Dead Girls Dancing reminded me of movies like The Virgin Suicides or Lady Bird. It’s all about breaking free from home, living on the edge, and ditching strict rules. You know that feeling when you finish school and feel like you have to have big plans and dreams? Well, thank goodness Ira, Ka, and Malin took the leap and left home before the pressure of being 18-year-old girls got to them. This coming-of-age story will make you wish you could escape like they did, even if just for a few days. I mean, who hasn’t wanted to run away from home and live life their own way? Along the way, they meet a new friend named Zoe, and together, their adventure gets wilder and crazier. They even explored an abandoned village and kind of vandalized it to make it their own. But, as they say, actions have consequences.

Karmma Calling, the brand new Disney+ Hotstar remake of the ABC show Revenge, is filled with many characters that have plenty of reasons to sabotage each other. They have shades of gray and would cross any line to make sure their plans work and their goals are achieved. Some have issues with their parents while others purely want to harm the rest. Here is a list of characters from Karmma Callingthat explains their motives and actions.
Indrani Kothari
Indrani Kothari is portrayed by the very famous Raveena Tandon, who ruled the Hindi film industry throughout the 1990s. Incidentally, she plays the role of a yesteryear actress as well who was considered one of the best in the industry. With her marriage to an ultra-rich businessman, Kaushal Kothari, in Karmma Calling, she has cemented herself as a powerful woman in the social circles of Ali Baug. Ali Baug is far away...

Akanksha Puri, who was last seen in ‘Bigg Boss Ott 2’, will be seen in the web series, ‘Honey Trap Squad’. She will be seen playing the prime character which the actress describes as bold, beautiful, sharp and tough. “I am playing Riya Roy, who is a Honey Trap Squad agent. She is bold and beautiful, sharp and tough. I enjoyed playing this role; I haven’t done anything like this before. I have got an amazing response, and people love my performance in it,” she said.
However, Akanksha does not relate to the character at all.
“Riya is not like me, but it was fun as I got to play something challenging, which is the fun part of being a performer. It was a good experience shooting this thriller,” says Akanksha, who became the centre of discussion after her surprise entry into ‘Mika Ka Swayamvar’ that she won as well.

Summer isn’t over yet but HBO and its streaming arm Max are already moving on to fall. With its list of new releases for August 2023, Max is focusing on football! The American kind, mind you, not the actually footy kind.
August 2023 sees the release of two major football documentaries on HBO and Max. The first is the premiere of Hard Knocks on Aug. 10. The new season of long-running NFL training camp docuseries will center on the New York Jets, new employers of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On Aug. 23, Max will air the aptly named Bs High. The doc tells the stranger-than-fiction story of high school football team Bishop Sycamore, which pulled off one of the more notable sports scams you’re likely to ever hear about.
Not of the football variety but in keeping with the North American sports theme will be season 2 of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty on Aug.

The intriguing central location of Anna Roller’s feature debut is an Italian village mysteriously abandoned, Marie Celeste-style, with its wardrobes still groaning with fur coats and its churches fully stocked with altar wine. It is a handy metaphor for “Dead Girls Dancing” itself, which, as a coming-of-age story, plays in heavily pre-trafficked territory, inheriting many of the trappings of the very many films that have preceded it — especially those dedicated to the growing pains of teenage girls exploring their nascent sexuality and the limits of their childhood bonds. But the clothes are borrowed and once they are politely returned, and the woozy contact high of Roller’s impressively confident, hip style wears off, there’s not a lot left that makes a lasting impression in a densely populated category. Just as these girls, however momentous their own experiences, will leave few traces of their presence on the stone...

Not all of those former child stars make the difficult transition to adult roles — and not all of them even want to.
For proof, take a look at the unique, outside-of-Hollywood jobs that these recognizable child stars now hold.

Dead Girls Dancing director Anna Roller with Anne-Katrin Titze on Alice Rohrwacher: “She’s really important to me and all the female filmmakers with this very distinctive style, like Andrea Arnold and Kelly Reichardt. I really look up to them.”
Anna Roller’s Dead Girls Dancing (a highlight in the International Feature Film Competition of the 22nd edition of the Tribeca Film Festival) stars Luna Jordan, Noemi Liv Nicolaisen, Katharina Stark, and Sara Giannelli on the road looking for adventure. Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides and Bling Ring, as well as Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers may flash through your mind at times, but you’ll soon discover that this journey is distinctly of this century’s fiery Twenties.

International sales house Totem Films has closed distribution deals in multiple territories for “Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry,” which had its world premiere in Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes. The company also closed a deal for France for another Directors’ Fortnight film, “A Song Sung Blue.”
“Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry” was sold to France (Capricci), U.K. (New Wave), Benelux (Vedette), Sweden (Folkets Bio), Greece (Ama Films), Czech Republic (Artcam), and Germany (Eksystent). More deals are in negotiation. The distributor in Switzerland is Frenetic.
The film, directed by Elene Navierani, centers on Etero, a 48-year-old woman living in a small village in Georgia. Etero never wanted a husband and cherishes her freedom as much as her cakes. But her choice to live alone is the cause of much gossip among her fellow villagers.
Unexpectedly, she finds herself passionately falling for a man, and is suddenly faced with the decision to pursue a relationship or continue a life of independence.

'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 20 winner: Jourdan Miller, Marvin Cortes or Cory Hindorff, who won?
It's time to crown the winner of the first "America's Next Top Model" cycle to include male models -- it'll be interesting to see if a guy actually deserves the crown or if it's clear Jourdan was the best model and yet a man still wins because it's the first time with guys. Or maybe Jourdan will win outright -- let's find out!
Top 3 Elimination
One person is eliminated right at the top and it's not Jourdan, of course, so it comes down to Marvin vs. Cory. Unfortunately, by a score of 26.6 to 27.5, Cory is cut right before the big runway show. We have to say -- we were totally Team Cory, so that's a major bummer. We can't believe Kelly gave Cory a 5 for that Guess picture.
Before the runway starts, we have to watch the commercial the Top 3 filmed. In what is supporting our Team Cory feelings, Cory...

Howdy campers. How're your hangovers? I'm writing this the night of St. Patrick's Day, so I assume most of you are out drinking and celebrating your...drinking, and having a blast. I stayed home and watched Antm, and if that weren't enough to fry my brains into a mushy pulp, I've also spent the last hour looking at "Lost" timelines. Damn right, it's better than yours. I'm really not a big drinker, and less of a big drunken crowd person. I prefer to get drunk on bad TV and chocolate. What I'm trying to say is that I think I'm about as braindead as most of you are at this point, so that's it for my intro.
So have a good rest of the week, and let us pray that by this time next week they'll finally have picked a Captain America, that your hangovers are gone and that "Lost...
