There’s something in horrors that the genre keeps attracting more and more viewers everyday. Despite all the spooky and creepy stuff, all the screams and psycho scenes, we can say for sure that it’s one of the most popular genres nowadays.
But what the audience appreciates even more is how horrors can be made… fun. Horror comedies have been in trend for a long time now, but they got really upscaled when the world was introduced to Chucky.
In 2021, audiences saw the new show that was a spinoff of the Child's Play movie series created by Don Mancini. It premiered in October 2021 on Syfy and USA Network, and there have already been 3 seasons of the show, which is now as popular as the movie franchise.

*Spoilers* Now that Chucky Season 3 finale has aired, I'm excited to share my chat with Brad and Fiona Dourif, who talk about sharing scenes as Charles Lee Ray, the evolution of Chucky in Season 3, and more!
It was so great to see the two of you on screen together as Charles Lee Ray. What was the experience like on set for the both of you?
Brad Dourif: I got to scold my kid. I got to tell her what to do and how she should be doing things... [Laughs] When Fiona started out, we both did auditions together. So part of it was like, "I'm back in my living room." It was very freeing and fun.
Fiona Dourif: I was nervous about it and then when we were actually shooting, it was just pure joy. I remember after we finished, I thanked Don [Mancini] from the bottom of my heart, "Thank...

With the Chucky TV series having reached the end of its current season (which is hopefully not the last), it’s crazy to think of all the insanity this character has gotten up to. What started as a serial killer inhabiting a Good Guy doll and trying to take over the body of a young boy has become a show involving the White House and launching nukes. So when I sat down with stars Brad and Fiona Dourif, I made sure to ask them about all of it. Because if we fans weren’t expecting it, I can only imagine what it’s been like for the people behind these characters.
I was also gobsmacked with the news that Mr. Dourif had quietly retired from acting. He was simply performing as Chucky as a favor for both his daughter as well as the character’s creator Don Mancini, whom he considers to be family.

Wednesday’s jam-packed finale starts with Tiffany who’s about to be executed in prison. Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Chucky” Season 3: Episode 6 & Episode 7.
Chucky’s greatest fear, dating all the way back to his introduction in 1988’s Child’s Play, has been death. The serial killer transferred his soul, via voodoo, to a Good Guy doll to avoid it. This week’s brand new seventh episode of “Chucky” Season 3, “There Will Be Blood,” saw the ghost of Charles Lee Ray confront his greatest fear and meet his maker, Damballa. It also brought Chucky voice actor Brad Dourif back to the screen in a shocking turn of events.
Episode 6 saw Chucky commit to going down in a blaze of glory by using the saved eyeball he gouged from President James Collins (Devon Sawa) to gain access to the nuclear missiles. It created an intense standoff in the launch room, with the episode seemingly killing Chucky for good. Except, the White House is home to many restless spirits,...

Not even death can slow Chucky in “There Will Be Blood,” the penultimate episode of “Chucky” Season 3. With the killer receiving a mortal blow in the last episode, Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) can now take full advantage of the White House’s bizarre supernatural purgatory, leaving him free to continue his current reign of terror as a ghost. While that spells trouble for Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), it makes for an outrageously satisfying bloodbath heading into next week’s finale.
“There Will Be Blood” covers a lot of ground in short order, with Charles Lee Ray confronting his maker over his failures before he can continue his current path of destruction. Lexy, Jake, and Devon continue their desperate bid to find Lexy’s sister, which means seeking answers from the afterlife. They’re in luck, considering Warren Pryce (Gil Bellows) enlists...

Chucky season 3 had to be split in half due to the writers and actors strikes, with the first four episodes (read our review Here) airing on Syfy and USA Network (as well as the Peacock streaming service) back in October. Production resumed at the end of November, and the second half of the season will begin airing on April 10th – so now that we’re closing in on the end of season 3, series creator Don Mancini is, of course, fielding questions about the possibility of a fourth season. During an interview with The Direct, Mancini confirmed that season 4 has already been pitched!
When the subject of season 4 came up, Mancini said, “There’s very little I can say about that. I can’t tell you my idea for Season 4, but I’m really excited about it. I already pitched it to the network. So fingers crossed because it’s something I really like to do.

Chucky, the iconic psychopathic doll with a taste for blood, has seen some competition on his corner. In the past year alone, dancing AI Dolls, giant animatronics, and the return of the tricycle-riding clown have offered stiff competition. Yet there’s only one red-headed monster known for his comedy, his oddly progressive nature, and, of course, his super violent kills. Chucky returns for the second half of its third season and, once again, proves his dark comedy fits best on television.
Chucky Season 3 Plot
After infiltrating the White House, Chucky (Brad Dourif) continues his reign of terror. In Part 1, he already butchered multiple SNL cast members and took out high-ranking Secret Service officials. However, Chucky loses favor with his deity of choice, Damballa, causing him to age rapidly. As the Chuckster tries to stop this process, his love Tiffany Valentine – possessing the body of Jennifer Tilly – awaits execution. Nica Pierce...

Co-director and star Peter Facinelli must rescue his family trapped by a wildfire, but while he digs deep to save them the film dodges the really big question raised here
It is a truth almost universally acknowledged that eco-thrillers are films that preach to the converted. So, fair dos to this environmental drama for also preaching to another cohort of the converted: Christians. The script shoehorns in a few prayer scenes to appeal to viewers of faith – though cynics might think it is a shameless attempt to cover all audience bases. The story follows a family caught up in a wildfire raging out of control in California, shot in a throwback style to vintage disaster movies of the 80s – though clearly on a tight budget that really shows in some cheap smoke-machine effects.
Dave (played by co-director Peter Facinelli) is a builder who lives with his eight-months-pregnant wife Sarah (Fiona Dourif...

The Chucky franchise has been around since 1988, with the titular killer doll hacking and slashing his way through each movie.
The franchise got the TV treatment in 2020, carrying on many of the plots from the previous movies, along with a cast of new and returning faces.

Don Mancini, who has written every film in the Child’s Play / Chucky franchise (except the remake) and directed a few of them, developed the TV series Chucky with producer David Kirschner – and he has made it clear that he enjoys casting actors in multiple roles. For example, Devon Sawa has already played four different characters over the course of the TV show’s three seasons. Now Entertainment Weekly has learned that legendary filmmaker John Waters is the latest person to play two different roles in this franchise. Having previously played Pete Peters, a tabloid photographer who got dissolved by acid in 2004’s Seed of Chucky, Waters has now been added to the cast of Chucky season 3, where he’ll be playing Wendell Wilkins, “the reclusive creator of the Good Guy dolls, who gets drawn into the psychopathic Chucky’s tangled web”.

Chucky the killer doll has come back a whole lot of times since we first saw him in the 1988 classic Child’s Play. He has starred in several big screen sequels, a couple direct-to-video sequels, and now he’s three seasons deep into a TV series that runs on both Syfy and USA Network (as well as the Peacock streaming service). As he has made his way through the decades, many of his co-stars have also returned to share the screen with him again and again. But among those who haven’t returned is Chris Sarandon, who played Detective Mike Norris in the original film. During an interview conducted by People to mark the thirty-fifth anniversary of the original Child’s Play, Sarandon revealed that he would be willing to come back for another Chucky project… even though he turned down the chance to appear in Child’s Play 2.

Don Mancini's Child's Play and its renowned main character Chucky, voiced by Brad Dourif, became an international horror sensation. How do I know? Because growing up in ‘90s Poland, I knew all too well about the evil doll. Chucky gave me a few nightmares, but it also turned me into a hardcode horror enthusiast. With the SyFy series Chucky , the creators extend the film universe and reintroduce the possessed doll to a broader and younger audience. This naughty, deliciously vicious series never gets old, even after several runs. This time, season 3 transports us to the White House and has to offer even more outrageous moments, great script, and continually astounding performances.

A few months ago, Universal Studios announced that one of the haunted houses that would be part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event at the Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood resorts would be inspired by the killer doll Chucky. I don’t need to inform anyone that mainstream Hollywood entertainment is still in the grips of a franchise and IP based fervor. Mega franchises, sequels, reboots, requels, remakes – all of these have been the lion’s share of high profile releases for well over a decade now. Everything from the most recognizable franchises in film history to more niche pop cultural artifacts have been resurrected, dusted off, and had a new coat of paint air-brushed on.
Every day across social media the online film community seems to litigate “the state” of Hollywood.
Superhero fatigue. Franchise fatigue. You know the discourse. Personally, I take as much of a nonchalant attitude with all this stuff as I can. I have my peccadillos. I have my areas of agreement regarding “the state” of Hollywood. But at the end of the day I’m just…a dude. A dude who just wants to...

Previously on f***ing "Chucky," everyone's favorite serial killer-possessed doll kickstarted a reign of havoc throughout New Jersey, and it was up to a group of meddling teens to stop him. Creator Don Mancini first brought Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray to audiences in 1988 with "Child's Play," and the pint-sized slasher franchise has grown to seven films and now three seasons of television. Mancini has been at the helm through it all, evolving the series every step of the way. And now, season 3 of the USA and Syfy "Chucky" series is taking things one step further in the wildest season yet.
Brad Dourif continues to dazzle and destroy as the titular doll, and "Chucky" is as gruesome, raucous, campy, and decidedly envelope-pushing as ever — both in substance and style. Devon Sawa played three different roles across the first two seasons of the Chucky TV series, and in season 3 he’s taking on a fourth role: President James Collins. Chucky the killer doll ends up in the White House in this season (he has promised that “D.C. is gonna get Chucked up”), and in a new behind-the-scenes featurette, we get a tour of the Oval Office courtesy of Sawa. Wildfires are a far too common occurrence, destroying property and taking lives in the U.S. and abroad, and Peter Facinelli hopes his latest film On Fire will put a more personal spin on the disasters so viewers start thinking about how they could be mitigated.
“It’s meant to be a white knuckling kind of ride that gives you hope and, in the end, also celebrates the heroes that are putting their lives on the line all the time,” Facinelli tells The Hollywood Reporter, adding that he hopes the film raises awareness about the increasing frequency of deadly wildfires, like the one that devastated Lahaina in August. “October is Fire Prevention Month, and there are ways to protect your home, but these fires just keep happening and it’s time to think about what we could do about it.”

A really wet Friday in New York – National Weather Service flash flood warning wet – is likely to take a bite out of specialty film in one of its biggest markets this weekend. Alamo Drafthouse shut its NYC locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island until further notice due to “severe flooding in and around the area,” saying “Please everyone stay dry & stay safe, and we hope to have you back at the movies very soon.” Subways are jammed up and the water makes it hard to get around.

In November 2018, the seventh deadliest wildfire in US history ripped through California and destroyed the entire town of Paradise, along with numerous other homes. A combination of wind changes and unexpected behaviour on the part of the fire meant that evacuations happened only at the last minute and many people who had thought themselves safe abruptly faced danger. Given the location of this event, it embedded itself deep in the psyche of many in he state’s filmmaking community. Five years later, Peter Facinelli and Nick Lyon’s film attempts to capture something of the experience of those directly involved.
Facinelli plays Dave, a construction company owner who lives in a comfortable woodland trailer home with his father George (Lance Henriksen), teenage son Clay (Asher Angel) and wife Sarah (Fiona Dourif), who is eight months pregnant. Four years after Curse of Chucky reunited horror hounds with their favorite Good Guy, writer-director Don Mancini continued to pile on the decades-long story with its seventh entry, Cult of Chucky. Like Curse, the straight-to-vod sequel revolves around one location — in this case, a mental hospital — and follows the exploits of Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif), whose fate continues to add a disturbing spin to the term “final girl”.
Does it all work, though? Or is it too much story for one movie? That’s a question the Halloweenies will try to answer in their latest episode. Join the gang as they make sense of the intertwining arcs and the layered mythology, chart the influence of the hospital as a horror setting, dream up the 2017 soundtrack-that-could-have-been, and mull over how this film (and also Curse) truly set the stage for the ensuing TV series.

"This is no joke..." "Best thing to do is fireproof the house." But that won't work either, of course! Cineverse has revealed an official trailer for a survival thriller titled On Fire, arriving in theaters to watch at the end of September. The film initially premiered at the 2023 Mammoth Film Festival earlier this year, and it's co-directed by Nick Lyon with the actor / director Peter Facinelli. This is a chilling premise because it's actually happening in real life to so many people - from Hawaii and Greece, and many many other places around the world. And yes it's due to climate change and negligence, and we need to do more. Based on real events, On Fire follows a family who lives in a trailer home in the woods when they are suddenly confronted by a wildfire. Survival becomes their main objective. With precious moments ticking by, Dave must flee with...

The deadly doll is coming to our nation's capital. The third season premiere date for the Chucky TV series was announced in a mock press conference. The sequel to the movie franchise is simulcast on the USA Network and Syfy cable channels.
A tongue-in-cheek horror series, the Chucky TV show stars Zackary Arthur, Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Brad Dourif with Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, Jennifer Tilly, Devon Sawa, and Barbara Alyn Woods in recurring roles. In the story, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage "Good Guy" doll turns up at a suburban yard sale and is purchased by teen Jake Wheeler (Arthur). It turns out to be none other than Chucky (Dourif), a doll that holds the soul of a deceased and vicious serial killer. Soon, everyone in the...

Needless to say, Don Mancini delivered with Curse of Chucky.

There’s something inherently unsettling about inanimate objects that move on their own accord. Especially if they happen to resemble people. Which is what makes dolls so perfect for the horror genre; the uncanny valley of it all heightens the fear response in audiences.

Like the best documentaries, this has all the important people involved in the movie as talking heads as possible, plus a host of other people that are loosely connected – whether it be fellow child actor and horror fan Abigail Breslin or artist and voice actor Dan Povenmire. As the daughter of Chucky franchise special effects artist Tony Gardner, director Kyra Elise Gardner offers a unique perspective on the killer doll’s lasting impact in the Screambox Original documentary Living with Chucky.
