Stentz and Clark previously sold a scripted pilot to Apple+ in 2019 based on the Arabian Nights IP, and concocted a re-imaging of The Island Of Dr. Moreau with production partner Gunpowder & Sky, where Clark previously had a production deal. Clark most recently produced Ryan Phillippe action movie The 2nd, which was sold to multiple markets by Voltage Pictures.
Stentz said: “Like a lot of writers, the enforced shutdown of the pandemic ended up lighting a creative fire in me. After a career spent largely playing in established franchises,...

Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label Dust is developing a modern take on the classic H.G. Wells novel The Island of Dr. Moreau. The series will be titled Moreau and will be written by Zack Stentz.
“The double helix wasn’t even a twinkle in Watson & Crick’s eye when H.G. Wells first wrote The Island of Dr. Moreau, but his 1896 novel proved astonishingly prescient about how unlocking the secrets of DNA would open the door to humanity playing God with the natural world in strange and frightening ways,” said Stentz. “And now, in the shadow of the Crispr revolution, it felt like the perfect time to revisit Moreau and bring it into our own 21st Century world of transgenic animals, designer babies and other scientific advances Wells never could have dreamed of.

As I’ve been saying… from what the man and the filmmakers have said, this is supposed to be Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s coming out party. Mario Van Peebles directed the film, titled, Things Fall Apart – a project and performance that Mr Jackson himself has said will surprise his fans and doubters!
Fiddy lost 54 pounds in preparation for his role in the movie in which he plays a promising professional football player prospect in his senior year in college, whose career is challenged after he discovers that he has cancer – hence the drastic weight-loss. Some family drama, familiar tragic circumstances, self-actualization leading to redemption. Any guesses on how it ends?
Things fall apart co-stars Ray Liotta, Lynn Whitfield, Mario Van Peebles himself, and Tracey Heggins, whom we last saw in Barry Jenkins’ Medicine For Melancholy. Nice to see her getting some more work.
I’ve already said that I expect...

After dating for just six months, film producer Geoff Clark proposed to Grey's Anatomy actress Leven Rambin while walking along a beach in the Bahamas over New Year's. But was Clark moving too fast? Here's hoping she didn't have her heart set on a (legal) wedding day toast. Grey's Anatomy's newest addition, Leven Rambin, has gotten engaged at the ripe old age of 19 to boyfriend Geoff Clark. There's no official word on how the question was popped, whether a date has been set and whether her teen pregnancy storyline on the nighttime soap is in any way foreshadowing her current situation (you never know), but the bride-to-be did acknowledge the betrothal on her Twitter page just last night after a follower offered congratulations. "Thanks ;)," she wrote. Ok, apparently she's going to play this one close to the vest.
