Painting and horror movies do occasionally meet and create something great. Recently Velvet Buzzsaw and Bliss have both been well received while covering the art world and blending it with some weird and twisted horror. Legend of the Muse tries to lead down a similar path.
We meet a painter, Adam (Riley Egan) who suddenly gets inspiration when he meets a ‘mythical and deadly spirit from Celtic lore who becomes his muse and lover’. His artwork starts to get noticed but the spirit brings along a whole host of other problems. Mainly that she murders people and leaves Adam to clear up the mess.

The Polaris Society is set to free their earthly bodies and travel the stars. Their leader, Elyon, promises eternity and all everyone has to do is die. Cult members, Spencer and Ursa are having none of that and go on the run. Elyon is going to save their souls, even if he has to kill them.
2020: Doomsday sets the right tone from the first second we’re exposed to grainy, Super8 style footage that can’t help but be eerie as Hell. Whatever we’re forced to watch, with the adults and children with their faces whited out and the strange jerky motion, you get the feeling we’re about to watch something like The Strangers meets a very well done Creepypasta. Unfortunately, it isn’t very good.

*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by Breaking Glass Pictures. Director: Dana Schroeder. Writers: Michael Todd and Kenny Yakkel. Cast: Lance Henriksen, Amy Hathaway, John Savage, Brian Krause and Dave Vescio. Alien Rising is a sci-fi thriller, from director Dana Schroeder (Lost Soul). Previously titled Gemini Rising, this title was completed in 2013 and it is set to be released in 2015. Alien Rising is very CGI heavy and the film's believability suffers. Whole sets are completely constructed in post-production and the results look very poor. Starring Lance Henriksen and Amy Hathaway, Alien Rising is an indie sci-fi title that is more miss than hit. The story's logline sounds good. Alien research, involving telepathy, takes place in a volcano. But, the film is not as great as its premise. Instead, the film brings in an unneeded female protagonist, who is not really part of the research. She is...

Best known for starring in TV series Millennium and three films in the Alien franchise, Lance Henriksen is back in the genre for new project Gemini Rising.
The film explores the possibilities of alien technology when used by the wrong people.
An underground experiment on Earth uses technology found in an extraterrestrial spaceship to create an army of drones.
Director Dana Schroeder's sci-fi thriller centres on Colonel Cencula (Henriksen) whose plans going awry when an agent decides to foil the plot.
Lisa Morgan (Amy Hathaway) hopes to intervene before disaster arises. Meanwhile, other characters are caught in the Colonel's path of destruction, including a brainwashed doctor played by Dave Vescio.
The first trailer for Gemini Rising has now been issued, with the film said to be more along the lines of Kill Bill and the Manchurian Candidate than any obvious sci-fi films.
