"What better place for a Jewish quarterback to be than in Miami!?" That was Jay Fiedler's reaction to the Miami Dolphins bringing on Josh Rosen -- and Feidler would know, he's Jewish too!!! In fact, Fiedler -- a 2002 inductee to the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame -- was the last Miami Dolphins Qb to lead the team to a playoff victory back in 2000. So, with Rosen now in South Beach ... we hit up...

All-Pro Detroit wide receiver Calvin Johnson landed the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 13 video game, but it’s the fans of his rivals in Green Bay, Chicago, and Minnesota who might be celebrating the “honor.” Johnson torched defensive secondaries for 16 touchdowns and 1,681 yards last season, but gracing the cover of the popular video game has a way of bringing a superstar down to earth. The Madden Cover Jinx is alive and well, especially after last year’s featured player, Cleveland’s running back Peyton Hillis, saw his subsequent season crumble beneath injuries and contract drama — he recently signed with Kansas City.

I am a huge Madden fan. I love playing those games each year. One of the things that goes with playing the games each year is the coincidental Madden Curse associated with the newest version of the game. TheWrap reports that EA sports wants to produce a film comedy based on the idea of the curse. The story will follow a former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game’s cover — and subject to the curse. Seems a lot like the Brett Farve story to me.
Every year it seems that the player who gets honored with marketing themselves during the release of the game ends up having bad seasons that year, whether it be an injury that plagues them, bad performance, or worse, a complete utter downfall of their career.
Examples of the curse are guys like Daunte Culpepper,...

Electronic Arts is reportedly developing a film based on the 'Madden Curse'; a term coined after many of the athletes featured on the covers of the Madden NFL Football videogame franchise either become injured or have a turn for the worse career-wise shortly after. As of right now details on how the film will be presented are scarce, so it could end up being a series of web videos, animated or live-action full length. For a brief rundown on the history of the Madden Curse, check out the timeline below. Madden NFL 2002 Cover athlete Daunte Culpepper threw 23 interceptions bringing the Minnesota Vikings to a 5-11 record and broke the record for most fumbles during a season. In 2005-2006 he blew out both knees and hasn't been the same since. Madden NFL 2003 Cover athlete Marshall Faulk's...

Daunte Culpepper. Marshall Faulk. Ray Lewis. Michael Vick. Larry Fitzgerald. And even Troy Polamalu. In the past decade, there is one thing that all these NFL players have in common. They all suffered from the Madden Curse after being on the cover of the Madden NFL video game. Video game-company Electronic Arts confirmed to TheWrap a movie is under development based on the Madden curse. The web site wrote, “The story will follow a former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game’s cover – and subject to the curse.” Pat O’Brien, vice president of EA entertainment, is one of the producers for this film. This year, quarterback Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints is on the cover of Madden NFL 2011 and has not suffered any setbacks or injuries. Lucky him. There is still two...

Minnesota Viking fans and Brett Favre fantasy footaball owners rejoiced on Wednesday (October 6) when the NFL squad traded for wide receiver Randy Moss. The move brings the future Hall of Famer back to his original team, after years spent with the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots.
It'll be quite a homecoming for Moss, though he's never played alongside Favre before (in 2004, Moss' last season with the Vikings, Daunte Culpepper was under center for the team and Favre was throwing TDs for the Green Bay Packers).
Nonetheless, a merry homecoming it shall be. And being the pop culture wackos that we are here at MTV News, we immediately thought of other memorable homecomings. From top bands to hit shows, here are some of our favorite second acts.

We thought we'd try something different around here by turning our discerning queer eye towards the sports world, so in last Thursday's The Week in Sports we sifted through hundreds of wire photos looking for the most arresting images of male athleticism produced that week from around the world.
We thought it would probably be a one-off, our own gay Sports Illustrated special edition, but you guys clearly like your male athletes (both obscure and famous) and asked for more. You even suggested some of your favorite sports stars and requested photos of them.
We really did look for the names (and teams) you mentioned, but the caveat is photos have to come from the past week in order to appear in this feature, thus we couldn't go back and, say, get a hot photo of Gabe Kapler or Ryan Braun from last year. Much as we'd like to — those guys are smokin'!
