Talk about a photo to remember. In a heroic pic from yesterday's horrific Boston Marathon bombings, former New England Patriots offensive lineman Joe Andruzzi can be seen carrying a female victim just after the two explosions went off killing at least three and wounding dozens of others. The 37-year-old football player holds a woman dressed in running gear while walking down Boston's Exeter Street. Ambulances can also be seen in the background. Both Andruzzi, dressed in jeans and a marathon shirt, and the female runner are visible shaken while heading away from the finish line, where yesterday's tragedy occurred. But the footballer is speaking out about where he'd like the focus to...

Joe Andruzzi, an offensive lineman in the NFL from 1997 to 2006, spending four years with the New England Patriots, was at the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday (April 15) hosting an event with his charitable foundation. He was photographed (above) carrying a woman away from the explosion.
He later tweeted, "[Wife] Jen and I are safe. Thanks for all the tweets. ... Our thoughts & prayers are with all the victims and their families impacted at today's Boston Marathon. Ty to all our emergency personnel."
The woman in the photograph is unidentified.
Andruzzi also released a statement through his foundation's PR agency, drawing attention to the first responders on site:
Marathon Monday should be about uplifting stories, personal challenges and fundraising milestones, but today's bombings irrevocably changed that," the statement said. "While I appreciate the interest in hearing our perspective on today's horrific events, the spotlight should remain firmly on the countless individuals -- first responders,...

Former New England Patriot Joe Andruzzi was in the right place to help Monday - just steps from the finish line of the Boston Marathon where two explosions killed three people. The offensive lineman and three-time Super Bowl player is also a cancer survivor and runs a charitable foundation to assist cancer patients and support pediatric brain cancer research. Andruzzi organizes a team of runners every year at the Boston Marathon as part of their fundraising efforts, which is why he and his wife Jen were there to greet them as they completed their 26.2 mile trek. The Patriots retweeted a...
