It’s Day 6 of the SAG-AFTRA strike and Day 79 of the WGA strike.
On Wednesday, actors and writers were joined at Amazon Studios in Culver City by members of the Teamsters, after SAG-AFTRA and WGA members joined Teamsters picket lines earlier in the day in a massive demonstration in downtown Los Angeles ahead of a possible strike against Ups. See Deadline’s story here.
In New York today, there were picket lines involving both guilds at 30 Rock, where attendees included now-ex-Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera; in front of Netflix and Warner Bros Discovery on Broadway, where Susan Sarandon, America Ferrera, F. Murray Abraham, Jaimie Alexander, Jack Quaid, David Krumholtz, Samantha Mathis and AnnaSophia Robb were among those walking the line; and at Paramount, which saw attendees including Christian Slater and Michelle and Adrienne Hurd. SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland walked the line at both 30 Rock and Paramount today.

"Oh no! You did not shoot that green shit at me!"
This fan-made mashup video Independence Day: A Star Wars Story does a great job of editing together a scene in which we see Will Smith's Captain Steven Hiller and Jeff Goldblum's David Levinson being pursued by Darth Vader and a couple other Tie Fighter goons as they embark on a mission to destroy the Death Star. This is one of the best movie mashups that I've seen in a long time and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it!

"Must go faster!" A familiar face from the original Jurassic Park trilogy will appear in Jurassic World 2, as THR reveals that Jeff Goldblum has been cast in the sequel.
According to THR, Jeff Goldblum will play a role in Jurassic World 2, the fifth film in the franchise, but it hasn't been confirmed what that role will be.
There are surely many fans who would love to see Goldblum play chaos theorist and stylish mathematician Ian Malcolm, the character from Michael Crichton's novel that he brought to life so memorably in Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Goldblum's infinitely quotable take on Malcolm did not appear in Jurassic Park III, which instead featured the return of Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant and Laura Dern as Ellie.

The Hollywood Reporter brings word tonight that Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul and Emily Ratajkowski have both signed on to star in Welcome Home, a thriller that’s got George Ratliff behind the camera to direct for Voltage Pictures.
In what sounds like a bit of a generic premise, the film will see the two stars play a couple who “spend a weekend at a vacation rental home in the Italian countryside in an attempt to repair their relationship, but soon become victims of the homeowner’s sinister plans.” With a script by David Levinson, Allan Mandelbaum and Tim and Trevor White are on board to produce the pic, which will head into production this May in Tuscany, with plans to sell the film at Cannes.
While this doesn’t sound like the most original pitch as far as thrillers go, Paul’s involvement certainly bodes well for the project.

It’s fairly amazing that it took five men — Nicolas Wright, James A. Woods, Dean Devlin, Roland Emmerich, James Vanderbilt – to conceive the story and pen the script to Independence Day: Resurgence when it trod no new ground and felt like the worst rehash of the original film and many other Sf flicks from the preceding twenty years.
The original ID4 was an unassuming popcorn thriller with implausible science and predictable actions but leavened with strong performances and quirky, fun characters. They were having fun fighting the alien invaders and we had memorable lines and Will Smith punching out an alien with “Welcome to Earth”.
Somehow, these five, including Devlin and Emmerich who gave us the first, left out the fun. Instead, for two hours we see a mix of familiar and unfamiliar figures watch an even larger alien ship arrive, intent on destroying Earth either as an act of...
