Ward Serrill is an award-winning director of The Heart of the Game, released by Miramax to wide critical acclaim and which Ebert and Roeper called "an Oscar level piece of work." He has created more than 90 short films including Building One House with Robert Redford and Wild America with Sissy Spacek. He produced and directed Success at the Core, 50 films for Vulcan Productions, Something in the Water a documentary on Seattle's music scene for PBS and Babies Behind Bars for Starfish Media.
His created the feature documentary, Song of the New Earth, as well as TreeStory, a six-part series devoted to humanity's relationship to trees. His latest feature, The Bowmakers, is in world wide release. Dancing with the Dead: The Life and Times of Red Pine is slated for 2023.
His memoir, To Crack the World Open: Solitude, Alaska, and a Dog Named Woody, is available in bookstores nationally. He taught advanced non-fiction film at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, is an avid tango dancer and lives in Port Townsend, Washington.
