The Entertainment Society of Goa (Esg) is organizing a workshop on Editing and Post production on April 18 and 19, 2011. The workshop will be held from 11.00 a.m. till 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. till 4.00 p.m. at Maquinez Palace Auditorium in Panaji.
The trainers for the workshop are Umesh Gupta, Senior Professor, Editing Department at Whistling Woods International and Neil Sadwelkar, who is a film editor and Consultant on Post Production for Pixion.
The Workshop will feature different types of editing techniques on Digital vis-a-vis Film, and the different steps involved in the post production viz. Colour Correction, Digital Intermediate and other technologies.

Neil Sadwelkar, a Post-production technology and Digital Intermediate (Di) veteran, who has contributed to the Bollywood industry with his expertise in film Di & editing and six years of long stint with post-production major Pixion, has now moved on to Prime Focus as the Head - Technical Operations. Prime Focus' Equipment Rental Division (Eqr) has added 'Alexa', the latest state-of-the-art camera from Arri to its existing fleet of cameras. The Arri Alexa, a successor to the D21 digital camera, is geared up to meet the emerging trend of 'shoot-edit-project'. It saves the worries of having to wait for the dailies to see the result of the shoot, as one can see the rushes at the exact quality required and provides the option of color correction on location itself. "One of the key attributes of the Arri Alexa is that a dump of the files can directly be taken on the Baselight, ready for editing and grading. This saves a lot of time and money as it eliminates the need for telecine", says Niraj Sanghai - Business Head, Eqr, Prime Focus. With the Arri Alexa, the Lut of any shot can be generated very quickly, saving further time on color correction.
