The gang is all here as James Gunn shares the first cast photo for Superman: Legacy.
Gunn took to Instagram on Thursday to post an image taken following the first table read for Warner Bros.’ upcoming superhero film that is set for theatrical release on July 11, 2025. The pic includes himself and Peter Safran, who were named co-chairs of DC Studios in 2022, in addition to castmembers including David Corenswet (the new Man of Steel), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) and Nicholas Hoult (sporting a shaved head to play Lex Luthor).
“After the table read with the #Superman cast,” Gunn captioned the post. “Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time! What a wonderful day.”

James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy is one of the most hotly anticipated projects as it will reset the Dcu. As a result, several aspects of the film from its casting choices to plot threads have been the subject of intense speculation among fans. The film is nearing the start of production and a new rumor suggests that Gunn has now altered one of its rumored plot points.
James Gunn on the Inside of You podcast
Initially, it was reported that Superman: Legacy would feature the titular superhero dealing with a conflict in the Middle East. However, a new report from insider Grace Randolph now hints that the supposed Middle East plot point has been changed with Eastern Europe now set to take its place. Here is what Randolph said and why Gunn’s film would be better off with the rumored change.

The reboot of the DC Extended Universe is in full development with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm. Of course, the end of the ‘Snyderverse’ marked the change of the actors and recasts that had already been announced. Recently, it was reported that Gal Gadot wouldn’t return for the role of Wonder Woman, and most notably, Henry Cavill won’t return as Superman for new projects in the new era of DC Extended Universe.
This was huge news since Cavill was a great Superman and one of the fan favorites, but with a new era on the horizon, new blood will get the chance to portray famous DC characters. ‘Superman: Legacy‘ is the one project everyone is excited about, and it is currently in pre-production, with new actors already being announced.

After finishing his work on Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trilogy, James Gunn has switched his focus on ‘Superman: Legacy,’ the first movie set in the DC Universe franchise that he and Peter Safran planned as a soft-reboot of DC Extended Universe. The movie is currently in pre-production, and Gunn announced the filming should begin in January 2024 unless the imminent actors’ strike delays the production.
Gunn recently announced that David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan joined the movie as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane. However, unlike previous standalone ‘Superman’ movies, this one will feature more guest characters, including Mr. Terrific, Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Metamorpho.
Some fans shared their confusion with so many superheroes set to be introduced right in the first Dcu movie, and some even compared this situation with Black Adam, in which Dwayne Johnson played the titular character, accompanied by four Justice Society of America members.

Oliver Queen and his sidekicks won’t be the only DC superheroes in Star City when Arrow returns for its fourth season this fall. According to THR, Ben and Kate and Key and Peele actor Echo Kellum has joined the series for a recurring role as brilliant Olympian-turned-superhero Mister Terrific.
In the comics, Mister Terrific is the alter ego of Michael Holt, who’s considered the third-smartest man on Earth in the DC pantheon (after Batman and Lex Luthor). Not only is he an Olympic gold medal winner, but he’s a master of six martial arts and and has fourteen Ph.Ds – in subjects like engineering, physics, law, psychology, chemistry, political science and mathematics. And as if that weren’t enough, he’s a self-made millionaire too. So, you could say he truly is terrific.

Less than a week after the roles were announced at Comic-Con, The CW’s Arrow has cast both Mr. Terrific and Anarky.

Echo Kellum, whose TV credits include Ben & Kate and Sean Saves the World, will play Curtis Holt aka Mr. Terrific. Though his namesake in DC Comics lore — Michael Holt, the second Mr. Terrific — was an Olympic decathlete/black belt/all-around brainiac (but not Brainiac) and eventual Justice Society leader, Arrow will introduce Curtis as a tech whiz who works for Felicity at Palmer Technologies, EW.com reports.

As the new season of Arrow approaches we get more and more news for what the series has in store later this year. Today brings news that one of my favorite comic characters is finally getting the live-action treatment: Mr. Terrific. Come inside to learn more!
Actor Echo Kellum will be talking on the role of Michael Holt on the new season of Arrow. Supposedly he’ll be working for Palmer Industries working for Felicity. If you’ve never heard of the character I would recommend you do some light reading on him. Michael Holt is an Olympic level athlete with 14 Ph.D’s and having a natural aptitude for having natural aptitudes. Echo Kellum is an actor and comedian who was previously in the sitcom Ben and Kate.
The actor from his Twitter said “Every since I was a young Blerd, I've always dreamed of playing a super hero.

Batman’s got The Joker. Spider-Man has Doctor Octopus. The Flash has an entire rogue’s gallery. The Fantastic Four used to have Doctor Doom, but now that Marvel’s banished the Fox-Four from their universe Doom’s annoying everybody, without priority.
Superman has a bald businessman/scientist with a severe ego problem.
I never thought Lex Luthor was much of a villain. In fact, when I was in my teens I was pretty certain I could take him. Evidently, from time to time the folks at DC must have felt the same way. He’s been put into super-power-bestowing armor, he’s been given super-powers and he’s hired or co-opted powered super-villains to do his dirty work.
Lex has been an evil scientist, an evil businessman, an evil president, an outer-world hero, and a domestic hero. He’s been a picker, a grinner, a lover and a sinner.

It’s time for the Winter Olympics! That special time every four years where the world tunes in to watch athletes from all over compete for medals. I myself am reminded that perhaps I should take up running or some form of exercise other than getting up to grab myself a new book to read. Until that fateful day however, I bring to you this list of six comic book characters that were involved in the Olympics in one form or another.

First on the list is Jon Sable. A now freelance mercenary who previously was an athlete in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. After having witnessed the terrorist outrages in the Munich games, he married a fellow athlete and moved to Rhodesia. Becoming a game warden and a tourist guide for safari tours. As a fan of Batman, I'll pick up anything that has to do with the Dark Knight's extended family. Therefore, I've been keeping up with the adventures of Huntress and Power Girl as they make their way through the crime-ridden streets of our universe and try to find a way back to Earth 2. I was excited to dive into World's Finest Volume 2: Hunt and Be Hunted, but walked away a bit disappointed.
In World's Finest Volume 2: Hunt and Be Hunted, Power Girl and Huntress's search for a way home to Earth 2 is interrupted by enigmatic assailants working for or with their previous ally, Michael Holt, a.k.a. Mister Terrific. What sort of ties could he have to a group who want to see the two heroes dead?

'A Gifted Man' is a medical drama, but, the way actor Patrick Wilson describes his character, neurosurgeon Michael Holt, he could well be talking about a superhero. A blunt, take-charge superhero.
"Do you want the kind of doctor who's going to say, 'Listen, these are your options, and if it were me, I might do this. What do you think?'" Wilson said in an August interview about his CBS show. "Or do you want someone who'll go, 'This is how it's going to go down. I'm going to do this, and this is going to make you better.' You kind of want that."
Holt is indeed gifted in almost superhuman ways -- and he has the gleaming, high-end medical practice to prove it -- but the visit he got from his dead wife in the show's pilot deeply unnerved him, and...

Patrick Wilson stopped by 'Today' (weekdays, 9Am Et on NBC) to talk about his new CBS series 'A Gifted Man' and his character Michael Holt, a cocky, hot-shot surgeon whose ex-wife appears to him as a ghost, inspiring him to give back.
Wilson said it was Holt's complexity that really appealed to him. "I felt like if I was going to do TV, then at least I wanted it to be a real conflicted guy, something I could really find my way around. This guy, on the outside, he's hard-edged and arrogant but I knew he had this other side going on."
The show was originally going to film in Los Angeles, but Wilson wasn't prepared to leave or relocate his young family. CBS moved the entire production to the East coast to accommodate him. Wilson said he was "humbled" their decision.

A Gifted Man Season 1 Episode 1 Pilot Nielsen Ratings. The TV show A Gifted Man stars Patrick Wilson, Jennifer Ehle, and Emmy winner Margo Martindale, with the pilot episode directed by Jonathan Demme made its premiere Friday night on CBS, to not too overwhelming numbers according to Nielsen ratings: A Gifted Man (1.4/5 in 18-49, 9.3 million viewers overall). It came just behind the season premiere of Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares (1.6/6, 3.8 million)–still more than doubled the competition of overall viewers. A Gifted Man had a 2.9 rating among women 25-54.

There's truth to the old saying that opposites attract, and that truth was at the heart of the central relationship in 'A Gifted Man' (Fri., 8Pm Et on CBS). Friday nights on CBS are no strangers to ghostly apparitions, but this may be the first time that a ghost is one of the stars of the show.

Patrick Wilson is one of those actors who could be easy to hate: He's almost too handsome, totally charming and crazy talented. But he's also so darn nice that you can't help but root for him and seek out his work, the latest of which is his new CBS drama, "A Gifted Man."
In the show Wilson plays world-renowned neurosurgeon Michael Holt, whose meticulously organized, privileged life is thrown upside down when he starts seeing and interacting with his recently deceased ex-wife, who for some reason can't move into the afterlife and spends her time trying to teach Michael that life is about more than neurosurgery.
MTV News recently caught up with Wilson to get some insight into what to expect from the show, how he's handling all that medical jargon, and if he's ready for people to treat him like a real-life doctor.

There are worse ways to spend a Friday night than watching CBS' new supernatural medical drama, "A Gifted Man." The premise is, we admit, a bit of a stretch (and probably why it ended up stranded on a Friday night) -- but the execution is pitch perfect.
"A Gifted Man" has some unmistakable forebears. Patrick Wilson, in his first TV outing, plays Michael Holt, a super-talented neurosurgeon who also happens to be an unpleasant egomaniac ("House" anyone?).
Then, of course there's the whole matter of Michael's ex-wife who -- Spoiler Alert! -- is a ghost. Yes, really. Though unlike Patrick Swayze (we couldn't help but invoke "Ghost") who hung around to protect Demi Moore, Jennifer Ehle's Anna seems to be tasked with helping Michael to become a better man, perhaps one she wouldn't have divorced.
Those two things are both the show's raison d'etre and its biggest hurdles. The...

In the latest of our comprehensive series of reviews of DC Comics' 52 relaunched titles, we take a look at Mister Terrific #1. Who's it by?
Mister Terrific #1 is written by Eric Wallace (Titans) and drawn by Gianluca Gugliotta (Flashpoint: Lois Lane and the Resistance). What's the history?
The original Mister Terrific was Terry Sloane, a genius millionaire with a photographic memory invented by Charles Reizenstein and Everett E. Hibbard in 1942's Sensation Comics #1. He fought as a member of the Justice Society of America and the All-Star Squadron before his death.
School is back in session and the summer movie season has wrapped, which means the pop-culture focus temporarily shifts to television until the annual slate of Oscar contenders and holiday blockbusters hit theaters.
This fall, though, you'll notice the new television season has a host of big movie stars transitioning to primetime, either for the first time, like Luke Wilson, or in a splashy return, like Ashton Kutcher.
While the majority of film actors are headlining high-profile series, a couple of them are lining up for key supporting roles in ensemble casts. Take a look at these 15 familiar faces and find out where you can catch them on the small screen this year.
Zooey Deschanel, 'New Girl'
There's no other actress who can combine beautiful and quirky with adorable and dorky (adorkable) like Deschanel can. The "500 Days of Summer" actress joins her sister Emily (of "Bones" fame) on...

Patrick Wilson
Patrick Wilson sees dead people.
Okay, Wilson himself doesn't actually see the deceased. But Michael Holt, his character in the new CBS drama A Gifted Man does. However, before you start thinking Wilson is poised to be the next Patricia Arquette running around solving crimes with the help of the dead each week, you should know it's only one specific person his character sees — his recently deceased ex-wife.
Why is Michael suddenly seeing his dead ex? No doubt the show will spell that over the first season, but judging from the first episode she's hanging around both to get Michael to tie up her loose ends, and to get him to loosen up as well.
Wilson recently appeared on a panel for A Gifted Man at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour where AfterElton had a chance to get a little one on one time with the actor.

My prediction for the fall 2011 season: record-breaking heat, with a 100% chance of sexy. Well, on TV anyway. See, even as the weather begins to cool down, the small screen will be heating up as a mixture of hotties both established and up-and-coming will grace our TV sets in the quickly-approaching crop of fall shows.
From fairytale princes and teenage witches to supernatural hunters and ‘60s playboys, this fall season offers up a titillating assortment of hunky new characters – all of them brought to life by a group of fetching performers who will no doubt have us drooling at our TV screens come September. Below I’ve compiled a list of 12 to get your tongues wagging.
Note: The 2011 fall season is also lamentably short on performers of color, which is sadly reflected in the following list. Nevertheless, while only three of the twelve actors I highlight below belong to a racial minority,...

Former Mad Men actress Cara Buono will guest star in CBS's new medical drama A Gifted Man later this year. Buono has signed on to appear in at least one episode of the new series as a charter jet pilot suspected of having carpal tunnel syndrome. The actress is best known for her recurring role on the fourth season of AMC's Mad Men as psychologist Faye Miller, as well as a short guest stint on Brothers & Sisters earlier this year. In the episode, Buono's character will meet the series' protagonist, neurosurgeon Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), at a cocktail party. "This is a doctor at the height of his career, (more)...

'Mad Men' actress Cara Buono will guest star on the new CBS drama 'A Gifted Man' this fall.
Buono, whom 'Mad Men' fans will recall had a recurring season 4 role as psychologist and advertising consultant Faye Miller, will play a very different kind of professional woman in an October episode of 'A Gifted Man.' Like Miller, her character is self-assured and strong, but on the CBS show, she's a charter-jet pilot who meets neurosurgeon Michael Holt at a cocktail party, and he first thinks she may have carpal-tunnel syndrome but finds that there may be more going on.
The medical drama 'A Gifted Man' is one of my favorite pilots for fall. You might find that surprising, given the description of the show, which could be summed up -- without giving too much away -- in this way:...

Although CBS fares a little better in the geek spectrum of tv scheduling than ABC does – CBS has The Big Bang Theory and A Person of Interest – like ABC, CBS also has only one show on its fall lineup that actually falls into the sci-fi/fantasy/horror genre, and A Gifted Man is it. It will premiere on the exceedingly popular Friday, September 23, though fortunately this one is at 8/7c.

Pablo Schreiber has joined the cast of CBS' new drama A Gifted Man as a series regular. He plays Anton, a shaman and New Age spiritual healer to Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson). Schreiber was a guest star in the Jonathan Demme-directed pilot and is now being upped to regular. Schreiber, repped by ICM and D/F Management, is currently filming a five-episode arc on Weeds and also stars in the upcoming feature Recalled. Stephen Root has been cast as a new regular in the FX drama pilot Outlaw Country, which is undergoing tweaking and some reshoots directed by Adam Arkin. Here it is. The full 52 titles that DC Will debut at the end of the summer. There are a lot of exciting new beginnings for old favorites like Swamp Thing and Sgt. Rock, and the whole lineup is chock full of some of the greatest names in the business. I’m a little disappointed that DC burned 11 of its new titles on the Bat-family alone. That seems a little bit of a waste. Especially since 4 of those titles actually feature Bruce Wayne/Batman in them. I love Bats as much as the next guy, but 4 titles? Really? I thought the whole renumbering was supposed to fix things like that.
In any event, here are the 52. I’m pretty excited all around. Let me hear your thoughts in the comments below.

As the networks roll out their fall schedules, CBS gets a chance to spend a lot of its day milling around the free snack table while surfing for new Apps. Whatever your thoughts might be on whether or not CBS has hot women, and is or isn't a network for old people (which it A- does, and B- nevertheless largely is), the fact is that they aren't rolling out a lot of new shows. P.S. don't write letters, if you haven't heard about CBS claiming it isn't for old people (or just for old people, I suppose) and has "hot women," that's not my fault.
You could go either way with the general idea that CBS is only putting out five new shows, while the other networks seem to have more new shows than they can juggle at once. On the one hand, CBS might be resting on its...

CBS is the latest network unveiling its 2011-2012 primetime schedule. Five new shows, "Person of Interest", "Two Broke Girls", "Unforgettable", "How to Be a Gentleman" and "A Gifted Man", are enlisted in the line-up and have already got previews.
Coming from executive producer J.J. Abrams, "Person of Interest" follows a presumed dead former-cia agent (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York, using state-of-the-art surveillance technology. The crime drama will air every Thursday at 9 P.M.
"Two Broke Girls" is a comedy starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs as two strikingly different young waitresses who form an unlikely friendship in the hopes of launching a successful business. Max is a sassy, streetwise girl who works two jobs just to get by, while sophisticated Caroline reluctantly gives waitressing a shot after having a run of bad luck. The show is put on Monday at 8:30 P.

Chicago – What do you do when your iron grip on success is getting weaker? Shake things up. That’s what CBS is doing this Fall by shuffling their line-up more significantly than any other network and adding five new series, which are detailed below.

The new dramas include J.J. Abrams’ “Person of Interest,” “Unforgettable,” and “A Gifted Man,” and the new comedies are called “2 Broke Girls” & “How to Be a Gentleman.”

CBS announced its 2011-2012 primetime fall schedule today. The most anticipated show for me is J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest starring Jim Caviezel, Michael Emmerson and Taraji P. Henson. I am also a huge fan of Kat Dennings, so it will be neat to see how 2 Broke Girls turns out. There are a total of three new dramas, two new comedies, and 19 returning series.

Two and a Half Men is staying put and CSI is getting the boot.
CBS unveiled its fall scheduled keeping Big Bang Theory on Thursdays and shifts veteran CSI from its longtime Thursday night anchor slot.
The network announced several new drams. J.J. Abrams’ Person of Interest stars Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson as an ex-cia agent and a billionaire who team to stop crimes. Interest gets to take over the coveted CSI spot on Thursdays. CBS also shifted The Good Wife to Sundays. “To move CSI out of that time period you need big guns and we do,” says CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler.
