In emails from late May (before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ended up being a critical and commercial failure and fans recoiled at the idea of a movie starring The Sinister Six), the spinoff was moving along at a steady pace. However, by the time October rolled around, there was talk of it also featuring Spider-Man, Venom, and Carnage. November meanwhile would see a deal with Marvel begin to fall into place...and then quickly fall apart if some reports are to be believed! Regardless, The Sinister Six has likely gone through a lot of iterations by now, but that makes the following no less interesting. If the movie does somehow happen? Here's who Sony might want! Some additional information has surfaced regarding Marvel's plan for Spider-Man in their cinematic universe. As you know, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have been trying to work out a plan to get Spider-Man into the McU. Marvel initially wanted to introduce the character in Captain America: Civil War, but that fell through. Now they are trying to get the character for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2. There's confirmation of this that has leaked out from twitter user Val Broeksmit, who has been combing through some hacked emails. In them, he found a conversation regarding the matter between Andrew Gumpert, the President of Worldwide Business Affairs and Operations for Columbia Pictures, and Sony Entertainment Chairman Amy Pascal.
Before the Civil War deal fell through, Gumpert said that if the deal did go through, and Marvel gains control of Spider-Man, they don't want Spider-Man's next solo film to be a continuation...

Recently, we all learned Sony has been working on a deal with Marvel Studios that would allow Spider-Man to enter the Marvel cinematic universe. His first appearance could be a cameo in Captain America: Civil War. So, it was assumed Marvel Studio might want to have Spidey make appearances in Avengers 3 and 4 as well, but now we have confirmation of it. Val Broeksmit has been rummaging through Sony's dirty laundry and he came across an interesting email exchange between Andrew Gumpert, the President of Worldwide Business Affairs and Operations for Columbia Pictures, and Sony Entertainment Chairman Amy Pascal. In it, Gumpert told Pascal, if the deal goes through and Marvel gains control of Spider-Man they don't want Spidey's next solo film to be a continuation of the Captain America: Civil War plot just because he would be making a cameo in it. But, Spidey's new universe would "exist in a...
