Elon Musk may only be the third richest person in the world, but among his peers he’s the number one target of many late-night hosts. So it’s hardly surprising that the Tesla founder—who has a reputation for trying to disrupt the media spaces he does not like (see: the social media network formerly known as Twitter)—has set his sights on burning late-night television to the ground.
No, Musk isn’t planning to hop behind a desk and deliver a nightly monologue. But apparently he does think that Grok, his AI chatbot, has the talent to out-funny all the Jimmys and Jo(h)ns who currently occupy the post-primetime daypart.
Musk took to X early Thursday to share his plans, explaining: “Grok will soon offer a humorous take on the news in the spirit of how The Daily Show and Colbert Report used to be in ancient times.

Elon Musk is dynamic, and people most undoubtedly hold a polarised opinion of him. Recently, though, his antics on social media and his changes to policies on Twitter (now known as X) have gotten him attention for better or worse.
Musk has always thought one step ahead on the technological front, whether it is Hyperloop, SpaceX, or Neuralink. The last one was a concern for many, but despite the odds, the first individual to receive an implant, quadriplegic Noland Arbaugh, seems to be having a field day.
29-Year-Old Dominating In Old School RuneScape and Slay The Spire Despite Paralytic Condition Elon Musk is known to be an avid gamer.
Elon Musk is a huge fan of video games like Elden Ring and Diablo 4, among many others. So, it is only natural for him to extend his passion for gaming into his work-related affairs. Neuralink, Musk’s neural implant, also works...

John McEntee flashes a thin-lipped smile at the camera, waving around a stack of bills he pulled from the center console of his car. “I always keep this fake Hollywood money in my car, so when a homeless person asks for money then I give them a fake $5 bill,” he tells TikTok. “So I feel good about myself, they feel good — and then when they go to use it they get arrested. So I’m actually helping clean up the community, you know, getting them off the streets.”

Jimmy Kimmel rarely holds back during his annual monologue to Disney advertisers, but this year he was particularly brutal about the state of the business.
The ABC late-night host laid into CEO Bob Iger, the Golden Bachelor, streaming bundles, Star Wars, Elon Musk and many other topics.
Here were some of his best — and most cutting — jokes to the Madison Avenue audience:
— “Golden Bachelor is a key part of our strategy to steal CBS’ viewers by putting them in a house together. We’re now launching the Golden Bachelorette, a game show where you can win an old lady. Joan is our new Golden Bachelorette. She has four kids and two grandchildren. Are the grandkids ready to see grandma get raw-dogged in a jacuzzi?”

“Prepare yourselves.”
That’s what a sword weilding Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) declares to Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and her other warrior companions in the just released teaser trailer for Season 2 of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – see below:
Season 2 of the J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation is coming on August 29, and “prepare yourselves” just might be an understatement.
One word: Sauron. Another word: Unleashed.
Much grittier and darker than most of Season 1, the just released peek at Season 2 also gives a brief look at the Charlie Vicker’s portrayed Mordor master’s Dark Tower. As well, there’s some new rings and their creation in there too, and one Hell of an explosion that could rival Mount Doom’s big blow-up in Season 1. Or, as Khazad-dûm Prince Durin (Owain Arthur) puts it in said minute-long teaser: “an evil, ancient and powerful has returned” — as you can see above.

Elden Ring is often considered to be one of the hardest games to ever be released, and it requires a certain level of skill and patience to beat it. Soulslike games are not for everybody, but that did not stop Kai Cenat from streaming on his YouTube channel and giving his audience a hilarious walkthrough.
The American streamer did not falter under the intense difficulty of the game and has been progressing quite well with a few minor roadblocks. The fans are getting a kick out of this playthrough series, and Cenat is giving them quality content by finding more amusing ways to perish.

SpaceX made history on May 30, 2020 when it became the first commercial company to send astronauts to the International Space Station (Iss), on the Crew Dragon Demo-2 mission. The documentary Return to Space chronicles that mission and the partnership between Elon Musk’s aerospace company and NASA that’s helped transform America’s space program.
The film features spectacular images from space and dramatic footage of SpaceX’s successful launches and dramatic failures. It’s also packed with fascinating information about the history and current state of space travel. Here are the top 10 things we learned from watching.
Without gravity, the heart pumps too much blood to the head. This makes astronauts feel congested and dulls their senses of smell and taste. As a result, the Iss is well stocked with a wide variety of hot sauces, which the astronauts put on almost everything.

Seth Meyers had a relatively short set at Monday’s NBCUniversal upfront, but he still got his shots in. Like this one on NBCU competitor Paramount: “I found $20 on the street this morning,” Meyers said. “Long story short, I’m one of the two finalists [to buy] Paramount.”
We’re not sure the Paramount Global special committee is going to take that offer seriously — kind of like Byron Allen’s. See? We’ve got jokes too.
For real though, the two entities playing tug-of-war with Paramount are 1) David Ellison’s Skydance and 2) a Sony/Apollo Global Management contingent.
Meyers had a few punchlines chambered for his employer. Like this one, on NBCU streaming service Peacock: “Peacock continues to prove that the easiest way to make a billion dollars is to spend eight [billion].”
Peacock is not only (still) losing a ton of money, it has yet to reveal a profitable-by date; even Paramount+ has one of those.

The world works on capitalism in today’s day and age. To get paid for what one works on is only fair. Actors are no exception to this rule, regardless of whether it is The Untouchables’ Robert De Niro or Kevin Costner. Actors take on big roles and get paid heftily for the same. To put in the work and then getting paid for it, or as the world now knows it to be equivalent exchange.

What may be rare to hear, however, is for someone to get paid for not doing something. When a big project comes into play, many actors get eager to take the role, while at the same time, others may not see things in the same direction. Such was the case with Brian De Palma’s The Untouchables.

Neuralink, Elon Musk‘s startup focused on developing brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), announced on Wednesday that part of its brain implant malfunctioned in its first-ever use in a human patient.
The Neuralink system, known as the Link, is designed to enable individuals with paralysis to control external devices using their thoughts. It utilizes a network of 1,024 electrodes, spread across 64 ultra-thin threads thinner than a human hair, to record neural signals, as stated on the company’s website.
In January, Neuralink implanted the Link device into a 29-year-old patient, Noland Arbaugh, as part of a safety study. In March, the company streamed a live video that showed Arbaugh using the Bci, and in an April blog post, Neuralink described the surgery as a success.
In a recent blog post, Neuralink revealed that several threads had retracted from Arbaugh’s brain weeks after the surgery. This resulted in a decrease in the number of functioning electrodes,...

*Major Spoilers for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes*
The 2024 film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was released recently and fans already had some low expectations from the film. However, the film managed to break through these barriers and earned some solid ratings upon its release.

Taking legal action against Disney and Lucasfilm is a monumental task, but Gina Carano is ensuring everybody – especially those she is suing – that she is up for the challenge. This all stems from Carano being fired from The Mandalorian over a series of viewpoints on gender, the Covid-19 pandemic and more, something that triggered the former Mma fighter to enact legal action.
Gina Carano maintained that she was unjustly canned from The Mandalorian, a move that found her being defended by co-star Bill Burr, in addition to Elon Musk, who offered to foot her legal bills. While Disney and Lucasfilm sought to have the case tossed, Carano has refused to back down. Here is a partial response to the studios’ request to dismiss, as per Deadline: “After admitting that they discriminated against Carano for her personal political beliefs and subjected her to disparate treatment from her similarly situated male co-stars,...

The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally here, and both fans and critics have had the opportunity to voice their opinions on the movie and will be able to do it in the upcoming weeks. But, with more fans being able to see the movie, some theories about the characters and their inspirations about them have begun to surface and one of the more popular ones as far as the movie is concerned is the one that the film’s main villain, the ape monarch Proximus Caesar is actually based on controversial businessman Elon Musk.
Many fans have observed similarities between the villain of the film and Musk, leading to many of them believing that Elon Musk was the inspiration behind the character and as it seems, based on what Kevin Durand, the actor who portrayed Proximus Caesar said, it seems that Musk was, indeed, one of the inspirations for the character.

A month after Disney and Lucasfilm filed paperwork to have Gina Carano’s wrongful-discharge and sex-discrimination suit tossed out, the fired Mandalorian star has kicked back to keep her Elon Musk-supported legal action off the mat.

Jack Dorsey is breaking up with Bluesky. The co-founder of Twitter (now known as X) has abdicated his position on the Bluesky board and deleted his account on the decentralized X alternative he initially backed.
Dorsey’s support helped Bluesky gain ground as an X alternative during the chaotic early months of Elon Musk‘s reign as “Chief Twit.” The decentralized social media protocol seemed to be maintaining its momentum at the start of 2024, when it grew its base to include nearly five million users. Dorsey’s sudden resignation from the board upset that harmony. As the former Twitter boss severed ties with Bluesky, he called X “freedom technology” and advised his followers to put their trust in it.
Days later, Dorsey expanded on his falling out with Bluesky during an interview with Mike Solana of Founders Fund. The 47-year-old tech exec explained that he initially envisioned Bluesky as a...

Nintendo Becomes the Last of the Big 3 to Abandon Twitter, with PlayStation and Xbox Long Since Gone
According to several reports, Elon Musk has made the use of the Api from X (former Twitter) very expensive, so several companies are completely terminating the integration with the social media platform.

Actor Kevin Durand plays Proximus Caesar, the villain in the newest film in the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Durand’s mannerisms might remind you of another guy who is in the news – Elon Musk.
In an interview with the Inside Total Film podcast, Durand admitted his character has a few of the same tics as the tech titan.
“That’s awesome! I mean, even with the bonobo face, they compare me to Elon Musk,” he said. “I get Elon Musk all the time, actually, it’s very funny. People approach me with a look in their eye where I realize they are not meeting an actor that they like, it’s something bigger. But the fact that it comes through even when I’m an ape is fantastic!”

Death, taxes, and longtime television showrunner Bryan Fuller parting ways with a project he was once involved in. There are only a few constants in life and, well, tax season is over and we're still here talking ... so feel free to take a wild guess about what just happened!
Horror fans are painfully aware of just how much trouble the "Friday the 13th" franchise has had in recent years. Mired for years in a complicated lawsuit between original screenwriter Victor Miller and director Sean Cunningham, the legal proceedings effectively put an end to any thought of continuing the beloved slasher series for the last decade and a half. Still, one glimmer of hope for Jason Voorhees appreciators -- not that any of us would ever condone the serial killer's actions, of course -- has been the development of a new prequel series titled "Crystal Lake," with Fuller attached as the...

Eureka Classics have done it again and have now released the first 4K restoration copy of the original 1927 The Cat and the Canary, available for the first time on blu-ray. Considering how many prestigious silent classics have been lost forever, it is quite a treat to sit through the full 86 minutes that have been meticulous preserved of what really is a prototype of its kind. One might consider the dark house comedy-thriller a rare beast, but it was extremely popular in its day, kicked off by this hugely popular silent, made just nine months before the release of the very first feature-length talking picture, The Jazz Singer.
Looking at The Cat and the Canary today, it is emblematic of everything we know about silent cinema, with its comic intertitles, wide-eyed acting and stereotypes, but viewed more seriously it was a hugely influential title.

When “A People’s History of Black Twitter” was published in 2021, the social media platform appeared powerful as ever. As it had been for over a decade, the site was a hub of community and influence, where users might go to bullshit with friends, to organize with activists, to read and report news in real time, maybe even to mingle with a celebrity or two. Sure, it had its problems with trolls or bots or poor moderation; sure, TikTok was already moving in fast. But Twitter seemed to be, if not thriving, at least chugging along with no obvious end in sight.
A lot can change in three years, however — and a lot has, particularly since Elon Musk’s acquisition of the site in 2022. Onyx Collective’s Black Twitter: A People’s History reiterates and expands on Jason Parham’s Wired article, braiding together interviews with journalists, comedians and other commentators...

Former Mma fighter Gina Carano remains at loggerheads with Disney. She reportedly hopes to receive a $75,000 payout and possibly be rehired by the House of Mouse in an Elon Musk-backed lawsuit filed after her firing from The Mandalorian.
That came after the Cara Dune actress shared a series of social media posts deemed offensive by many. The main source of outcry saw her compare being a conservative in modern America to what "thousands" of Jews went through at the hands of the Nazis during the Holocaust.
According to Screen Rant (via SFFGazette.com), Carano attended a Fan Expo Philadelphia panel this weekend and reportedly told attendees that "she has no ill will toward Disney and would be willing to work for Star Wars again."

Gina Carano, known for her role as Cara Dune in the first two seasons of ‘The Mandalorian,’ had promising prospects with the studio, including talks of her own spin-off series.
However, her dismissal came after a string of contentious social media posts, including comparing anti-vaxers to Jews and discussing other sensitive topics conflicting with Disney’s image.
Elon Musk reportedly funded a lawsuit supporting employees who feel discriminated against for their worldviews at work. Gina Carano is suing Disney for $75,000 and seeks rehire by Lucasfilm. At Fan Expo Philadelphia, Carano expressed no resentment towards Disney and expressed willingness to return, stating her viral posts were intended to raise awareness.
While it may appear that a reconciliation is in progress with Carano retracting her statements, it’s highly improbable that the studio will rehire her. Disney has emphasized its First Amendment rights, asserting its prerogative to protect its creative integrity from...

Gina Carano is in recent times most notably known as Cara Dune, a pretty big character in the two first seasons of ‘The Mandalorian.’ The studio had seemingly big plans both for the actress and for her character, as she was at one point supposed to receive her own standalone show.
But, everything changed due to a series of controversial social media posts in which Carano compared anti-vaxers to Jews, and after she touched upon other sensitive topics that aren’t quite in tune with modern sensibilities and the image that Disney is trying to maintain, she was fired.
This all led to a lawsuit reportedly financed by Elon Musk, who offered to legally fund any employee who feels discriminated against due to his or hers worldviews in a place of employment. Carano is currently suing Disney for $ 75,000, and she wants to be rehired by Lucasfilm.

It's not surprising that many successful people have been inspired by the media they consumed in their youth. Behind every musician, there is surely an artist or band that shaped their taste in music. Behind every actor or director, there's a movie they couldn't stop watching as a kid.
And behind every successful scientist and businessman planning one intergalactic mission after another, there is a sci-fi franchise that captured their imagination and inspired them to explore space. Whether you share Elon Musk's views or not, it's curious to find out what that franchise meant to him.
What’s Elon Musk’s Favorite Movie?
While some people will find this answer quite simple, others would call it the classic. Star Wars, which was later retitled Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, is the movie that many refer to as 'the original'. For many fans, it was their first...

Is one renaissance man about to take on another? Apparently so, as IndieWire has confirmed that Andrew Haigh has been tapped to helm a highly anticipated adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s lauded 2017 biography of Leonardo Da Vinci. Paramount had initially won the film rights when the book was first released and even cast the world’s 2nd most famous Leonardo, Di Caprio, in the lead role. Unfortunately, its version eventually went into turnaround allowing Universal to swoop in (perhaps with the use of Da Vinci’s ornithopter) and create a fresh package with Haigh. Initially it was announced that Christopher Hampton would be scripting the piece, but with Haigh now onboard, Universal looks to be giving him full creative oversight, perhaps in an effort to summon the spirit of Da Vinci himself.

Following the success of The Curse, Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder are again teaming with A24 to produce Checkmate, a movie based on the chess world’s biggest scandal.
Chess can be absorbing subject material for drama, whether it’s a glossy period piece such as Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit, or more left-field takes like 2013’s Computer Chess. Perhaps chess movies are like Robin Hood projects: there are always several in development in Hollywood and it becomes a strategic game of, well… erm, chess to see who can put one together first.

On Monday, the Supreme Court denied Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk‘s appeal to get rid of his “Twitter sitter.” According to the terms of the Securities and Exchange Commission ruling, a lawyer will need to preapprove Musk’s posts related to Tesla on X.
The terms came in 2018 after Musk tweeted that he had funds to make Tesla a private company. However, no evidence of the “secured” funding was found. The SEC claimed Musk violated securities law, saying his tweets were “materially false and misleading.”
Since the settlement, Musk has tried to rid himself of his “Twitter sitter.” The lawyer in question has yet to be named. No person has stepped up to take responsibility for the role.

The beloved sitcom Seinfeld was famously never canceled, because co-creator Jerry Seinfeld and his fellow cast members decided they should walk away after nine seasons, leaving viewers wanting more. But for about a decade, Seinfeld has continuously complained that “political correctness” is stifling comedy of the kind that made him a household name and fabulously wealthy.
As long ago as 2015 — right around when our contemporary ideas of “cancel culture” were beginning to take shape on social media — Seinfeld was talking about not playing college campuses for fear of students labeling his material racist or sexist.

Good, because it seems as though these films are here to stay. And in instances like this, I kind of get it. A twisted take on a tale that’s been told a thousand times? We saw Seth Grahame-Smith do something similar with his Pride, Prejudice and Zombies and even Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. So it’s not like this is a brand-new concept. The real question remains: how well does this film do with transforming the Cinderella story into one of horror?
