Hollywood may not have gotten the 45th Potus it wanted, but late-night TV hosts reminded their viewers life will go on. James Corden, Seth, Meyers, Samantha Bee, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien all offered laughs and love last night on their first shows since the presidential election results shocked the world. “People who voted for Trump are happy today, people who voted for Hillary are disappointed,” Corden said during his turn. “But listen, no matter who you voted for, the important thing is you all got stickers.” Later, the “Late Late Show” host’s message became.

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
Gabrielle Union joined Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show," and promptly got down to business singing the morning announcements to a fake high school. Two things: one, she's actually really good at singing. And two, Jimmy Fallon needs to grow himself an actual mustache immediately.
Over on "Late Night," Olivia Wilde took part in Seth Meyer's Actathalon, which basically consisted of her doing an obstacle course full of cliche acting moments. The best part? Her screaming "Whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyy" after finding out her pet fish died.
Over "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Kirsten Dunst chatted about "Fargo" - more specifically, how she had to gain weight for her role in the show. Turns...

Special Mention: Shock Corridor
Written and directed by Samuel Fuller
USA, 1963
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Shock Corridor stars Peter Breck as Johnny Barrett, an ambitious reporter who wants to expose a killer hiding out at the local insane asylum. In order to solve the case, he must pretend to be insane so they have him committed. Once in the asylum, Barrett sets to work, interrogating the other patients and keeping a close eye on the staff. But it’s difficult to remain a sane man living in an insane place, and the closer Barrett gets to the truth, the closer he gets to insanity.
Shock Corridor is best described as an anti-establishment drama that at times is surprisingly quite funny despite the dark material. The film deals with some timely issues of the era, specifically the atom bomb, anti-communism, and racism. It features everything from a raving female love-crazed nympho ward,...

Jimmy Fallon pulled a hamstring midway through The Tonight Show monologue Tuesday, but thankfully there was someone in the building who could serve as emergency substitute. Jay Leno returned to the show where he spent over 20 years as host to deliver a five-minute monologue of political humor.
"The election is getting nasty. Ralph Nader called Hillary a corporatist and a militarist. Isn't that incredible … Ralph Nader still alive," Leno joked. Leno also called a presidential showdown between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump the battle "between the Tortoise and the Bad Hair,...

A super-sick Seth MacFarlane proved how much of a gamer he is, showing up to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” despite having half a voice — at best. For a man who makes his money doing voices, that’s a problem. MacFarlane, however, started his career in a far more quiet pursuit: animating. His Tuesday host Jimmy Kimmel had the idea to both kill airtime and save Seth’s voice by having both sketch a couple from the audience. “This is really good television, watching people draw other people,” Kimmel sarcastically quipped. Jay Leno may still be smarting from that time Jimmy Kimmel slayed him during the Jay/Conan "Tonight Show" feud, since he's now dissing Kimmel's "mean-based" humor as the source of his not-quite-"Tonight" ratings. It's time for a late-night catfight!
Jimmy, a huge David Letterman fan, was probably already anti-Jay after the first "Tonight Show" feud between Jay and Dave, when they fought for Carson's chair. When Jay ended up in a late night battle with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy appeared to back Team Coco. Jimmy broke out his not-so-flattering Jay impression on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," then pretty much destroyed Jay -- to his face -- as Jay's own guest on "The Jay Leno Show." Here's how that went:

She said she thought she could confirm because director Tim Burton did an interview on camera when he was promoting "Big Eyes" and he said they were doing it. She was surprised, since she thought it was hush-hush, but since he said it, she figured she could confirm it. Winona said she didn't know much more than that. Also, here's a funny aside, she...

Let's kick things off with Cara Delevingne, who swung by "Late Night" to chat about playing Enchantress in "Suicide Squad." Apparently, Cara got so worked up during her audition that she felt straight-up murderous. Also, it should be noted that Seth's thoughts on the "Suicide Squad" trailer are as follows: "everyone looked liked they were about to lick someone or be licked." Accurate.
Prepare your body, because last night was the 9th Annual "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Pedestrian Belly Flop Competition, which Jimmy says "works the same way prostitution works." That's probably all you need to know.

Jude Law was on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and he and Jimmy played a giant game of pool (billiards) bowling, which actually looks really fun and should definitely be a new national pastime. Sit down, baseball.

Bryce Dallas Howard was also on "The Tonight Show" and she said she wanted to interview Jimmy about their movie, since he has a cameo in "Jurassic World." Probably smart of them to give him a cameo since it made him gush...

Real comedy still happens on late night, we can prove it. If you like Conan comedy gold, Fallon friendliness, cutesy Corden, list-making Letterman, kneedy Kimmel, and all the rest, I hope you’ll enjoy this column too.
Last night on late night, there was no Letterman. Conan gave his staff at “Conaco” a performance review, Jimmy Fallon talked to Dwayne Johnson and Meghan Trainor, Kimmel talked goombahs and gangsters with Ray Liotta, and Seth Meyers talked Kangaroo parts with Heidi Klum.
Conan
Performance review at “Conaco”.
Once again, Jordan Schlansky is on the chopping block.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Dwayne Johnson was a colossal 15-year-old.
Misheard lyrics bit.
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Ray Liotta talks Goodfellas reunion and dealing with wise guys.
Liotta talks about his new Western series, Texas Rising. DC capitol police can’t stop leaving their guns in the public bathrooms. Howie Mandel has athlete’s foot.

David Letterman had Julia Roberts on "Late Show" Wednesday night, and he did what a lot of guys have probably wanted to do for decades: He planted a big wet kiss right on her famous lips. They'd done it before on the show - several times - and they showed clips of Julia and Dave smooching over the years. But this was their last kiss, since Dave is leaving as "Late Show" host and May 20 is The End. So they walked out onto the stage - Julia in her sexy letterman jacket - and they had a final kiss. So sweet. But before leaving, Julia gave him a speech: "I just want to say,...

Two films forgotten by the Academy, the animated adventure "The Lego Movie" and the Roger Ebert Documentary "Life Itself," triumphed at the recently concluded 2015 Producers Guild Awards.
"The Lego Movie" took home the Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures for producer Dan Lin while "Life Itself" won the Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures for producers Garrett Basch, Steve James, and Zak Piper.
Meanwhile, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, John Lesher, and James W. Skotchdopole took the Oscar glitter away from Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" when "Birdman" was awarded the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.

Movies made by women directors were snubbed by the Producers Guild of America when they announced the nominees today! Both "Selma" by Ava DuVernay and "Unbroken" by Angelina Jolie were left in the dust. I agree with not nominating the latter movie (sorry Ms. Jolie but "Unbroken" is too earnest for my taste) but "Selma" deserved a nod! It's a profound movie aided by DuVernay's skilled directing and David Oyelowo's fine performance as Martin Luther King Jr.
You know who I'm blaming for this? Paramount! The studio did not send screeners to Academy voters. Heck, they did not sent one to us, the Broadcast Film Critics Association. But after begging, they did send a link so I could watch "Selma" in time for our Critics' Choice Movie Award nominations.
"Selma" is a "late to the party" entry that is gaining momentum dashed by the PGA! If you remember, Clint Eastwood...

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) added to the industry mix Monday morning with a list of 10 nominees to keep the awards season grist mill churning. "Gone Girl" popped up again, and it shouldn't be a surprise. It's one of the year's biggest hits. And speaking of hits, I had a hunch "Nightcrawler" would find a place after becoming such a well-liked, profitable success. There it sits. The question for both of these films is whether this on-going industry/guild love ends up translating to Oscar recognition. After the "Dragon Tattoo" rush a few years ago, I'm pretty much wait-and-see on stuff like this. Absent from the list was anything out of the Marvel Studios comic book factory, notable as both "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" were both on the top tier of box office earners in 2014. The former currently maintains the throne, though it...

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
"Today" co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer were on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night, and they were game to rock super-pointy dunce caps and play "Pop Quiz." Last night was an election night, but all the questions were pop culture-related. Jimmy was the ref and the loser was drenched by a giant water balloon. Guess who lost? Let's just say he wasn't feeling too glib after being soaked! He got his revenge on Jimmy, though.
Dr. Phil was on "Conan" and Conan O'Brien asked for Phil's take on the naked celebrity selfies out there. In his opinion, what's going on? Phil said he understands people taking them but not posting them.

The “NBC Nightly News” anchor and aspiring Sir Mix-a-Lot impressionist sat down with Seth Meyers during Monday's episode of “Late Night” and, for some reason, all he wanted to talk about was “The Bachelorette.” As it turns out, Williams is obsessed with ABC's highly-rated reality show. When you think back to your college days, nothing comes to mind except drug-fueled parties, elaborate pranks, and parents with babies ripping shots in the corner, right? No, that was just me? Kidding, not even I lived that crazy a college life, but Nicholas Stoller’s new movie Neighbors has all of that, until turning into an all-out fraternity war between Zac Efron’s legendary Greek family, and the parents next door suffering a midlife crisis. In seasons past, I’ve discussed game play and my picks for which houseguest can’t, under any circumstances, possibly be a real, functioning adult. But in terms of “showmances,” the casual hook-ups/BFFdom/relationship-lite, I’ve never really cared one way or another. Sure, it was silly to see some of the girls cry to the cameras when their beaus were voted out of the house, but it never really made or broke the show for me.
