Harvey Weinstein, the New York Attorney General’s office, former members of the Weinstein Co. board, and several women who have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct have tentatively reached a $44 million settlement deal, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
Approximately $30 million of that total would go to a consortium of plaintiffs in several lawsuits filed, among them creditors and former employees, as well as Weinstein’s accusers, the Journal reported. The rest would pay the legal fees of Weinstein’s associates, including ex-board members who are named in the suits. The deal is not final yet, but if it goes through the amount will be paid through insurance policies, the newspaper said.
According to the Journal, a lawyer representing Bob Weinstein told the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware on Thursday that “For the first time, as of yesterday… we now have an economic agreement in principle that is supported by the plaintiffs,...

Hailie Jade Mathers Scott is hip-hop royalty thanks to her famous father, Eminem. Now a 21-year-old student at Michigan State University, she’s known the world over as the spark behind some of the rapper’s best known songs—even performing guest vocals on a number of tracks. But while Em has been making headlines for nearly two decades, Hailie’s mother, Kim Scott, has mostly stayed out of the spotlight. In fact, the public perception of Scott has been largely shaped by Eminem’s less-than-complimentary lyrics, but her story is just as dramatic as one of Em’s verses.

Fox News contributor Keith Ablow came under fire on Monday from a prominent historian who called his remarks about guns and the Holocaust “reckless and wrongheaded.” Leonard Steinhorn, a history professor at American University in Washington, D.C. and a political analyst for CBS News, said Ablow’s op-ed in support of Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson’s claim that armed Jews could have prevented the Holocaust was irresponsible. “It would be nice if TV personalities took their responsibilities seriously and examined the history before making reckless and wrongheaded statements, particularly about the Holocaust,” Steinhorn told TheWrap as he took aim at Ablow’s FoxNews.

Fox News commentator Keith Ablow defended Ben Carson’s controversial comments linking gun control to the Holocaust, but took it up a notch by stating that Jews might have avoided the genocide had they more actively resisted the Nazi regime by refusing to turn over their weapons. “The mindset that Jews surrendered with their guns is far more important than the hardware they turned over: They surrendered the demonstrated intention, at all costs, to resist being deprived of liberty,” Ablow wrote Friday in an op-ed for FoxNews.com. While agreeing with the Anti-Defamation League that there weren’t enough guns...

It's an unspoken rule that you never judge a woman's weight ("Do I look fat in this?" Answer: no), so you can imagine our shock when Fox News' commentator Keith Ablow criticized Michelle Obama's figure on live television. No, seriously. The 52-year-old television personality stopped by the daytime Fox News program Outnumbered on Tuesday, where the panel was discussing the first lady's healthy eating initiative to prevent childhood obesity and encourage better nutrition amongst the American public. Has Fox's resident psychiatric "expert" Keith Ablow jumped the shark yet? Short answer: Yes. At this point, he's definitely wearing water skis and a leather jacket while jumping over a shark. Bill O'Reilly is really befuddled by the popularity of "Gangnam Style" — so befuddled that he brought controversial Fox News psychiatrist Keith Ablow on for an existential discussion about the viral sensation on Tuesday.

Fox News' medical correspondent Dr. Keith Ablow was last seen condemning respect for transgendered people, and this week came out with a piece that was vintage Ablow: Newt Gingrich, he argued, would make a great present precisely because he had been a philandering weasel. As you probably already know, this year one of the contestants on Dancing with the Stars is Chaz Bono, a transgender man, writer, Lgbt activist, and son of Sonny and Cher. Being a transgender man myself, I had mixed reactions when I first heard the announcement that he would be competing.
On the one hand, I was excited that they were willing to branch out and include a transgender contestant, even if that was sure to – and did, in fact – attract a lot of negative attention. As they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
But I did wonder if the show would have wanted Chaz if he were not transgender. If he were still Chastity. Was being transgender itself enough to qualify you as a "celebrity?" Was including him on the show just a ratings gimmick?

Look, I'm the first to crack a Justin Bieber joke, but this hit piece, Does Justin Bieber Have Gender Identity Issues? is beyond tacky. And the author claims to be a doctor. I'm guessing from the same institution of higher learning that produced Fox's Dr. Keith Ablow.
This Catholic mom is afraid to leave her house for fear of seeing something gay. She was recently scandalized by "one gay couple was engaged in inappropriate 'elbow-rubbing.' Another lesbian couple was hugging in a way that was 'clearly not friendly.'" Honestly, I don't want to call her a bigot, because she's obviously in need of help.
In news from Austalia that is yet to be authenticated, a graphic that appeared after the finale for Torchwood: Miracle Day said Captain Jack would return in 2012.

The unlikely, but infinitely appealing combination of Darren Criss, Susan Sarandon, and Laura Linney are the new faces of clothing giant Uniqlo. Previously, all I knew about Uniqlo was that Russell Tovey slept in their boxer shorts. Not I know they design clothes with boobs in mind.
Just when I thought that Locke & Key was dead, there's news that MTV may have an interest in the show if they can afford production. From what I know of the series, it could make an interesting companion for Teen Wolf. Put some of that Jersey Shore money to work!
Job application, or Grindr ad?
Reese Witherspoon is recovering at home after being struck by a car while jogging. I knew exercise was going to kill someone eventually.
A huge Nasa satellite is going to make an uncontrolled reentry into the atmosphere, and it's likely that at least a dozen pieces will impact the surface at unknown locations.

In response to the Internet backlash against transgender Chaz Bono’s decision to join the season 13 cast of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, attorney Gloria Allred has joined Robin Tyler, executive director of the Equality Campaign, and Lgbt activist and comedian Belinda Carroll to co-chair a viewing party in Los Angeles on Sept. 19 to watch Chaz perform. Allred was the one who decided to add a dance element to the event, she said at a news conference this morning. “I look forward to dancing on that evening with any transitioned male or female who invites me to dance,” she said.

Psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow recently wrote an editorial on Fox News urging parents not to allow their kids to watch "Dancing with the Stars" when Chaz Bono is on.
Ablow's editorial explains: "Many of the children who might be watching will be establishing a sense of self which includes, of course, a sexual/gender identity. Young viewers will include tomboyish girls and sensitive, less stereotypically "masculine" boys. They will also include children who have sustained...

Chaz Bono used to be Chastity Bono, and that’s just plain bad enough in the minds of some. But now, the he-who-used-to-be-a-she is flaunting it -- flaunting it, I tell you -- by daring to appear on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars on ABC in the U.S. He will be the show’s first transgendered contestant. This, of course, infuriates some. Dr. Keith Ablow, a member of “the Fox News Medical A-Team” and apparently the worst psychiatrist ever, is “advis[ing] parents to not allow their children to watch the episodes in which Chaz appears”: Here’s why: Many of the children who might be watching will be establishing a sense of self which includes, of course, a sexual/gender identity. Some will be girls becoming comfortable with dramatic changes in their bodies. Some will be boys coming to terms with integrating the dawn of...

First off, huge congratulations to Cheyenne Jackson and his boyfriend husband Monte Lapka, who just got married in a beach ceremony in the Hamptons. As Cheyenne tweeted, "It's official, after 11 years together, Zora's no longer a bastard. Just married the best man I've ever known."
The Vatican is so upset that the Irish government called them out publicly for being uncooperative in the pedophile priest problem in that country that they've recalled their official envoy. Seriously, with scandal after scandal, each one finding the church covered up the abuse for decades, they have the balls to play the outraged victim again?
If this article that is about registering the poor to vote being un-American isn't enough to give you an aneurysm, then head on into the comments where it gets so much worse. It seems that for these commenters, you should have to be a wealthy landowner in order to have the right to suffrage.

Hide your kids! You may have already heard that Chaz Bono, the transgendered former daughter of Cher and Sonny Bono who recently and very publicly underwent gender reassignment surgery, is going to be a contestant on ABC's extremely popular Dancing with the Stars, where he'll be competing with a female dance partner. And some people are pissed. Psychiatrist and frequent Fox News contributor Dr. Keith Ablow reacted to the news with an editorial piece denouncing ABC's decision and, indeed, expressing denying that transgendered individuals even exist.

Transgender activist Chaz Bono has responded to the controversy of his casting on Dancing With the Stars 2011 season 13 by saying he thinks America needs to see him on the show. Since the announcement that Chaz Bono would be competing on DWTS season 13, the celebrity offspring of Sonny and Cher has faced numerous attacks from the public and the media for appearing on the show.
Monica Cole, director of OneMillionMoms.com, told Inside Edition on Wednesday that members of her organization would “not be able to watch the show with Chaz on there.” Cole said having Bono on the show “is going to be very confusing for children, and [Bono] should not be included in their cast.”
Dr. Keith Ablow, a psychiatrist and member of the Fox News Medical A-Team, posted an ‘opinion’ piece on FoxNews.com advising “parents to not allow their children to watch the episodes in which Chaz appears.

Andrew Garfield is looking to be an unconventional Spider-Man, and now he's being an unconventional mega-star. His next role is going to be on Broadway in Death of a Salesman opposite Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
I've tried, but I just can't get into Google+. And now that they intend to bring games to the baby social network, I'll just be sticking with my Twitter account.
I adore Christine Baranski as any gay man should. But I do think she's taking Pan Am and The Playboy Club a little too seriously. ""I'm rather appalled that they're now making television shows about Playboy bunnies and stewardesses, and I think, really? Haven't we gone past that, well past that? It's one of the reasons I'm so happy to be on such an intelligent show that portrays women as complex, intelligent, educated human beings."

Professional talking heads try to follow a number of simple rules when appearing on television -- basics guidelines like sitting up straight, looking to camera and not wearing clothing with small patterns of stripes or checks. And though it's not a generally accepted standard because it hasn't probably come up that often, let's add the following axiom: never assure to a fellow debate opponent that you are "not a pedophile," as Dr. Keith Ablow did this morning in an appearance on Fox and Friends.

Had enough of Casey Anthony for a while? If so, that's a shame, because she's coming to your local bookstore. St. Martin's Press has acquired the North American rights to "Inside the Mind of Casey Anthony," which is being penned by forensic psychiatrist and Fox News psychiatry contributor Dr. Keith Ablow. The book is being rushed to publication for a 2011 release, according to St. Martin's. Ablow provided analysis of Anthony's trial for Fox News. Now here's a way to start the weekend out on a fun note.
Bill Maher assembled a particularly eclectic panel for the July 8 of "Real Time," including Ann Coulter, Chris Hayes, Amanda Foreman and Chaz Bono.
As if watching Coulter and Maher exchange barbs wasn't a treat in and of itself, the addition of Sonny and Cher's transgendered son made things particularly exciting.
Conversation remained remarkably civilized, though -- even when the topic turned to Fox News contributor/psychiatrist Keith Ablow labeling Maher anti-woman and more-or-less calling him crazy.
We did get a gem from Coulter, though. Apparently a belief in a god and the need for therapy are mutually exclusive. (Take that, depressed churchgoers!)
Mediaite was kind enough to post the spicier portion of the panel, which you can watch in full below:...

Recently Jon Stewart received the attention of many Fox News personalities, and now it seems Media Matters founder David Brock and his organization are the new people of interest. This morning Juan Williams suggested Media Matters is trying to ruin people's lives, and now Fox News contributor Dr. Keith Ablow weighs in with his psychological profile of what exactly makes Brock tick.

Today on Fox & Friends, Fox News contributor and professional psychiatrist Keith Ablow gave his assessment of HBO's Bill Maher based on his recent rant about Bristol Palin. Maher, you'll recall, went after the younger Palin for a passage in her new book, Not Afraid of Life, where she describes losing her virginity to Levi Johnston, her then-boyfriend and father of her child.
