Eugene Hornbacker
Eugene Hornbacker, a boxer from the Victorian era, had little to do with filmmaking of any sort. His debut was in 1894, when the inventor Thomas Edison hired him to perform in a boxing match for a Kinetoscope short, against a challenger, Murphy. This was Hornbacker's only appearance in film as he starred in no more of Edison's Kinetoscope subjects, and thus he remained a minor part in the silent cinema, both acting and none-acting.
