Islamic Exorcist is a new horror from writer and director Faisal Saif, which has been selected to play at the Horror-on-Sea Film Festival on Friday 19th January. I got chance to ask Faisal a few questions about how much of the film is based on real events, what makes Islamic Exorcist different from the exorcism films we are used to watching and why the film and why certain scenes from the original script were not filmed.
What can we expect from Islamic Exorcist?
I never made this film with any expectations and I do not want viewers to keep any expectations before watching Islamic Exorcist. I made this film with one very clear intention: that I wanted to tell a story about one of my good friend, who was going through a trouble in his life which he couldn’t explain. I saw it, experienced it and I wanted the world to experience it.

Islamic Exorcist is a terrifying Indian Horror movie. How many times do we actually get a chance to watch a horror film that leaves us speechless and makes us go into a different thought altogether? A horror movie which comes from the background of Islam and soil of India, does exactly the same thing to you after it has it's final scene.
Ayesha (Kavita Radheshyam) belongs to Shia Muslim community who falls in love and marries a cop Sameer (Nirab Hossain) who is a Sunni Muslim despite her parental wishes. They adopt a girl child Anna who is 9 or 10 years old as Ayesha cannot become a mother anymore. Anna with her entrance, brings home some demonic power and satanic cult according to the couple. Sameer, one day shoots Anna to death and thinks the story ends here.

Cinema Epoch has acquired the distribution rights of Indian international Horror film Islamic Exorcist and will release this year on Direct to Video and VOD. The film is written and directed by controversial Indian film maker Faisal Saif and is in English language.
Islamic Exorcist stars Kavita Radheshyam who is labeled as India's Kim Kardashian along with Bangladesh actor Nirab Hossain and Pakistan actor Meera. Phew! Three different actors from three different countries in an Islamic horror film? I am certainly looking forward to this one!
The poster and the trailer of the movie is very appealing and scary at the same time. The film is definitely arriving at the unprecedented level of Xenophobia and it is likely to expose the issues in Islam. The maker also received death threats during filming from his community.

Rising actress Avantika Kapoor has lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police after receiving a series of threats on her mobile demanding that she withdraw from her latest movie. "A non-cognisable case has been lodged against an unidentified person for threatening her with dire consequences if she continues to work in Mahi Mahi, the shooting of which is now under way," Apc Dilip Suryavanshi said. "She was told to withdraw from the movie in which she is playing the lead role."
Avantika had been a little doubtful about taking the film in the first place. ,"When Faisal Saif offered me a lead role in this film I was very happy and excited but when he narrated me the story all my excitement evaporated,” she says, “This not a routine kind of a boy meets girl type story. In fact it is the story of a love between a Shia boy and a Sunni girl.

Actor-model Shawar Ali is waiting for back-to-back releases this year. He will be soon seen in the film The Man as a bad man.
“I am playing a villain who is based in Russia. The character actually runs his father’s business, who is a politician in India,” he divulges about his role in the film. He is also awaiting the release of his film, The Unexpected Shock, by Faisal Saif. “The film is about three people, and I am playing Meera’s boyfriend in the film. Not much can be divulged about the film, as it is suspense thriller,” he reluctantly talks about the film.

Top Lollywood (that's Pakistani cinema for you) actress Meera yesterday filed a charge of attempted murder with the Defence-a police in Lahore against her purported husband Attique Rehman. At the same time, the presiding judge ordered the release of three of Meera's bodyguards who had been detained. Meera, who has now relocated to Mumbai, has said, "I love India and aim to completely concentrate on Bollywood now. Inshaallah, I want to get married in Bollywood and have children. I want my children to act in Bollywood."
In a plot that would make a good Bollywood movie, Rehman claims to already be Meera's husband and that she had his child aborted when she went to work in Bollywood. He also claims that he has spent over Rs 60 million on her and that when he returned from a business trip, valuables were missing from his house. Further, he claims she has threatened his life.
