jack himself have jumped to defend Meg and criticise Markay for his comments.
Elson, who was married to Meg’s ex-husband and bandmate between 2005 and 2013, tweeted: “Not only is Meg White a fantastic drummer, Jack also said the White Stripes would be nothing without her.
