Paul Giamatti is set to join Stephen Colbert for an evening of conversation as part of the second annual North to Shore Festival in New Jersey this June.
The event, set for June 29 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, will raise money for Montclair Film, the New Jersey based arts organization with which Colbert has long been involved, which runs the Montclair Film Festival.
Onstage, the Late Show host and Holdovers star will discuss Giamatti’s long-running screen career. CBS debuted its newest late-night show last night and the numbers are.
After Midnight, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, was watched by an average of 686,000 viewers in the 12:37am hour, per Nielsen’s live+same day fast national data.
This compares to The Late Late Show with James Corden’s live+same day average of 806,000 for its final season.
Some caveats, the data does not yet include viewing from out-of-home, which will be available on Friday, most of the networks only really pay attention to the live+3 numbers, and it was After Midnight’s debut show. It will be interesting to see whether the game show format gets a bigger jump in delayed viewing than a traditional late-night show, which is slightly more topical.
After Midnight was up 31% across all viewers compared to the time period over the season, where Comics Unleashed has often aired while CBS waited to debut The Late Late Show replacement.

After Midnight finally made its debut January 16 in the timeslot formerly held by James Corden.
Hosted by comedian Taylor Tomlinson, the show is a reboot of the old Comedy Central game show @midnight, which ran for 600 episodes on the sibling Paramount-owned network. For those who didn’t see the original version, imagine a combination of Who’s Line Is It Anyway? and Tosh 2.0: it’s an internet-themed panel game show that challenges comedians to come up with the best yuks during a series of improv games.
For the premiere, Whitney Cummings battled it out against Aparna Nancherla (former writer on Late Night with Seth Meyers) and Kurt Braunohler (former host of IFC’s Bunk) in front of a studio audience for the grand prize of “my father’s approval,” quipped Tomlinson. “It is rare but winnable.”

CBS is making good on its promise to bring After Midnight to its late night lineup in early 2024.
The network will debut the show, hosted by comedian Taylor Tomlinson and based on Comedy Central’s @midnight, on Jan. 16 — or technically Jan. 17, as it debuts at 12:37 a.m. Et/Pt, but at the tail end of the Jan. 16 broadcast day.
The show will feature a panel of comics, actors and other celebrities (guest lineups will be announced later) discussing the internet buzz of the day in a game-show format. After Midnight’s mission statement is to be “the smartest show on television about the dumbest things on the internet.”

CBS kicks off a new era in late-night on Tuesday, January 16, when it launches “After Midnight” at 12:37 a.m. hosted by comic Taylor Tomlinson.
The series, which will rely on a rotating series of panelists to discuss the latest trends and memes in the digi-sphere, will follow an original hour of CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
“After Midnight,” based on the premise of “@midnight,” a program that ran on Comedy Central between 2013 and 2017,” breaks late-night tradition at CBS, which has long depended on a more typical program after 12:30 a.m. But network executives, realizing that the business of wee-hours TV is in flux, canceled “The Late Late Show” that has run for decades in that slot, hosted by people such as Tom Snyder, Craig Kilborn, Craig Ferguson and James Corden. “After Midnight” is said to cost significantly less to produce — a boon in an era when...

Nearly nine months after James Corden said goodbye to The Late Late Show, CBS has finally dated his replacement.
After Midnight, a reboot of the old Comedy Central game show @midnight, starring rising comedian Taylor Tomlinson, will premiere on Tuesday, January 16.
The show will, of course, air in The Late Late Show’s former spot at 12:37am, following The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
It comes almost a year after Deadline revealed that a reboot of @midnight, which ran for 600 episodes on the sibling Paramount-owned network, would replace Corden.
Tomlinson, who has recorded a number of Netflix specials, won the hosting job at the end of last year, beating X Mayo and Ricky Velez for the gig.
Jack Martin, who was the showrunner of all four seasons of @midnight, will serve as co-showrunner alongside Eric Pierce, who has exec produced series including CBS’ The Challenge: USA and The Wheel.

A recovered and 14-pound skinnier Colbert was back at his The Late Show desk on CBS last night for the first time since just before Thanksgiving, and he gave viewers a full account of his blood-poisoned pain-filled time off.

Stephen Colbert returned to The Late Show on Monday night after taking several weeks off to treat a ruptured appendix, revealing that he dropped 14 pounds after experiencing blood poisoning.
Appearing behind his desk for the first time in three weeks, the host and comedian spent the opening of Monday’s show detailing the medical emergency, from his last day on set to his trip to the St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, where his burst organ was treated by doctors and nurses. The Late Show host, whose last episode aired Nov. 22, also shared that they weren’t able to identify why his appendix had burst, but that he was on morphine and Dilaudid to manage his pain during recovery.
“It is so lovely to see all of you,” Colbert began. “The last time I was sitting at this desk, which was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I was in a heap of trouble.

Stephen Colbert Boards Series Adaptation Of Roger Zelanzny’s Sci-Fi Novels ‘The Chronicles Of Amber’
Stephen Colbert, a noted fantasy fan, has come on board to help develop and produce a series adaptation of Roger Zelazny’s The Chronicles of Amber.
Colbert, via his Spartina banner, will produce the adaptation alongside Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment.

Jennifer Garner has come a long way!

Stephen Colbert has a lot to look forward to.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert debuts Sept. 8, and the new headliner of CBS's late-night lineup has already booked an impressive guest list, including Amy Schumer, Scarlett Johansson, Jeb Bush and George Clooney.
But Colbert, who sat down with Time for this week's cover story, says he's most excited to talk to a very special blast from his past for a segment called "Who Am Me."
"My elementary school teacher, my favorite teacher from elementary school, is just so excited," he tells Time during his cover interview.
"I had such a crush on her.

Montclair, NJ, has 37,669 residents - one of them is Stephen Colbert - but no film festival. Until now, that is. The inaugural Montclair Film Festival will launch May 2nd and it is moving closer to its deadline by adding two important contributors -- its directors: Raphaela Neihausen and Thom Powers, best known for starting up New York's documentary film festival Docnyc as well as the IFC Center's documentary series Stranger than Fiction (Powers is also a programmer at the Toronto International Film Festival). The board of directors also includes Colbert and his wife Evelyn McGee-Colbert. The festival will include both fiction and documentary films and Colbert told The New York Times that it was likely he would be participating in plenty of festival events. Colbert hosted the festival's first major benefit last week at Montclair's Wellmont Theater. The Montclair Film Festival board, chaired by Wnet VP Bob Feinberg, was established.

We hope you enjoy these three reviews from Zoners who were in the audience for the recent performance of Harold Pinter’s “Old Times”, featuring Stephen Colbert and his wife Evelyn McGee-Colbert, at the benefit for the Luna Stage theater.
From Zoner Sw:
On January 9, 2011, I was very fortunate to have attended Stephen Colbert’s performance as the character “Deeley” in a benefit staged reading of Harold Pinter’s “Old Times” at the Luna Stage in West Orange, NJ. His wife, Evelyn McGee portrayed Deeley’s wife in the play, “Kate,” and the renowned, Tony Award winning actress Maryann Plunkett played Kate’s friend, “Anna,” who comes to visit. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the play, it is quite enigmatic and much has been written about its hidden meanings. It is considered one of Harold Pinter’s “memory” plays; and as such, the overall theme is...

Two pieces of very important news have come up about the performance by Stephen Colbert and his wife, Evelyn McGee Colbert benefiting the Luna Stage theater in West Orange, New Jersey this Sunday, January 9, 2011.:
1) According to a press release for ticket holders for the event:
Mr. Colbert and his wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert will be reading Harold Pinter’s ‘Old Times’, rather than the previously announced ‘Betrayal,’ also by Mr. Pinter. We recently learned that ‘Betrayal’ could not be made available to us for January 9th, so Mr. Colbert graciously agreed to read a different Pinter play.
Old Times has three characters – two women and a man. [Note: actress Maryann Plunkett will be playing the part of the second woman.] Because there is not another man in this reading, Jay O. Sanders, who was scheduled to be a reader, will not be joining us.
2) More tickets for the ‘Old Times’ performance have been released!
Visit the Luna Stage website to purchase tickets for this benefit performance.

Stephen Colbert, along with his wife Evelyn McGee-Colbert and Jay O. Sanders, will be featured in a special performance benefiting the Luna Stage theater in West Orange, New Jersey on January 9, 2011. The performance is of “Betrayal”, and here’s a description of the play according to the Luna Stage website:
[Harold] Pinter’s ‘Betrayal’, which premiered in 1978, is widely regarded as one of the British Nobel laureate’s greatest dramatic works. Inspired by Pinter’s own clandestine extramarital affair, it follows the seven-year affair involving a married couple, Emma and Robert, and Robert’s close friend Jerry, who is also married. It’s one of mankind’s oldest stories, but told through an innovative reverse-chronology structure, moving backwards in time from 1977 to Jerry’s first drunken declaration of his feelings for Emma in 1968 – always letting the audience draw its own conclusions about ethics and morality.
Sounds interesting -maybe like ‘The English Patient...
