- Writer
Valerio Pizzonia was born and raised in Rome. From his mother and his
granny he inherited his great love for the Eternal City. During his
high school years, Valerio traveled a lot: most of Europe, Scandinavia,
North and South America and India. At the age of 19 he moved in the
U.S.A. to follow his other great love: Movies. He attended the Emerson
College in Boston, where he graduated after only three years, getting a
B.A. in Visual and Media Arts. After College he moved to Los Angeles;
his first experience was an internship at Paramount Classics. During
the following years he has been working as a waiter, while working as
well in different productions, from big TV shows to indie movies, to
high budget shorts. In 2006 he moved back to Rome to work on the
biggest set of the world, the one of HBO's Rome. In November of the
same year he worked on the New Line feature "Inkheart". Then, Valerio
wrapped his first short "Until death do us part", that is planning to
make into a feature film in the near future. Now Valerio is currently
in Toronto, Canada, working on a documentary called "Breasticide: a
breast cancer story" directed by Melissa Munroe. Valerio joined the
documentary to help with the development of production as he is helping
the director on different departments, from shooting, to editing, to
producing, but most of all, to learn as much as he could on an issue
that people are usually too scared to talk and learn about.
