Dave Turin is back for a new Gold Rush spinoff America’s Backyard Gold. He is helping out everyday gold miners get the most gold they can without buying the big machinery that folks see on the Og. However, a few years back, Turin stepped away from the hit Discovery series after a shocking fight that viewers still talk about.
Now, Dozer Dave is on his fourth series with Discovery. What happened?

Treasure is all around you, if you just know where to look. That’s the message of the new Discovery Channel reality series America’s Backyard Gold. In a sneak peek from the March 15 series premiere, host Dave Turin teams up with an amateur prospector to hunt for gold. In just minutes, their search turns up a nugget worth $100. Turin spent more than a decade digging for buried treasure on Gold Rush and Dave Turin’s Lost Mine. Those shows focused on professional miners hunting for gold. The risks (and the equipment) were big, but so was the potential reward.

Carlos Alcaraz commented on the fast courts at the 2023 Atp Finals after his loss to Alexander Zverev, and he spoke about it a bit more after the win over Andrey Rublev.
The first match Alcaraz played at the Atp Finals was a match against Alexander Zverev, and he really struggled with the conditions. Zverev's serve being a monster didn't really help as he couldn't find a solution at all.
He lost that match and lamented about the courts after that. He wasn't sure why the courts played so much faster than any other court during the entire season, but it looked a lot better in the second match against Rublev, which he won.
After that match, Alcaraz admitted that he struggles with Turin's conditions because they are so different from everything he experienced all year.
Well, outdoors is slower. The courts that we've been playing this year were so,...

Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev had some solid battles, and another one is coming up at the 2023 Atp Finals in Turin.
While Alcaraz's participation in Turin was never really in doubt after a good start to the year, Zverev had to labor far more. It came down to the final few weeks for the German, who actually signed up late for the Sofia Open after crashing out early from Paris.
He would send it back one day later after he qualified, thanks to the losses of other players in Paris as well, but it showed how long he had to wait to finally relax. He deserves a place there because he had a really solid season overall, considering that he returned from a gruesome injury earlier this year.
Head-to-head:
The head-to-head is pretty equal so far. They both have three wins a piece. The most recent match happened at the US Open,...

Carlos Alcaraz never took on Andrey Rublev, but it's happening at the upcoming Atp Finals, and it should be a good match.
When you hear the names of Alcaraz and Rublev, you instantly think of the forehand, a major weapon for both players. We should see plenty of forehand winners by both players in what promises to be a very interesting match.
Rublev had some decent showings in recent weeks, but his form, as always, is up and down. Alcaraz didn't even play that much lately due to injuries so we don't really know what kind of shape he really is.
The interesting thing is that they practiced against each other in Turin, which could play a factor in the matchup since they never played before.
Head-to-head:
Yes, this will be the first time we see Rublev take on Alcaraz, and that's quite surprising. We never saw them go head-to-head,...

Grigor Dimitrov and Novak Djokovic are very good friends off the court, and the Serbian comforted his friend after beating him in the 2023 Paris Masters final.
Dimitrov has not had the type of success Djokovic has had in his career. He's still had a really strong career, one of the better ones we've seen in recent years. He's been Top 3, he's made deep runs at Grand Slams, and he won an Atp Masters 1000 title before.
This week didn't see him conclude the way he wanted to, but it was his best week in years. It's the first time he made an Atp 1000 final since 2017, so there is plenty to be happy about.
Even so, we're all humans; we are sad when things go our way, and Dimitrov was in tears after losing to Djokovic on Sunday . The Serbian noticed his friend crying and went over there to comfort him a...

Taylor Fritz had a minor chance of making the Atp Finals before the Paris Masters , but it all went up in smoke when he withdrew from the event.
Fritz, of course, played at the Atp Finals last year and had a pretty big goal of playing there also this year. It won't be happening because he didn't earn enough points this year compared to last.
He has more wins this year compared to last, but he hasn't quite won as many events, which obviously contributed to him missing the event. He was in striking distance before the Paris Masters and had a decent chance as he played really well the previous year.
Unfortunately, he had to withdraw from the event due to an oblique injury that was too severe for him to play.
Playing on that injury would have likely caused more harm, which then would have put next year...

Jannik Sinner seemingly took a step forward this year, and he credits both his work ethic as well as the great team he has.
There have been quite a few good moments for Jannik Sinner this year and some bad ones as well. Still, the overall picture seems rather positive, he's taken a step forward, which is good. Proof of that came in Toronto, where he won his maiden Atp 1000 trophy by beating Alex de Minaur in the final .
Consistency still remains an issue for Sinner, but he's started to win matches regularly, which is the first step. Now it's about showing up regularly, especially when he's facing a good player like Novak Djokovic. Besides being a hard worker, part of the credit goes out to his team, with whom he shares a close bond.
"I would describe my team as nice people, happy people. Everyone knows very well what he has to do.

Being stupid, as the saying goes, is like being dead – you’re oblivious either way, so it’s only really a problem for the people around you. The people around TV documentarian Philomena Cunk therefore, have a major problem.
At the end of January this year, America met Cunk properly for the first time when new show Cunk on Earth arrived on Netflix US. A documentary series follow-up to 2018’s Cunk on Britain, it’s an ambitious attempt to sum up the history of humankind in five half-hour episodes, made even more ambitious by the fact that it’s presented by a total moron.
A deliberate total moron, let’s be clear. Some apparently still aren’t clear that Philomena Cunk is not a real TV presenter but a character played by British comedy actor Diane Morgan. When Morgan appeared on US chat show Late Night With Seth Meyers earlier this year,...

If the Fast and Furious series has taught us anything, it’s that there is nothing more important than family. Not really. It has demonstrated that there is nothing cooler than a movie with fast cars. The rev of the engine, the sound of it tearing down a stretch of asphalt, and the shot of the cool car flying past the camera. That is what the series has taught us. With the recent release of Fast X, we see that there is still a lot of life left in movies about the need for speed. What are some of the best car movies to get your engine revving?
Christine (1983)
Okay, so maybe this one isn’t so much about fast cars as it is about falling in love with your car. Not as much as Titane, but the love story is still there. Arnie finds himself obsessed...

When supervising locations manager Andrew Buckley was looking for the right location to shoot Matthew Vaughn’s third instalment of the Kingsman franchise The King’s Man, Turin sprung to mind. They were coming to the end of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, where they were shooting in Italy’s Aosta mountains in a place called Courmayeur.
“We were trying to tie in a location so, based on the geography of where that was, I started looking what was nearby and I saw Turin and noticed it had these amazing Baroque palaces and infrastructures, not just in Turin but in the whole Piedmont area,” says Buckley. “Turin was just this hidden gem. Although people knew about it, no one seemed to really know how versatile the city was.”

Luigi Comenicini’s The Sunday Woman makes for an intriguing blend of police procedural and comedy of manners. It isn’t really a giallo, despite an investigation into a bizarre murder that fuels further misdeeds. As a satire of Turin’s upper classes, it isn’t nearly as trenchant, let alone grim, as other examples of commedia all’italiana like Dino Risi’s Il Sorpasso or Pietro Germi’s Seduced and Abandoned, though it does share their preoccupation with character types that border on the grotesque. Taken on its own terms, the film is absorbing, frequently amusing, and exceedingly well directed by Comencini, who keeps things moving with admirably brisk efficiency.
