“A lot of people try to be what they think people want and not who they are — it’s a huge shame,” Cristin Milioti tells Gold Derby in her exclusive interview about acting in the comedy anthology “Modern Love” (watch the video above). She plays a woman who “keeps meeting up with these men who don’t respect that” she can be more than “this ideal version of what men imagine women are.”
Milioti calls the characterization “very human” and notes about being drawn to the role on the Amazon Prime series, “I felt for her with that, that she’s so clearly dumbing herself down.” She explains broadly, “When you meet a little girl, usually the first thing out of a stranger’s mouth is, ‘Oh my god, you’re so pretty, you’re so cute’ — never ‘Oh my goodness, you’re so smart’ and it’s a conditioning...

Easily the best series I've seen on the Ott platform, "Modern Love" is an ambrosial anthology of eight episodes portraying love in all its splendour, sometimes slender, sometimes hard, but always tender and revealing, each episode has the stand-alone emotional strength of being a full-length feature film.
And the perk, if one may call it that, is the city of New York looming unobtrusively over the stories like a silent narrator, hovering gently over the fate of anxious characters who are so relatable(thanks to the exquisite performances) they rejuvenate the entire romantic genre of filmmaking.
How do I pick my favourite from this beautiful of bouquet of romance? Well, if you insist it would have to be the first story "When The Doorman Is Your Main Man" where a young single privileged girl(Cristin Milioti) in a posh highrise of NY is parentally protected by the building's doorman(brilliantly...

If you’re a fan of romantic films and TV shows, Amazon’s anthology series Modern Love is a show you’ve got to check out! I recently watched the first season and I thought it was wonderful. I’m normally not into these kinds of shows, but this was just a well-made series that told some great stories based on real events. Those stories were inspired by the popular The New York Times column of the same name.
The series explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms, also features a talented cast of actors that include Jane Alexander, Sofia Boutella, Gary Carr, Olivia Cooke, Brandon Victor Dixon, Tina Fey, John Gallagher, Jr., Andy Garcia, Julia Garner, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Anne Hathaway, Catherine Keener, Caitlin McGee, Cristin Milioti, Dev Patel, Laurentiu Possa, James Saito, Andrew Scott, John Slattery and Shea Whigham.

Amazon Prime Video has ordered a second season of half-hour romantic anthology series Modern Love. The news comes a week after what Amazon describes as “successful debut” for the series, inspired by the popular The New York Times column of the same name.
Additionally, Amazon Studios has signed an overall deal with John Carney, Modern Love‘s developer, writer, director and executive producer.
Modern Love, which premiered Oct. 18 to largely positive reviews, explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms, as each standalone episode brings some of the Nyt column’s best known stories to life with an A-list cast. Season two of Modern Love will premiere on Prime Video in 2020 in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

The new anthology series Modern Love explores the different aspects of love and how they influence a wide array of characters. Cristin Milioti’s episode, “When The Doorman Is Your Main Man,” centers on Maggie (Milioti), a woman who, while enduring her share of romantic travails, finds unconditional support from her doorman Guzmin (Laurentiu Possa).

To quote Jerry McGuire, we live in a cynical, cynical world.
It's that never-ceasing cynicism that can lead to a yearning for something bright, a little upbeat.
Amazon's anthology series, Modern Love, based on the New York Time's column of the same name (that turns 15 this month), reminds us that no matter how rueful things look, there is love in the air. You just have to be open to it.
Yes, it's a drippy sentiment oozing with sugar, but Modern Love isn't a sappy series.
Instead, the heartfelt essays adapted from page to screen showcase what love can be when you open yourself to the possibilities. It's sweet without being cloyingly so.
What to Watch Next Week: Arrow, The Purge, Treadstone, Modern Love & More!
And if all this talk of romantic love is getting you down already, buck up! Modern Love isn't about any one specific type of love,...

In the latest series to make the jump from podcast to screen, “Modern Love” is on its way to Amazon Prime Video. With both based on the long-running New York Times column of the same name, the TV version is just a month away from making its debut. Told in an anthology format, the series dramatizes a handful of some of the best-loved stories that first appeared in print.
Some of these “Modern Love” TV episodes center around stories that are closer to a traditional rom-com meet-cute (albeit with a surprise or two up its sleeve). But as with all forms of “Modern Love,” this looks to be a cross-section of emotions that doesn’t just focus on romance.

Love is in the air — in all its dysfunctional glory. Amazon dropped the trailer for its upcoming anthology series “Modern Love” on Thursday, featuring an all-star cast that includes Tina Fey and John Slattery, who play a married couple that is definitely in a rut.
In the video above, when a therapist asks Fey and Slattery’s characters what they do on their “date night,” Fey says “this” — as in going to couple’s therapy. How fun! And that’s just one of eight love stories the series will show you.

The anthology “explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms, as each standalone episode brings some of the column’s most beloved stories to life with a stellar cast.”
