The first (and hopefully not last) season of “Everything I Know About Love” runs for seven episodes. It’s an odd length for a TV season, but this is a show where that lack of a round number makes perfect sense. It’s such an effective form of TV-as-memoir that every episode feels like it could be its last. A snapshot in time of four friends living in London in the summer of 2012, the Peacock original captures the feeling of a group of people who recognize their whole lives are ahead of them, made from chapters that could start or end at any minute. Packed with mid-20s energy and angst, occasional flippancy and real heart, “Everything I Know About Love” justifies giving a date barely a decade past a full and thoughtful revisit.

In a chic Islington restaurant, Dolly Alderton asks me where I met my partner. While most people will politely smile and half-listen to the answer, Alderton — who eats love stories for breakfast — virtually squeals at the meet-cute I serve up, which I had a hunch she of all people would appreciate.
The London-born Alderton is one of the most recognizable columnists in the U.K., and has built a career as a journalist and author on, well, love. And, really, you would struggle to find someone who flits as effortlessly between waxing poetic about Joachim Trier’s “The Worst Person in the World” and quoting Rob Reiner’s “When Harry Met Sally.”
Alderton this week makes her screenwriting debut with a Working Title-produced adaptation of her hugely popular memoir, “Everything I Know About Love,” which premieres on BBC One on Tuesday night. (A U.S. deal for the show is still in the works.

Today is not only International Women’s Day, but a day when many are choosing to strike for A Day Without Women, an economic protest to remind the nation just how important women’s contributions to society are. And as part of that, IndieWire has assembled a powerful list of shows, all currently streaming online, that would not exist without the brilliant female creators at their center. This is the great TV that happens when women show up. Don’t take it for granted.

My Mad Fat Diary star Jodie Comer (represented by Independent Talent) leads the cast in Thirteen, the first new series to come to BBC Three in 2016 since it moved online.
She stars as 26 year old Ivy Moxham who escapes from the cellar that's been her prison for the last thirteen years. Returning home to her family and to her life, this is only the beginning of the story.
Aneurin Barnard (represented by The Artists Partnership) plays Tim Hobson, Ivy’s boyfriend and one of the people helping her rehabilitate herself as she re-enters society.
Thirteen explores how to pick up the threads of a life half-lived and how to survive as a family under the greatest pressure. How to feel again, chance love again. It is a psychological drama about who to trust when you can't even trust yourself. Ivy Moxam is a young girl. Ivy Moxam is a woman.

Written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley
Directed by China Moo-Young
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on AMC
For much of the first season of Humans, various forces in favour of and against Synth consciousness have been building, with certain segments, like Dr. Millican and the Hawkins family, caught in the middle of it all. Last week’s episode started seeing casualties as the forces began colliding, with Dr. Millican’s death and the potential arrest of the Hawkins family as Hobb finally tracked down Leo and his Synth family. This week’s episode reveals Hobb’s true plan, while delving deeper into what drives Karen and Laura as both become key components in unfolding events, in a season finale that manages to close things off effectively while leaving a lot of exciting possibilities for the show’s second season.

Humans, Season One, “Episode Seven”
Written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley
Directed by China Moo-Young
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on AMC
The awakening of Mia last week represented a major breakthrough for Leo and his group, especially coupled with Fred’s escape from Hobb’s home. While the desire for Leo and his group to determine the consciousness code and make it available for other synths hit a roadblock with Max’s sacrifice, the open willingness of Laura and Mattie to help proved that the group had allies they could trust. This week’s episode sees Leo’s group and the Hawkins family connect further as Karen’s history is revealed and a key character is lost in an entertaining episode that sets up an exciting first season finale.
It’s intriguing to note Karen’s anti-synth stance this week, especially when contrasted with Niska’s pro-synth stance.

- For the fifth year Screen International has put out their annual list of the next big things in UK Cinema. The UK Stars of Tomorrow is considered a major launching pad for fresh talent both in front and behind the camera. Past honorees include the wanted James McAvoy, the irresistible Emily Blunt, and the prince himself Ben Barnes. Unfortunately the only equivalent we have here in the states is the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, but I digress. This year’s list features some 40 actors, directors, animators, writers and producers vying for industry glory. Four names I think you should keep an eye on: Carey MulliganAfter making her debut in Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice, she will be seen in both Jim Sheridan's upcoming Brothers and alongside Christian Bale and Johnny Depp in Michael Mann's gangster flick Public Enemies – not bad!
