- A native of Beaumont, Texas. He is a graduate of West Side High School in Beaumont. He also received his Bachelor's degree in Communications, with a minor in Theater from Prairie View A&M University. During his freshman year at Prairie View A&M University, he was a founding member of a trio Rapor (Andre, Cedric and Jeff) that won the Homecoming Talent Showcase, the first time that a freshman group had won the contest. With the absence of the Jeff the group continued for two more years. Cedric did not return to school and Andre began his solo career. He released his first album, This is Andre on Unitan Records. Andre is the recipient of many awards for his athletic, academic and musical abilities including Best Male Vocalist (Solo and Group), Outstanding Freshman Male and Most Handsome. - Andre' Pitre's musical career was enhanced at Prairie View A&M University when he helped formed the freshman group Rapor with Cedric Goodman of Dallas, and Jeffrey Johnson of St. Louis. The group entered the 1993 Homecoming Talent Contest for the chance to be the opening act on campus concerts and won, the first for a freshman group. From there the group performed as part of the programs throughout the year. The group lost Jeff in 1994 when he did not return to school. Andre and Cedric decided on a Duet and performed on several showcases and appeared on the Black College Talent Showcase in Washington, DC. They also recorded several songs. Soon after, Cedric did not return to college in 1995, so Andre decided to go solo. From the beginning, Frederick V. Roberts, President of UNITAN Records, (independent), was there to nurture and grow the group and continued to assist Andre with his solo career. Andre released his first CD: This is Andre' on UNITAN Records and began touring college campuses and other venues across the country. Andre's career was further enhanced through his participation in the famed Charles Gilpin Players directed by the venerable C. Lee Turner, the university's drama program and the University Concert Chorale.
