A new face is about to pop up in Manhattan, Kansas: Olafur Darri Ólafsson is joining the Season 3 cast of Somebody Somewhere on HBO.
Ólafsson will recur as Iceland, the new renter of Sam’s (Bridget Everett) family farm. Production on the seven-episode season recently wrapped in Chicagoland.

The agency will rep him as an actor, writer and director, and will also rep The Imaginarium, the London-based performance capture studio for Serkis formed with producer Jonathan Cavendish. Serkis has developed a most interesting career since he came on the scene and played Gollum in The Lord of the Ring film series. After re-teaming with Peter Jackson to play the title character in King Kong, Serkis then brought the ape Caesar to life in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Katy Mixon, John Hawkes and Andrew Daly have been tapped to co-star opposite co-creator Danny McBride in HBO's comedy pilot East Bound and Down.
The project, from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Prods., centers on Kenny Powers (McBride), a burned-out former professional baseball pitcher who returns to his small Southern hometown, where the only job he can find is as a substitute gym teacher.
Mixon (Blind Dating) will play Kenny's high school girlfriend, now a teacher at the school and engaged to the principal (Daly). Hawkes (HBO's Deadwood) will play Kenny's brother.
East Bound was written by Jody Hill, Ben Best and McBride.
Hill will direct the pilot, which Ferrell, McKay and Chris Henchy are executive producing.
Mixon is repped by Endeavor and manager Larry Taube of Principal Entertainment.
