Overall and first-look deals still drive the television business.
Although some mega-producers have moved to the streaming world, including Ryan Murphy and Shonda Rhimes at Netflix, the overwhelming majority of pacts are still at the studio and linear network level. These deals help lock in show services, as well as keep the development pipeline flowing.
Here is a snapshot at most of the deals currently in place across Hollywood, as of mid-May.

Hey, "Once Upon a Time" fans. We've got a bit of unpleasant news to share with you guys. It turns out that your favorite show is going on a bit of a break starting tonight, Friday, November 24,2017. So, that means this next, new episode 9 will require a little patience from you guys. Fortunately, it won't require as much patience as some of the other shows that are taking a break. This is going to be a relatively short break. According to the show's Wikia page, episode 9 is currently scheduled to air on Friday night, December 8,2017 at 7 pm central standard time on ABC. So, be sure to mark that very important date down on your TV schedules. We were also able to get a few more details about episode 9. Apparently, it's entitled,"One Little Tear." It was directed by Steve Pearlman, and they hired writer Christopher Hollier and Adam Karp to pen the script.

When Once Upon a Time‘s David had the opportunity to make any wish using Aladdin’s lamp in the midseason finale, he opted not to undo the stubborn sleeping curse that was keeping him and true love Snow White from sharing any waking moments together. But why?
At the time, David (played by Josh Dallas) explained that given how wishes “come with a price” that is maddeningly unpredictable, he didn’t want to use his on anyone that he loves. But in this exclusive look at a deleted scene from Season 6, Episode 10, we get deeper insight into David’s decision.

Perhaps the new preview video and photos for tonight’s season finale of Freeform’s Dead of Summer, titled “She Talks to Angels,” will provide some clues as to who will be left standing at the end of the summer at Camp Stillwater.

What was supposed to be a fun summer that the Camp Stillwater counselors would never forget quickly turned into a horrible experience they will be lucky to survive. As summer comes to a close, the centuries-old battle between good and evil at Lake Stillwater will be settled once and for all.

The ninth episode of Freeform’s Dead of Summer is titled “Home Sweet Home,” but if the photos and clips are an indicator of what’s in store for Camp Stillwater’s counselors tonight, the episode could also be titled, “The Exorcism of Amy Hughes,” or “There Will Be Blood… Lots of Blood.”

For some (or maybe all) of the young people attending Camp Stillwater, to quote the great Alice Cooper, “School’s out forever.” Freeform’s Dead of Summer series begins on Tuesday, June 28th at 9:00pm Est, and a one-minute promo video for the series has been released.
“Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses – and first kills. Stillwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. From ABC Signature Studios and executive producers Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis, Ian Goldberg and Steve Pearlman, the series stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Elizabeth Lail, Zelda Williams, Mark Indelicato, Alberto Frezza, Eli Goree, Ronen Rubinstein, Amber Coney and Paulina Singer.

ABC’s Once Upon a Time is going to hell — or a facsimile thereof, when Season 5B premieres Sunday at 8/7c.
When last we tuned in prior to the series’ long winter nap, Emma (seemingly!) transferred all of the Darkness from her and to Hook and then slayed him, (seemingly!) ridding the world of the Darkness forever. Emma, though, is determined to rescue her love from the dire fate that his selfless sacrifice dealt him, by traveling to the Underworld to split and share her heart.

This Sunday, Once Upon a Time airs its midseason premiere. I got a chance to preview it and … it is truly terrific. Even for people who would never consider themselves “Oncers.” This episode takes a quality leap forward in almost every way.
It’s the best episode since Season 1′s “Hat Trick,” my favorite, and in fact for entirely different reasons it is equally as good. It moves along at quite a clip, with more twists and turns than I’ve ever seen on the show. It’s entertaining, well-written, engaging, jam-packed, and fun. Almost everyone brought their “A” game (I’m looking at you, Snow’s wig maker and costume designer).
This is the one to check out for anyone who’s considered watching Once but never got around to it, and in fact I recommend it to those of you who’ve watched an episode here and there but never really got it.

You don’t need to be a fan or even to have seen Once Upon a Time to be able to watch and enjoy Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which premieres tonight on ABC, but if you are a fan of the original, the spinoff will strike enough familiar chords to be of particular delight to you.
Though you’ll see young Alice briefly, this heroine of this limited series is Alice as a young woman. She has confidence and drive and is great fun to watch and root for, and the villains are all easy to “boo”. The storyline and dialogue are a bit wooden but the acting, particularly of Sophie Lowe as Alice and Emma Rigby as the Red Queen, bring this premiere up several notches. It’s charming and fun, and definitely worth a watch.

Yes, Once-ers, it is almost, almost here. The premiere of Season 3. I’ve seen it, and It. Is. Epic. Plan to squee repeatedly. If you aren’t a loyal watcher of Once Upon a Time and are a little hesitant to jump right in, the lovely people at ABC have two ways to get you up to speed quickly.
One is “Journey to Neverland”, a recap special that will air on ABC Sunday at 7/6c, directly before “Heart of the Truest Believer”, the title of the Season 3 premiere. The other is a very full and complete synopsis of the series to date, in written form, below. You may want to draw a chart.
But first we have a TV spot, a clip, and some terrific get-you-in-the-mood posters:

English-born Australian actress Sophie Lowe has landed the lead in ABC‘s Once Upon A Time spinoff project, which now has a title, Once: Wonderland. Also cast in the presentation, from Once Upon A Time creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz is Brit Peter Gadiot. Once: Wonderland is set in pre-curse Wonderland. The story is told through the point of view of Alice (Lowe) who has a generous heart but carries the scars of a long hard life. She is joined by two other characters, Cyrus (Gadiot), Alice’s love interest with a background shrouded in mystery, and the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha), a sardonic adventurer, a man of action, a loner and a heart-breaker. Kitsis and Horowitz are writing the 15-20-page, four-scene presentation with input from Zack Estrin and Jane Espenson. Production is slated to begin April 7 in Vancouver, immediately following the season wrap of Once there.

Now that you’ve checked out the season premiere of ABC’s time-jumping fantasy effort, Once Upon A Time (from two of the masterminds behind Lost, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz), you’ve gotten a taste of what you’re in for. But you’ve far from learned all the secrets the show plans to unleash.
When EW went to the Vancouver set earlier this month, we got to chat with the cast and executive producer Steve Pearlman about what viewers can expect from the coming pages of this tale. Here’s what we learned:
* There will be equal time spent in both worlds.

America's Next Top Model executive producer Ken Mok is returning to ICM. He was recently at Paradigm after following Steve Wohl there 3 years ago. Reality producer Mok was at ICM when his 10x10 Entertainment sold Top Model, which the agency represents. Mok's other unscripted series credits include CW's Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious and Stylista, Bet’s Changing Lanes, MTV’s Making the Band and USA’s WWE Tough Enough. ICM also recently signed non-writing producer Steve Pearlman, who serves as an executive producer on the new ABC drama series Once Upon a Time. Since segueing to producing, the former Warner Bros. TV executive has exec produced such series as V, Related, Dr. Vegas and Reunion. He didn't have agency representation.

When the new version of V first showed up, I was surprisingly hopeful. Back when it was simply a theory, I had little interest in a reboot of the camp alien drama, especially since reworking anything that Marc Singer has been a part of is pure folly. Like many of our recent trips back to the ’80s, there is too serious an air at work here, but the first few episodes were actually rather interesting. After that, the ratings proved that there was a market for the show, and that it was doing a fair job living up to whatever expectations had drawn viewers in.
While there are a variety of twists to the original story, the heart of the matter is the same, and the general architecture of the first season’s plot closely resembles the main points of the original. Aliens come to Earth with smiling faces, faces...

Another day, another update to the Comic Con schedule. Previously we posted Fox's press release detailing the shows the network would be bringing to Comic Con (July 21-25), as well as details about the various panels. Today, Warner Brothers has announced the timing of its various panels and screenings. It looks like WB will be pushing its new CW show Nikita this year, with a special screening to be held on Wednesday, July 21 (otherwise known as "Preview Night"). I've seen Nikita (more on that in a future review) and the question is whether it's worth your time. Well, I liked the show. A lot, actually. So if you can attend the preview, then I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Meanwhile, we have details about the Fringe, Supernatural, Chuck and Smallville panels below, to name but a few.
