Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham stood apart from his peers with a bag of tricks that made his sound impossible to copy. Yet he was like many other classic rock drummers in one way — he rarely received songwriting credits with his band. Still, Bonham wrote several Led Zeppelin songs, including one without any assistance at all.
John Bonham received writing credits for Led Zeppelin songs and revamped blues tunes

Many of Zep’s early tunes were reworkings of blues standards. Page said he divided songwriting credits evenly in those cases.

Get a sneak peek at Malcolm McDowell on "Community"!
The study group at Greendale Community College has their next class all picked out: They'll take "The History of Ice Cream," which should get them all easy A's.
There's a small problem with their plan, however: They don't get into the popular class, and they have to take European History instead. McDowell (who, ironically enough, appeared in "Easy A") plays their new professor, and he's about as happy and well-adjusted as all their previous teachers (which is to say, he's not happy and well-adjusted at all).
Experience the new teacher's pomposity in HuffPost TV's exclusive clip above from "Alternative History of the German Invasion" (airing Thurs., Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. Est on NBC). By the way, Thursday's episode also features the return of the German foosball jerks from last season, as well as the re-appearance of Chang (Ken Jeong).

Beverley McGarvey chief programming officer for the Ten Network talks about her media habits and media trends in a Q&A first published on Encore.
Who is the most powerful person in Australian media and why?
Government policy and regulation touches pretty much everything we do on a day- to-day basis, so I would have to say communications minister, Stephen Conroy. From the amount of advertising we can sell, to the accuracy of our electronic program guide data, we have to check the rules every time we take a breath. Importantly, though, I think Senator Conroy gets the fact that this industry is going through a period of major structural change and he has taken some positive steps to make sure we can keep doing what we do, particularly for local content.
What one medium could you not live without?
Free-to-air television. I tend to consume content on many devices at different times,...

Before we begin, let us take a minute, or ten, to pay homage to the Supernatural finale anthem “Carry on My Wayward Son”.
Okay… here we go. *deep breath*
Last week, the brothers collected the blood of an Alpha Vampire, bringing the Levi weapon down to the last remaining ingredients – bone of a righteous mortal and Crowley’s blood. Meanwhile, Bobby managed to possess a maid and escape with his flask, and Dick Roman trapped Crowley under a Devil’s Trap.
We return where we left off, with Crowley and Dick “negotiating like proper psychopaths.” Dick, initially, tries patronizing Crowley, but Crowley tells him to cut it out. He knows that Dick knows about the weapon and also that Crowley’s blood is integral to it. And the fact that Dick hasn’t killed him yet means that he has something up his sleeve.
So Dick lays it on him.

Rocking the house at the Safari Club International annual convention, Sarah Palin warned Obama was out for their gun rights-and dangled a major hint about 2012. Andrew Romano reports.
It's 8:00 on Saturday night in Reno, and 2,500 of the most avid members of Safari Club International-the sort of hunters who target lions instead of, say, ducks--are packed into the Tuscany Ballroom at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino, poking at their Chocolate Hazelnut Bombe with Frangelico Cream. Some are dressed in tuxedos; others are sporting ankle-length hides and Flintstone-style fang necklaces. In the world's largest and most active big-game hunting organization, "semi-formal" seems to have many meanings. The assembled masses have reached that special part of the evening when the filet mignon is finished, the awards have been awarded, and the green and blue laser beams that periodically shoot from the stage are no longer as dazzling as they were two hours ago.

It contains some All-Star spoilers, as well as some All-Star really bad Photoshops. Top Chef is back! And some of us are more excited than others: It’s the first ever Top Chef All-stars season, meaning it’s time to stretch the definition of the word “Stars” and/or “All”. We’ve got some returning could’ve-won greats like Tiffany, Richard, Tre, Jennifer, and Angelo, plus some returning gonna-lose-againers like Stephen Asprinio, and seriously Stephen Asprinio. Strap yourselves in for the long food-haul, because once again, there are seriously so many chefs right now: After the jump, it’s Quickfiring time (and I don’t mean quickly firing Stephen back off the show): Aww, so many familiar faces! It’s like putting on 6,000 old pairs of shoes, some of which should...

Only five episodes in, "Mad Men's" fourth season has already proven to be one of the series' strongest, and definitely its most entertaining. But unlike its predecessors, "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword's" competing narratives had decidedly stronger competing tones. There was drama at the agency, but also plenty of hijinks and laughs -- like "The West Wing" during its Sorkin years. But back at the Draper and Francis residences? "Mommie Dearest." The experience on the family side of things reminded me of reading Jonathan Franzen's brilliant The Corrections, which was both enjoyable and miserable. I knew I was reading an impressive piece of fiction, but I couldn't help but feel like it was a punishment. Perhaps in "Mad Men," the dissonance was more acute this time because the storylines shared an episode, scenes alternating between the drama of Don and Betty's kids and that of Sterling Cooper Draper Price.

Only two episodes in, I'm already loving "Mad Men's" Season Four as the series finally appears to be shifting into pay-off mode -- it now has an intentional momentum to it that mirrors the progressing society the characters now find themselves in late 1964. The lives in "Mad Men" aren't static anymore, with men and women clinging to the post-war commercialism and complacency; they're moving, and the characters and series are moving with them. It took us awhile (including several crises and an assassination) to get here, but the second episode this season, "Christmas Comes But Once a Year," kept the story and its characters moving as it surveyed the changing social landscape in terms of family dynamics, sexual politics and the necessity of the conga line at all office parties. Plus, the styles are changing, too. Nice hairdos.

As evidenced by the title, “Christmas Comes But Once A Year” takes place just before Christmas, 1964. It delves deeper into what life has become for Don and Sally since the divorce, with Don continuing his descent into loneliness and Sally dealing with her struggle with the help of a friend.
We see from the very beginning of the episode that Allison is one of the better secretaries Don has had. She brings him his mail, reads him the letter from Sally (and gets teary over Sally’s despair of not having Don around for Christmas), and agrees to buy the presents for his family. It is clear that the two have a connection that hasn’t been there with any of his other secretaries, and although this appears to be a good thing, we see that in Don’s current state it is anything but.

Chicago – The legendary Richard Curtis returns this week with “Pirate Radio,” the story of Radio Rock and the first disc jockeys to ever play rock and roll in the United Kingdom. Co-starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Nick Frost, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Sturridge, and many more, “Pirate Radio” is another ensemble comedy from the man who made the beloved “Love Actually” and wrote “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” “Notting Hill,” and created “Black Adder”. Curtis recently sat down with HollywoodChicago.com (and Matt Fagerholm of Film Monthly and Locke Peterseim of RedBlog) to discuss his new film and its inspirations.
Naturally, if a writer is going to make a film about the power of rock music, he probably has a pretty close kinship to the tunes of the era himself. Curtis vividly remembers tuning into Radio Rock on his transistor, a moment copied for the very first shot of “Pirate Radio...
