Vertical is shifting the theatrical release of Rebecca Miller’s romantic comedy “She Came to Me” by a week. The film, which stars Peter Dinklage, Anne Hathaway and Marisa Tomei, will open on Oct. 6 instead of Sept. 29, when it was originally slated to premiere. Vertical opted to change its release strategy after Apple decided to move the opening of Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” to later in the month. “She Came to Me” was granted an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA, which means that the cast will be able to do promotional activity around its release despite the fact that actors are on strike against major studios and streamers.
“In light of ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ release date shift, we jumped at the opportunity for the Oct. 6 date for ‘She Came to Me,'” Vertical Partner Peter Jarowey commented. “It is a competitively less crowded weekend which...

Peter Dinklage takes creative inspiration from a sexual experience with Marisa Tomei amid marital struggles between himself and Anne Hathaway in the first trailer for She Came to Me.
Rebecca Miller (Maggie’s Plan) wrote and directed the romantic-comedy film that hits theaters Sept. 29 from Vertical Entertainment. The feature centers on an opera composer (Dinklage) who is married to a therapist (Hathaway) and has a fling with a tugboat captain (Tomei), which leads to a professional breakthrough for him. Brian d’Arcy James and Joanna Kulig also star.
“I’m suffering from a temporary blockage at the moment,” Dinklage says in the footage. Later in the trailer, Tomei tells him, “I was really angry at you, and now it turns out I’m your muse.”
She Came to Me counts Danny Cohen, Amanda Ghost and Vince Holden as executive producers. Hathaway, Miller, Len Blavatnik, Damon Cardasis, Pamela Koffler and Christine Vachon are producers.

The project was launched around the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, at a private event aboard billionaire investor Blavatnik’s yacht, where cast members from the Aussie musical performed a number of songs on the vessel’s upper deck.
Blavatnik, sporting a baseball cap with branding for the movie, introduced the singers, making it clear to the intimate gathering aboard his three-floor yacht that he was an enthusiastic backer of the project and, indeed, Wilson.

Epic Records, one of the many smaller labels under the giant Sony Music umbrella, has a respectable history that dates back to it's humble beginnings in 1953 as a jazz and classical label. It came into its own in the 1970's with the Yardbirds, Boston, and The Clash. Then in the 1980's Epic exploded with acts like Sade, Cyndi Lauper, and Michael Jackson. The label's successes continued into the 90's with bands like Pearl Jam and Rage Against the Machine.
More recently, a marginalized roster and vastly diminished record sales along with rumors of internal trouble may have gone unnoticed in an industry that continues to suffer all around -- but it has all come to a head with the firing of the label's president, an obscure songwriter named Amanda Ghost whose public tantrum at Cmj in New York last month was the final one she'd have as head of Epic.

And Ghost insists she wont be severing all ties with Epic, adding, "It is has been a real honour and privilege to have worked with Rob Stringer and the whole Epic staff and I look forward to working closely with them on future projects".

For all the craziness surrounding it, Shakira's latest is a straightforward, oddly personal record, in Bigger Than the Sound.

Conventional wisdom states that you shouldn't review a record after it's already been in stores for more than a month (overseas, anyway), but when the record in question has been described as "endearingly bonkers" and "fantastically strange" and leads with an Italian-disco-indebted first single that features the word "lycanthropy," well, sometimes you have to ignore conventional wisdom and just go for it.
So, yes, this is my take on Shakira's She Wolf (which hits stores here in the U.S. next week with a surplus of bonus tracks), a slinky, sexy, spirited pop/disco bonbon that's all hips and lips and handclaps, with the occasional cowbell or clarinet (or mouth trumpet/ electro urchin/ Matt Damon shout-out) sprinkled in for good measure. It's...

Jennifer Lopez becomes 'Lola' on her new single. The singer-and-actress has adopted the new persona for dance tune 'Fresh Out the Oven' - which is available to listen to on the internet - but is not going to perform as her alter-ego all the time. A source said: "Lola is just for this song, it's not her ongoing persona. It's something fun. It isn't like when Beyonce Knowles performs as 'Sasha Fierce'. There won't be anything to do with 'Lola' on her 'Love?' album." 'Fresh Out the Oven' is being promoted as a "club record" and features rapper Pitbull and was produced by The Neptunes. A fresh material from Jennifer Lopez called "Fresh Out of the Oven" has made its round. Having rapper Pitbull on the hook, the track is produced by The Neptunes and contains up-tempo jams which allow people to dance.
"Definitely something very, very sexy," Pitbull offered his comment to MTV about the duet song back in September. "Produced by Pharrell [Williams], look out for it. It's kind of like eyes wide shut."
When the track came out, rumor suggested it would be included in J-Lo's upcoming studio album tentatively titled "Love?". There was also speculation that she would launch her alter ego, Lola. However, both reports were turned down by her camp.
"This is a hot club record that the label loved and Jennifer thought was fun," Amanda Ghost, president of Epic Records explained to People. "Jennifer and Pitbull got together and the record leaked. Lola is a fun character just for this song.

Jennifer Lopez has just released her new single entitled "Fresh Out the Oven", featuring rapper Pitbull. The song has made its way out via a website and Twitter account, which also introduce a dancing female figure named Lola, who is believed to be her new alter ego.
However, a source close to Jennifer has denied rumor that she has adopted Lola as her new persona, saying "Lola is just for this song, it's not her ongoing persona." Then, Amanda Ghost, the president of Epic Records told People, "Lola is a fun character just for this song."
Produced by The Neptunes, "Fresh Out the Oven" is speculated to be the lead single off Jennifer Lopez's upcoming, not-yet-titled album. In contrary, People reported that the track will not be included in her new record.
Previously, the Latino singer has confirmed that she has been working on a full length studio album.

Michael Jackson's record label, Epic Records, has confirmed that his new songs, which were crafted before he passed away, will indeed be released. The statement is made by the company's president Amanda Ghost who is also a singer/songwriter during an interview with BBC News.
Amanda says, "I have no idea when it's coming out, but it will come out on Sony/Epic." Explaining why they do not want to rush the album, she states, "We haven't made any decisions because we just want to be respectful for his memory and not be seen in any way as trying to cash in."
On what will be offered to fans in this project, Amanda shares her thought, "If we do release anything of unreleased material, it has to be fantastic and it can't damage in any way his legacy or his legend and I won't let that happen at Epic.

Best Original Song - Motion Picture “The Wrestler” – The Wrestler (Music & Lyrics By: Bruce Springsteen) “Down To Earth” – Wall-e (Music By: Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman) “Gran Torino” – Gran Torino (Music By: Clint Eastwood, Jamie Cullum, Kyle Eastwood and Michael Stevens) “I Thought I Lost You” – Bolt (Music & Lyrics By: Miley Cyrus and Jeffrey Steele) “Once In A Lifetime” – Cadillac Records (Music & Lyrics By: Beyoncé Knowles, Amanda Ghost, Scott McFarmon, Ian Dench, James Dring and Jody Street)
It’s good to see Bruce take one home for The Wrestler. Great movie, moving song.
