Keren was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel and raised in Montreal, Canada. Her
mother is from France and her father from Morocco. She started dancing
at the age of 5 and won several trophies as a gymnast when she was 12
and 13. She began dancing in musical theater in Montreal, and received
her Bachelors Degree from New York University as a Theater Major. She
studied at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York and with
Ellen Burstyn then mediator of The Actor's Studio.
She is of Moroccan, French, Russian, Polish descendants and speaks
fluent French and Italian. She has lived in Montreal, New York, Los
Angeles, Paris and Italy.
Franco Zefferelli, Martin Scorcese and John Sayles (with whom she
shares a birthday) are her favorite directors.
In high school, she was treasurer of the student council, captain of
the cheerleading squad and homecoming Princess. She often performed in
school shows as a lead dancer.
As a teen, she was on the gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, and soccer
teams.
