It was another awkward Thanksgiving on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 8, with Alex and James fighting over who got to tell their secret first.
Gather around the table and join TV Fanatics Kathleen Wiedel, Steve Ford, Christine Orlando, Jim Garner, and Yana Grebenyuk as they discuss J'onn's dismissed story line, the new Malex relationship, and those mysterious aliens.
Did you expect Maggie to change her mind so soon?
Kathleen: I did not expect her to change her mind nearly that quickly, to the point where it made me actually scratch my head a bit. I know that near-death experiences can make people reevaluate their life priorities, but this came across as a bit... abrupt.
Steve: It was a bit sudden and was actually thrown off by it. At least Alex won't be down in the dumps anymore, but I'll miss her drunken toasts.
Christine: I didn’t expect it this soon, but...

As previously scooped by Bleeding Cool, The CW has now confirmed that Chris Woods is playing Mon-El, a longstanding DC Comics superhero with close ties to the Legion of Super-Heroes. Supergirl officially describes their version of the characters as having powers similar to that of Kara Zor-el, he just happens to hail from the planet Daxam and not Krypton. A Legion of Super-Heroes Flight Ring appeared during The Flash's season 1 finale peek at the Speed Force and in an episode of Supergirl last season. Traditionally depicted as the leader of the future superhero group, does Mon-El's appearance in Supergirl mean that the Legion isn't too far behind? ...

The Vampire Diaries is in the home stretch now, with tonight’s episode being only three away from the end of the season and a major turning point for the series as a whole. Unfortunately, it’s not anything that’s happened already as much as what fans know is coming that has viewers at the edge of their seats. With Tvd losing its female lead and another series regular along with her, it’s a guessing game as to how these beloved characters will be written off – to the point that it’s overshadowing what little momentum the current storyline actually has left.
For the better part of six seasons, actors have come and gone from the show, including the Originals, who went on to become the focus of a Tvd spinoff series. Some of the characters have left in dramatically explicit ways – killed off on screen, often graphically...

It’s not every day that the most consistent character on your favorite show loses her grasp on reality, but that’s exactly what fans were reunited with when The Vampire Diaries returned tonight after a month-long hiatus. Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola), even as a vampire without her humanity was managing to fair exceptionally well considering the circumstances. At least, better than any of her friends, that’s for sure. That is, until Stefan (Paul Wesley) crossed the metaphorical line in the sand that she had drawn and joined her on the darker side.
Since Stefan is Caroline’s trigger, it makes sense that the writers would choose to prolong her current state by establishing a clear cut roadblock in her friends’ path to restoring her humanity. The easiest way to create that diversion was to take Stefan out of the equation. Except the writers didn’t just want to simply delay the inevitable.

For seasons, yes, plural, the writers of The Vampire Diaries relied heavily on the idea of the mysterious ‘other side.’ They used it as a stomping ground for characters who had come and gone, a way to bridge the gap between the living and dead. It was just as easy to bring someone back to “life” when the story needed a little help, as it was to temporarily kill someone off. With the collapse of the other side in the season five finale, it seemed like the potential to catch up with supernaturals from the past via anything but flashbacks was gone – but it turned out that wasn’t entirely the case.
The writers are still sticking to their guns and keeping those sucked into oblivion with the annihilation of their former supernatural purgatory firmly tucked away, but they have come up with a creative alternative. Although fan favorites that...

Even though The Vampire Diaries slowed things way down tonight, there was still that sense of urgency and pending doom that makes the show so enjoyable to watch season after season. With tragedy looming around every corner- past, present, and future – the characters took a much needed time out to celebrate the birthday of their temporarily departed friend, Bonnie (Kat Graham).
As Mystic Falls’ resident supernaturals decorated the Salvatore Manor and baked the perfect cake, Bonnie wasn’t exactly sharing in the celebratory mood while still stuck by her lonesome in a perpetual 1994 prison. But, that didn’t stop the writers from turning “The Day I Tried to Live” into somewhat of a public service announcement on the power of positive thinking.
My biggest apprehension about the direction that the writers are taking The Vampire Diaries in is that they’re setting us up to fall for Kai (Chris Woods) in a very Klaus-like way.

Let’s be honest, Super Mario Bros: The Movie is not a great movie. It’s not even a great video game adaptation. As a movie-loving teen the film was high on my must-see radar, so imagine my disappointment when I eventually saw the film on VHS… However since then I’ve come to appreciate the film for the bizarre Sf-tinged adventure movie that it is, rather than an adaptation of my all-time favourite video game franchise.
A critical and commercial failure on it’s original 1993 release, Super Mario Bros: The Movie has, in the intervening years, become something of a cult classic. So much so that the out-of-print DVD...

Warning: The following contains spoilers from Thursday’s season premiere of The Vampire Diaries.
The Vampire Diaries returned for Season 6 on Thursday night, but not all of its players were back to their old selves.
Elena, for one, was suppressing her grief by taking witchy drugs to “see” Damon and feeding on humans on the outskirts of Mystic Falls — not that it was helping. To truly make the pain go away, she asked Alaric for a drastic favor.
Then there’s Stefan, who was off living a new life with a new girl, while Damon and Bonnie were bonding… somewhere.

With Transfer Deadline Day just around the corner, there’s a good chance the fact that your club could be signing a star player, or indeed lose your prize asset – especially if you’re Newcastle United – is probably playing quite persistently on your mind at the minute. It can be a worrying time, but then equally, it can also be invigorating to see new players linked to your club.
The culture of the Transfer Deadline Day has now surpassed most other football phenomena. The attention media outlets can pick up off the back of releasing news first (or flat out making up rumours) means they will whip up a frenzy around the date, twice a year, and watch the fan fall-out with glee.
There’s a good chance that come Deadline time, you’ll be sitting in front of Sky Sports News, beers and takeaway close by,...

A new era is dawning on Manchester United this summer.
For the first time in over quarter of a century, a new manager is at the helm following the retirement of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
And his successor, David Moyes, has wasted no time in stamping his own unique mark on the club, by bringing in a number of his old backroom staff at Everton and replacing those loyal to Ferguson.
No.2 Mike Phelan and goalkeeping coach Eric Steele have been replaced by Steve Round and Chris Woods, respectively, while chief executive David Gill has gone with Ed Woodward being named as his successor.
Moyes has demonstrated that he is not afraid to wield the axe if he feels changes are neccessary, just as Ferguson did.
If the famous, maybe infamous Scot thought your time was up at the club, then your time was up at the club.
And...

New Manchester United manager David Moyes has wasted no time in stamping his authority on the Premier League champions following his appointment as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement.
After a summer of unprecedented upheaval at the Theatre of Dreams, which has seen the famous club name a new manager for the first time in over quarter of a century, the 50-year-old former Everton boss has already made the club his own.
Steve Round, Moyes’ former assistant manager at Goodison Park, has been named as the successor to Mike Phelan, while Everton’s goalkeeping coach Chris Woods has replaced Eric Steele.
Added to that, former Toffee’s skipper Phil Neville has followed Moyes on the journey from Merseyside to Manchester as a team coach.
Clearly, Moyes has his own ideas and his own way of going about matters.

Chris Woods, father of Navy Seal Tyrone Woods who was slain on September 11 in the attack on an American consulate in Benghazi, joined Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly on Friday where he gave a heartbreaking interview about the death of his son. While Woods repeatedly said that he harbors no ill-will towards the members of President Barack Obama's administration, he was clear that he views the administration’s excuses as untruths.
