Fans of ’80s fantasy action-adventure/horror rejoice. Director Shaky Gonzalez’s “The Last Demonslayer” is headed your way later this year, and it’s said to be “very much inspired by many of the genre movies from the 80′s”. The whole thing is apparently about an “evil Succubus” played by Maja Muhlack. The film is currently in production outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, but they’ll be heading to shoot in Death Valley in the States later this year. Starring Kim Sønderholm, Daniell Edwards, Erik Holmey, David Sakurai, Maja Muhlack, Dennis Haladyn, Mustafa Ali, Hector Vega Mauricio, and Danny Thykær. The Eastern Army PosterPasadena will host the Action on Film International Film Festival from July 23rd until July 30th. This is the second year that the city has hosted the event and the 2010 schedule is robust. Over a hundred film's will showcase at the festival. Eastern Army is a Danish produced English language film about a post-apocalyptic world where only a few survivors wait for a mythical Eastern Army. But when a "gang of killers" threatens a small settlement, one man must decide between merely surviving, or fighting for something better. David Sakurai (Through the Darkness) just handed us the firt trailer for a new Danish (but English language) post-apocalyptic actioner he's starring in called Eastern Army. And honestly, it looks pretty great. Maurauding cannibals, some great costumes, a dusty setting and fantastic photography make this look like a winner.
Eastern Army premiered in Copenhagen, Denmark April 9 at the 'Movie Battle Film Festival' where it recieved "The Audience Award" and a "Best Actor Award" for the lead David Sakurai. Next, the film will tour fests in North America and around Europe.
