In his blog, Jim Ross recently speculated on some big returns for WrestleMania 32, stating: ‘The two most viable stars that WWE could bring in for WM32 or so it seems might be Goldberg and Batista. Austin and Hbk are adamant that their wrestling days are history, Hogan is still on the outs with the company plus he doesn’t need to wrestle a match with his back condition and Rock has movie commitments I’m told as does Ronda Rousey’.
Although appearing to rule out several big names, the most interesting possibility must surely be Goldberg. The WCW legend hasn’t appeared in WWE since his infamous match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania Xx in 2004, which was the end of what is generally seen as a tremendously disappointing run. Many fans would certainly be eager to see the return of one of the icons of the Monday Night Wars,...

WWE.com have confirmed that Bray Wyatt will face Ryback at this Sunday’s Payback PPV.
It was a match that has been expected for a few weeks after Wyatt attacked Ryback randomly on Raw on April 27. That led to another attack on Smackdown.
Following the many promos by Wyatt, Ryback spoke up last week on Raw and then this past week he took the fight to Wyatt, which caused Wyatt to leave the ring and Ryback stood tall on Raw. The match should have been made official during Monday’s Raw, but for whatever reason WWE announced it on their website today.
Both performers have come a long way from when Wyatt was known as Husky Harris and Ryback was known as Skip Sheffield. They have reached a point in their careers where they have become known commodities in WWE. The crowd may boo Wyatt because he’s a heel,...

Just a short while ago Ryback was looking like yet another can’t-miss prospect that WWE totally found a way to miss on. After exploding out of the gate with squash matches over local jobbers and being inserted into the main event rather quickly, his push was neutered and he was shunted back down the card, eventually becoming mired in a tag team with Curtis Axel. His run as a Paul Heyman guy was a failure and before long an injury put the former Skip Sheffield out of action for months.
When Ryback made his triumphant return to WWE the fans were quick to jump back on his bandwagon, and he was immediately made into a featured player in the Survivor Series main event storyline. The hunger for new stars has the fans accepting of The Big Guy and the “Goldberg” chants have almost completely been replaced by...

Ryan Reeves would first make his mark in the WWE on the first season of Nxt (back when it was a competition show for a contract on the main roster where the superstars would be paired with a pro to mentor them). He was known then as Skip Sheffield, a happy-go-lucky cowboy that had an impressive physique with strength and agility to go with it. He would then join all of the other first season participants of Nxt to form The Nexus; however, soon after the start of The Nexus, Sheffield would break his ankle and be out of action for several months.
In April of 2012, Sheffield returned, but with a new look, a new attitude, and a new name. Ryback. For several months following Ryback’s debut, he would crush jobbers one and two at a time. Many people thought he drew a lot of comparisons to...

In 2010, Ryan Reeves was Skip Sheffield, who was the powerhouse of The Nexus stable, which had a promising future in WWE. In 2012, Reeves was given the name Ryback, and he quickly became one of the most heavily-pushed wrestlers on the WWE roster. He would squash smaller opponents, take on two or three opponents at once, and demolished everyone who got in his way.
This stemmed from an earlier rumor from 2010 or so, when it was believed that Vince McMahon saw something in Mr. Reeves. Vince believed that he could be WWE’s #2 man, as an unstoppable monster; essentially WWE’s answer to Goldberg (more on him later)
Fast forward two years later, where is our friend Ryback? Currently sidelined following a hernia surgery. But before that happened, Mr. Reeves was jobbing to other tag teams alongside Curtis Axel. How did this happen? How can one that was once...

United we stand, divided we fall; so goes the old saying, but nowhere is this truer than in the world of professional wrestling. Though individual Superstars will always ultimately be the focus of the company, it’s no accident that the hottest draws in WWE at moment are The Shield and The Wyatt Family.
It’s great timing, then, that this latest release celebrating the greatest factions in wrestling has appeared just as these two groups are setting the WWE on fire, though it is a little surprising that they are both omitted from the main feature and instead only included as Blu-ray extras.
That said, if you accept that the main focus of this set is to celebrate factions that once existed but have long gone then it makes sense and there is plenty else to celebrate and look back upon, even if the inclusion of Evolution is the...

In a bizarre turn of events on Saturday evening, WWE superstar Ryback claimed on Twitter that he had been released from the company (among other controversial things) before deleting all of his tweets timeline.
The tweet claiming he was gone from the WWE came after a torrid of strange rants and revelation such as; false finishes he botched, how grateful he is for WWE fans making him rich and that he was disciplined for recently giving Dolph Ziggler a concussion. He also had a pop at WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston with the tweet; ”the name Big E actually refers to his bra size!”.
Here’s the release tweet;
And a selection of crazy tweets he had sent earlier;
“I once botched my finish on live tv against Tensai. Not one to make excuses but was deathly sick had not eaten all day and he sandbagged me”

The inaugural WWE event, Battleground, certainly lives up to its name! World Heavyweight Championship Hardcore Match
Alberto Del Rio defends his World title here against the challenger, Rob Van Dam under hardcore rules. Ricardo is in Rvd’s corner for the match. The fans are into the match early on with a number of signature moves from Van Dam, including a Ddt onto a chair, a moonsault from the ringside barrier and the introduction of a ladder which gets a loud reaction. Del Rio hits a good looking back stabber and a high kick to the back of Van Dam’s head.

We’re 24 hours removed from WWE Hell in a Cell 2013. Welcome to this week’s write-up of WWE Raw.
The show begins with a video package showing Daniel Bryan being kicked in the mouth by Shawn Michaels and losing to Randy Orton, who became the new WWE Champion.
John Cena is welcomed back as the New World Champion, and the fans, as they have for ten years now, are very mixed. A lot of boos from the adults in the audience, but the kids are having fun seeing the pink-shirt wearing hero back on television. I wish I could echo their cheers, but sadly I am not too happy about Cena’s return. I will say though, it does add some “oomph” to the World Title, being around Cena’s shoulder. The announcers put Cena over like their lived depend on it. Cena takes the microphone and proclaims that he’s back.

WWE Monday Night Raw opens tonight with Hhh standing in the middle of the ring in his suit and tie. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rolling are standing beside the ring with their championship belts draped over their shoulders. We’re live.
Hhh introduces the “Face of WWE”, Randy Orton, who hits the ring to pretty decent heat from the crowd before grabbing the microphone and talking about how Daniel Bryan is nothing more than a “B+ player”. Hhh tells the crowd that Daniel Bryan is similar to what Doink The Clown was and that Doink was never champion because it would have been bad for business, the same as if Bryan were to win the WWE title. Bryan’s music plays while the new corporation continue to insult the former American Dragon, the fans pop loud for Bryan who stands on the stage in his ring gear and...

Recently in WWE we have seen many superstars change their image and name. Joe Hennig went from Michael McGillicutty to Curtis Axel in order to save his career, Ryan Reeves went from Skip Sheffield to Ryback and has gained more recognition since even main eventing Extreme Rules against John Cena for the WWE Championship.
More recently we have seen Windham Rotunda change his name from Husky Harris to Bray Wyatt, although this has been a huge positive and lift for Wyatt’s career there has been chants of ‘Husky Harris’ through the arena most notably on his debut.
In this article I’m going to look at the history of name changing in the WWE and bring to you the superstars who have altered their persona for success.

With news of John Cena possibly being injured again coming just as Cm Punk has also taken time off, it seems that the WWE might be in need of pushing some new blood in the main event scene once again. Whilst Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler have been working to solidify themselves in the main event picture, whether or not they can reach the same levels of stardom as the likes of Cena and Punk – arguably the WWE’s two biggest media draws on the active roster – is doubtful. With that in mind, could the likes of the Shield, Ryback and Daniel Bryan be the next in line to be the WWE’s new darlings?
Certainly, there are reasons to believe that any of those five men could be next on the list to move up the order, with all of them having been pushed in main event roles to...

Gong! The Dead Man finally returned to WWE television last night to set up his next big Wrestlemania match against … wait for it … Cm Punk. Shock horror.
Punk had to earn his shot at The Streak though by defeating Randy Orton, Sheamus and The Big Show which was a smart choice given Punk’s string of high profile loses since Royal Rumble.
Seeing ‘Taker emerge from the 3 giant letters on the old school Raw set was enough to send chills down your spine and made Wrestlemania 29 about a thousand times more exciting.
This was Old School Raw on case you didn’t know. WWE should have used this as a chance to return to an ‘Old School’ one hour format cutting out all the crappy filler we’re sitting through every week.
Antonio Cesaro was jobbed out to Ryback yet again. At lead this week he got to last over...

What’s big, mean, nasty and wears a unitard? The World’s Strongest Man that’s what. Mark Henry rolled back onto Raw looking meaner than ever, taking apart Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara in short (pun intended) order. Some of Henry’s thunder was lost though because of last week’s surprise return so it would have made more sense to have Henry return at the Royal Rumble, or maybe even Elimination Chamber PPV.
With Henry a former World Heavyweight Champion my concerns for Jack Swagger making it to Elimination Chamber have resurfaced. If Henry must destroy anyone then please make sure it’s Khali. He looked bigger than ever too!
Speaking of Swagger he squashed Santino in about 10 seconds. Nothing to get excited about but to be fair 6 months ago Santino would have won this one.
I wonder if WWE realises how insignificant it makes Antonio Cesaro look...

This past year can’t claim to be one of the greatest in WWE history. It has been fairly bland in approach and execution but to its credit, there have been some seriously surprising stand out achievements placed in the past 365 days. Raw 1000 obviously, Big Show finally showing some true character, Cm Punk being the champion for its entirety and for John Cena not winning a belt for an entire calendar year. That in itself is pretty huge.
But most importantly for the future of the ‘E is the talent they have pushed and introduced us to who will go on to be staples in the company for years to come. WWE is going through a transitional stage at this time. Some of its bigger stars have left or become stale and its WWE’s own fault that a yearlong transition has been required. WWE has found itself in quite the predicament since turning the Ryback experiment up several notches over the last few weeks. Now that the former Skip Sheffield is in the main event against WWE Champion Cm Punk at Hell In A Cell with an undefeated streak in full flow, one has to wonder how Vince McMahon’s pet project will remain undefeated, without jeopardising the inevitable Cm Punk match with The Rock at Royal Rumble.

After completing his thirty day suspension for a first violation of WWE’s Talent Wellness Program on Wednesday, Evan Bourne returned to a WWE ring last night at a Raw house show event in Sunrise, Flordia. Bourne took on the United States Champion Dolph Ziggler in a title match and lost.
Bourne was suspended from competing whilst still half of the WWE Tag Team Champions and it’s unknown how long he and Kofi Kingston will stay with the gold in the near future.
Meanwhile Skip Sheffield also returned at Florida house show. This was his first match in almost two years since breaking his leg and ankle and having needed three surgeries to get him back into ring condition. He took on and defeated Alex Riley with a Clothesline from Hell. Reports are saying Sheffield was in great shape and looking better than ever with shades of Jbl.
