Exclusive: Sales and distribution veteran Mark Lindsay to introduce five new titles to Cannes buyers.
New York-based Saboteur Media has launched a production and finance operation with a broader sales remit and hired former Miramax International senior executive Mark Lindsay as president of distribution.
The moves comes as executive director Nick Quested expands the suite of services beyond those of documentary distributor and sales company initially launched under the auspices of Goldcrest Films.
Saboteur now operates as a stand-alone entity that produces, finances and sells narrative and documentary features, with particular emphasis on empowering the New York creative community and an opportunistic eye towards television.
The company has the ability to finance tax credits and invest equity in select projects, which will not rely on pre-sales in order to get greenlight. It serves as co-producer on all five titles headed for Cannes.

Back in 2012, Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich introduced us to the sonically pleasing satanism that is The Devil’s Carnival - a fantastical underworld where damned souls sing away their sorrows. Three years later, the duo have finally returned to further their musical horror franchise by introducing Heaven into the mix, storming God’s gates in Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival.
The original film gives three sinners a shot at redemption, while this new traveling freakshow focuses on Lucifer’s growing disdain with the big man above. It’s about time someone exposed God for the blasphemous bastard he really is, and the Devil seems like the right man for the job – but it’s getting to the actual religious warfare that proves to be Bousman and Zdunich’s biggest challenge.
Picking up where The Devil’s Carnival left off, Lucifer (Zdunich) has grown tired of God’s (Paul Sorvino) almighty buffoonery.

Dwayne Johnson has had a very musical weekend. Saturday he shared his “The Rock's Ultimate Ball-Out Playlist” via Apple Music. The playlist includes Big Pun, Tech N9ne, Outkast, Wiz Khalifa, and the O'Jays, among others. He also says his gym entrance song is “Mack Man” by Willie Hutch. Sadly, there's no Madonna. Playlist foul. Later in the day, after pumping iron in the gym, Johnson had some #PostWorkoutBliss (hashtag his) surging in his extremely buff body, so he put on Trendsetter Sense's “What You Know” (which is not on his Ball-Out Playlist) and broke into dance. We already knew Johnson could dance pretty well: He showed off his moves for Ellen in 2010, then did a pec dance for Ellen a year later, and shook it off on Lip Sync Battle this April. Johnson described himself as “#260lbsOfBrownEyedDancinSoul.” Now if only he can somehow incorporate all of those moves into the...

One of the best things about the horror genre is its ability to divide audiences and create strong, passionate reactions. We may split on a comedy, sure, because we find different things funny, but chances are we won’t carry that experience with us much past when the end credits roll. Horror is different. Love it or hate it, it sticks with us, and when we see a movie that really speaks to us we connect with it in such way so as to believe the filmmaker has made something that’s just for us.
Few filmmakers embody this ideal more than Darren Lynn Bousman: while his recent output of films might not be for everyone, for the people they are for they are really for. After finding success within the studio system thanks to his trilogy of Saw films and his criminally underrated remake of Mother’s Day,...

Back in 2012, Hell came to town in Darren Lynn Bousman’s The Devil’s Carnival. Written by and starring Terrance Zdunich (Repo! Three souls entered looking for redemption, but what they found was more despair – and some catchy tunes!

If you were as big a fan of Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich’s musical horror spectacle The Devil’s Carnival as I, you can officially start rejoicing now that production has begun on The Devil’s Carnival 2. If you can remember, a teaser trailer was released way back in 2012 that suggested the hellish carnival inhabitants would be traded for – or joined by – an equally colorful cast of heavenly bodies, and this was confirmed by TechN9ne’s angelic Librarian. Since then, there hasn’t been much movement, but if you’ve been checking up on the project’s social media channels, you’d know that Bousman’s production has officially been given the green light! Alleluia!
Along with some behind-the-scenes photos featuring returning actors like Marc Senter and Briana Evigan, it’s also been announced that David Hasselhoff has joined the cast as what I’m assuming will...

Tech N9ne has been at the rap game for 15 years, with more than a dozen proper studio sets to his name. Time hasn't slowed him down, either: the rhymer introduced a couple of the best songs of his career with latest collection "Strangeulation," one of which is "Fear," a track about dying and the loss of his mother. "Is there sound when the ground absorbs me?" Tech asks over the emotional loops, and with the video elements added to "Fear," consider yourself hooked. The 5-minute clip starts with a message to his fans: "On November 27th 2013 I recorded 'Fear,' one of the most emotional songs of my entire career. The Strange Music video team shot the video on April 7th, 2014, days before I left for my tour in the course of waiting for the release, my greatest fear happened on June 6th, 2014, and I lost my ange l- my mother.

A big thaw happens on the charts next week as “Now That’s What I Call Music” topples the “Frozen” soundtrack out of the top spot on the Billboard 200 by a wide margin as six new albums bow in the Top 10. The 50th edition of the “Now” series will sell up to 150,000 copies, according to Hits Daily Double, surpassing “Frozen” by as many as 50,000. “Frozen” has spent 13 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1. Country artist Hunter Hayes comes in at No. 3 with his latest, “Storyline” (75,000), while Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan returns with “Shine On” (40,000) at No. 4. Pharrell Williams’ “G I R L” is at No. 5 (30,000), although it may have to settle for No. 6 as Tech N9ne Callobos’ “Strangulation” could enter at No. 5 (30,000). Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” climbs back up to No. 7 in its 39th week on the chart (24,000), besting out Atmosphere’s latest, “Southsiders” (21,000-24,000). Navigating the rows of rare back-issues, original artwork, and collectible merchandise can be pretty tough when you’re competing with tens of thousands of people. Except when you’re at Wizard World and are among such like-minded enthusiasts of comics and pop-culture, than you feel more like a wide-eyed 10 yr. old and don’t necessarily mind running into a random Princess Leia or a Joker from The Dark Knight. Wizard World added St. Louis to its multi-city roster last year and fans swarmed the America’s Center Convention Hall. This year was no different. Well . . . I should clarify there was one big difference. But I don’t think fans complained about the event increasing in size to fill the entire Edward Jones Dome! Kansas City rapper Tech N9ne and Kendrick Lamar look pretty angry in the new video for “Fragile” as they lyrically turn the tables on music journalists who have criticized their work. Watch it below. A single off Tech N9ne’s 2013 album “Something Else,” “Fragile” also features Wrekonize and Bernz of the hip-hop group ¡Mayday! and singer Kendall Morgan. It's summer. For many, this means it's time for the Gathering of the Juggalos; for many others, it means it's time for the super-fun infomercial for the Gathering of the Juggalos. This go-round, the Insane Clown Posse dress up as their news anchor characters, Fats Pepper and Guy Gorfey, and read off the lineup. Besides Icp, the festival features Rahzel, Vanilla Ice, Sevendust, Tech N9ne, Eazy-e's son Lil Eazy-e, and some seemingly awesome soul singer in a superhero costume named Blowfly. The festival also features a really solid comedy lineup, including Jim Norton and Jared Logan, and a bunch of crazy parties and random shenanigans like DJ Clays Horney Nuts and Big Butts Party, a showdown between Guns N Roses tribute bands, and Juggalo Night Court (with celebrity judges). The whole thing goes down August 7 through the 11 in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. ...

Recently we witnessed the bloody conclusion of horror hip-hop artist Brotha Lynch Hung's epic “Coathanga” album trilogy, when we released with the world premiere of his extreme video “Meat Cleaver” from the final record Mannibalector. It was the climax of a project that took three years to complete, and since I've been following the trilogy from the beginning, I wanted to learn more about Lynch's creative process and the origin of this unforgettable killer. Thankfully I got some chat-time with Lynch this week, where we talked about the evolution of the concept and the ambitious music video series. FEARnet: Hey, Lynch! It's great to finally talk to you. Lynch: Thanks man, I was looking forward to it! It looks like the “Meat Cleaver” video really got a lot of attention. I was really glad we could debut it here. Thanks, that's great to hear! It's the perfect site to release it.

From leather kilts (don't call it a skirt) to bedazzled masks, Kanye West has really been upping the ante on inventive rapper stage wear. His newest addition to the Yeezy Lookbook, however, may take the cake. (See photo below.)
West recently took to the stage in Abu Dhabi in some next-level outerwear. He had on a straitjacket (perhaps more commonly spelled "straight jacket"), restricting his movements and making clever commentary on the many times he's been called "crazy." (West has addressed this line of criticism before; at a recent concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey, he told the crowd that he's "not crazy," but rather "not satisfied.")
Is it really that odd, however, for a performer to take an outfit from Harry Houdini's closet? Complex Magazine has compiled an extensive list of rappers, singers and pop stars (think 'N Sync) who have worn straitjackets before. The only major difference...

Watch a clip for the follow up to Director Darren Lynn Bousman and writer/actor Terrance Zdunich’s The Devil’s Carnival, The Devil’s Carnival 2: The Librarian starring Tech N9ne as The Librarian.
Having worked as a librarian I can attest to the fact that some weird things go on in the stacks, but I haven’t seen anything quite like this teaser. That being said, adorable boys in kilts and cardigans would have been quite welcome in my library.
Apparently, the nine-minute teaser offers fans quite a few “visual and musical hints” so keep on the lookout. In case you missed it, you can watch episode one here and get updates on the Facebook page.

The Devils Carnival 2 is headed our way soon and weve got a brand new nine minute clip of the film featuring the one and only Tech N9ne. Apparently Darren Lynn Bousman never sleeps. Since leaping into the light of the mainstream back in 2005 with Saw II the man has done nothing but pump out highquality genre fare. Two more Saw films (III IV) would follow for Bousman as well as the critically acclaimed musical Repo The Genetic Opera the very impressive remake of Mothers Day the mind bending urban legend flick The Barrens and of course his musical follow up to Repo The Devils Carnival.

Merry Christmas horror fans! In surprising news today, the first teaser trailer for The Devil’s Carnival 2 has emerged from the deep, and with it we have our first confirmed casting addition for director Darren Lynn Bousman and writer Terrance Zdunich’s musical follow-up to their 2012 hour long experimental “short,” The Devil’s Carnival.
In the original, three “lost souls” are sent to a carnival run by the devil (Hell) and tested by numerous characters stuck down below for eternity, seeing if the same mistakes that led them to an awful fate would still be made. There’s singing, dancing, life lessons, demons, entertainers, and most importantly – death. But it’s not so much about kill scenes and gore (that was what Repo! The Genetic Opera did best), but instead about learning from faults and being given a second chance, and not wasting such opportunities. At the end, the Devil...

Shawn “Jay-z” Carter’s reign as Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash King has officially ended--for now at least.
Filling in the top spot for 2012 is none other than legendary producer-rapper Dr. Dre who reportedly earned $110 million in earnings from the revenue of his highly successful Beats headphones, according to the magazine's annual list. Landing at #2 is Diddy at $45 million, followed by Jay-z with $38 million.
Interesting enough, with a string of business ventures in motion, Hov’s current pretax earnings are consistent with last year’s figure which was reported at $37 million.
