Thirty years after the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson — and just weeks after her ex-husband O.J. Simpson died — a new two-part documentary will put the focus on her life before her tragic death.
“I think it’s important that people get to know my sister,” one of Brown’s three sisters — all of whom are interviewed for the documentary — said in the trailer for Lifetime’s The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson. Another sister added, “It’s been 30 years. Maybe it’s time to rekindle the flame of Nicole.

People reports that Simpson “died from metastatic prostate cancer.”
“I was pretty certain it was prostate cancer; ultimately, that was the cause,” lawyer Malcolm Lavergne said. “He thought it had beaten it. I thought this was done, but you know how cancers go. They come back, and they come back with a vengeance.”
O.J. began his career as a professional NFL player. He was later accused of the double murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. O.J. was tried over the murders, pleaded not guilty, and was acquitted in 1995.

O.J. Simpson, one of the most controversial figures in America’s history, died on April 10, 2024 of cancer. A former superstar, “The Juice,” as he was known, was an NFL star, as well as a perspective actor who ultimately became one of America’s most notorious public figures after the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in 1994. And while Simpson was acquitted in a criminal trial, he was later found liable for the murders in a civil suit. Simpson never recovered and later ended up in jail for armed robbery and kidnapping. He spent his last years in freedom but was ridden with diseases and disgraced as a public figure.
And while no one really doubts that Simpson did it, despite the acquittal, there seems to be a plan to shoot a movie that claims that Simpson didn’t actually do it. Titled The Juice, originally titled Nicole and O.

Loki star Owen Wilson is still not letting O. J. Simpson off the hook for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Simpson was acquitted in the infamous trial that still has many people divided on the final non-guilty verdict. Wilson refused to star in the upcoming film, titled The Juice, which portrays the NFL star as innocent of the murder. The Wedding Crashers star was offered a boatload of money for the role.

One of America's strangest celebrity sagas came to an abrupt, anticlimactic close when O.J. Simpson died at the age of 76 on April 10, 2024. The Heisman Trophy-winning running back from the University of Southern California became a professional football phenomenon during his 11-season tenure with the Buffalo Bills. He was blindingly handsome and charismatic, as comfortable in front of a camera as he was breaking tackles on the gridiron. Unlike Jim Brown, Simpson chose to keep playing football when he embarked on his acting career; and though Simpson was typically cast in supporting roles, they were often high-profile productions (namely the Best Picture-nominated "The Towering Inferno" and the Emmy-winning miniseries "Roots").
When Simpson retired, he continued to act while staying close to football as an on-field reporter for NBC. You never knew where The Juice was going to turn up, but you were never unhappy to see him. This was especially true...

Former NFL star Oj Simpson died at the age of 76 on April 10 following a battle with prostate cancer. The controversial figure, who was tried and acquitted in 1994 for the murder of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman, signed his will on January 24.
Simpson’s lawyer, Malcolm Lavergne, was appointed executor of his estate. Simpson’s son, Justin Simpson, is its successor. The estate was placed in The Orenthal Simpson Revocable Living Trust.
Lavergne told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the Goldman family will not receive any payment from Simpson’s estate – and he will do “everything” to ensure that.
“It is my hope that the Goldmans get zero, nothing,” he added. “Them specifically. And I will do everything in my capacity as the executor or personal representative to try and ensure that they get nothing.”

After the death of former NFL star and actor O.J. Simpson from prostate cancer this week, an interview with former President Donald Trump and Howard Stern from July 2008 has resurfaced.
In 2008, Simpson had long been known for his infamous trial for the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994. Simpson was acquitted of the murders despite physical evidence linking him to the scene.
By the time Stern interviewed Trump, Simpson had also been arrested for robbery and kidnapping and later sentenced to nine years in prison.
“NBC went totally crazy when I wanted to put Oj on The Apprentice,” Trump told Stern.
When Stern asked why he wanted Simpson, Trump responded, “Well, you know, in your business, there’s a thing called ratings. I know this: If I put Oj on, I get huge ratings.”
When Stern asked if Trump spoke to Simpson about the idea, Trump’s answer was unclear.

O.J. Simpson’s longtime attorney, who was named executor of the former NFL star’s will ahead of his death last week, has said he will ensure that any claim the parents of Ron Goldman make to retrieve the millions they were awarded in a 1998 civil judgment against the accused killer will be accepted by the estate.
Attorney Malcolm Lavergne, who represented Simpson from 2009 until the former running back’s death on April 10 after a battle with prostate cancer, said that he wants to walk back statements made last week while speaking by phone with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday afternoon. Lavergne had previously told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he’d fight to prevent a payout of the $33.5 million judgment awarded to the families of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman; he said he specifically wanted Fred Goldman to receive “zero — nothing” of Simpson’s estate.

Malcolm Lavergne, a longtime lawyer for O.J. Simpson and the executor of his estate, clarified his stance on Sunday about whether the Goldman family would receive money from the late former football player’s estate.
On Friday, Lavergne had said that the family of Ron Goldman — Simpson was acquitted of the murder of Goldman and Simpson’s second wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, in 1995 — should “get zero, nothing,” from the estate, he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Goldman’s family are still owed more than $100 million (including interest) from Simpson following a wrongful death judgment.

Following the death of Oj Simpson this week, veteran TV presenter and comedienne Ruby Wax has written about the time she spent interviewing the footballing legend turned pariah for her BBC chat show.
Back in 1998, Wax travelled to Los Angeles where she spent 17 hours with Simpson. Writing in The Times of London this weekend, she says the moment he re-enacted his alleged killings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman – for which he went through “the trial of the century” before being acquitted in 1995 – wasn’t even the weirdest part of the day.
Wax writes:
“After a manic 17 hours’ filming, I asked him for the final time whether he was involved in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. I was sure we could get him to confess. But he simply turned to the camera, said “no” and gave a rueful smile.

On Thursday, former NFL player and actor Oj Simpson died from cancer. Simpson made headlines in 1994 for the nine-month-long trial in which Simpson was acquitted of murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in the so-called “trial of the century” after physical evidence pointed to Simpson’s guilt.
Years later, in 2007, Simpson was arrested on a robbery and kidnapping charge against a memorabilia dealer in Las Vegas. Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison but was released on parole in 2017, then officially released in 2021.
Simpson was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2023 and underwent chemotherapy treatment. In 2024, days before Simpson’s passing, his children, whom he shared with Brown, were reportedly made to sign non-disclosure agreements along with other members of his family. No deathbed confession from Simpson was reported by anyone who saw him in his last days.
News of Simpson’s death received international coverage.

The executor named in O.J. Simpson’s will has pledged to make sure that the family of Ron Goldman — who were still owed over $100 million from Simpson following a wrongful death judgment — receives “zero, nothing” from Simpson’s estate.
Malcolm Lavergne, Simpson’s lawyer, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he was “flummoxed” that the football star turned accused murderer named him his “personal representative or the executor” in a will drawn up earlier this year amid Simpson’s cancer battle, but said he would take the job as executor “very seriously.

As a one-time football great, O.J. Simpson’s initial forays in late-night TV were generally as a jovial guest, and even included a gig as host of Saturday Night Live on February 25, 1978 . But all of that changed in the summer of 1994, when Simpson became the prime suspect in the double-murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.
Over the next year and a half, late-night hosts made a meal out of Simpson’s subsequent arrest and what was dubbed the “Trial of the Century,” which ended with the fallen athlete’s acquittal—a decision that all the “Dancing Itos” Jay Leno could have assembled would likely never have predicted.
Despite his acquittal, and the public’s obsession with all things O.J., no self-respecting late-night host seemed very eager to have the Juice come on and share his part of the story.

The death of O.J. Simpson at 76 leaves the fate of his estate — whatever of that exists — in question.
The football great turned acquitted murderer said in recent years that he subsisted entirely off of his NFL and private pensions. Many of his most valuable possessions were seized following a 1997 civil trial that awarded $33.5 million to the families of Ron Goldman and Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, both brutally murdered outside her Brentwood apartment on June 12, 1994. The weapon, a knife, was never found.
“It increases by 10 percent every year,” Fred Goldman, Ron’s father, told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022 of the civil trial amount awarded to the Goldmans. “It’s a ridiculous number, none of which has ever appeared.
[Simpson] never paid one single penny. Anything that we were able to take was through our own efforts of taking things away from him.”

It’s a bit of an irony that just as NBC’s “Must-See TV” juggernaut took off in 1994, execs there found themselves right in the middle of a completely different kind of televised spectacle: The O.J. Simpson arrest, trial and eventual acquittal.
Not only was then-nbc West Coast president Don Ohlmeyer one of Simpson’s best friends, but just a month before the killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman — followed by Simpson’s white Ford Bronco flight from justice and arrest — NBC had passed on a pilot starring the ex-football-star.
“It was just a strange time to be there because of Don’s loyalty to O.J.,” recalled Preston Beckman, who was NBC’s head of scheduling at the time, and one of Ohlmeyer’s and NBC Entertainment president Warren Littlefield’s key lieutenants. Ohlmeyer would occasionally bring up Simpson during the network’s afternoon meetings in their Burbank offices,...

O.J. Simpson paid the family of Ron Goldman just a small fraction of the $33.5 million wrongful death judgment he owed them at the time of his death, an attorney for the Goldman family revealed Friday.
In 1997, after Simpson was acquitted in the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Goldman, a jury in a civil trial found him responsible for their deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million, which — with interest over the past 27 years — has ballooned to over $100 million.
Of that judgment, Simpson paid only $133,000, Goldman family attorney David Cook told People.

The family of the late Ronald Goldman, whom O.J. Simpson was accused of murdering along with ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson outside of her Brentwood home, is calling the death of the man they believe killed Ron, “a mixed bag of complicated emotions.”
Simpson died Wednesday after a battle with cancer, his family said.
And the death of the man they call “Ron’s killer,” Ron’s sister, Kim, and father, Fred, say in a statement posted to social media, means “the hope for true accountability has ended.”
But they insist they will carry on with their efforts to seek justice for victims and survivors.
“We will continue to advocate for the rights of all victims and survivors, ensuring our voices are heard both within and beyond the courtroom,” the statement reads. “And despite [Simpson’s] death, the mission continues; there’s always more to be done. Thank you for keeping our family,...

In the early 1990s, two events shook America to its very core: the Rodney King incident and the trial of O.J. Simpson. Both cases provoked intense outrage, talked about justice and race, and ultimately had a significant impact on the American legal system.
Simpson’s arrest and murder trial in Los Angeles still bring back vivid memories, nearly thirty years later. Blood stained his glove, minute-by-minute coverage aired on national television, and he was the target of a police chase in a white 1993 Ford Bronco SUV.
In other words, his ‘trial of the century’ will also endure in the memories of numerous Americans since it exposed the significant disparities between Black and White Americans. The 76-year-old football player-actor passed away on April 10.

Although all the parties have repeatedly denied the rumors, several hints suggest that this can be a true possibility.

It began on June 17, 1994, and it happened, appropriately, in prime time for many viewers. A warrant was out for O.J. Murder Tarnishes O.J. Simpson’s Career

Simpson, was a great football player, his accomplishments were tarnished after a long trial alleging the double murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. Undeniably, this made him a controversial figure in the ‘90s. Additionally, the case was a highly visible trial. Although O.J. was accused and then charged, he was ultimately acquitted of murdering Brown and Goldman in 1995.

On an otherwise uneventful Friday evening, about 95 million people watched a white Ford Bronco slowly driving down the 5 freeway.
The driver of the car, of course, was O.J. Simpson, the NFL star turned actor and TV broadcaster, and that day he officially was named as a murder suspect in the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
America was glued to their TV sets, with the broadcast networks breaking into their regular programing, and the lone cable news channel CNN having its star host Larry King guide viewers through the action (watch it here).
The chase and subsequent trial (“The Trial of the Century,” as declared by multiple news outlets), with its live cameras in the courtroom, became gripping must-see TV. The not-guilty verdict — handed down at 10 a.m. on a weekday — was watched live by more than 150 million people (on day one of the 1991 Gulf War,...

O.J. Simpson died April 10. But the media age ushered in by his presence, his saga and his white Bronco, remains very much with us.
An all-time great NFL running back-turned-actor, Simpson was a minor celebrity and part of a circle of fame-adjacent Los Angeles hangers-on in the 1990s. The killing of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, on June 12, 1994, converted Simpson instantly into an object of national obsession; five days later, Simpson failed to turn himself in after the Los Angeles Police Department ordered him to surrender on charges of first-degree murder, and engaged the LAPD in a low-speed car chase.
The details of this have been chewed over, including by the recent double dose of O.J. stories — FX’s series “The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story” and Ezra Edelman’s documentary “O.J.: Made in America,” both released in 2016 — and yet they still boggle the mind.

The family of O.J. Simpson has shared the news that he died of cancer. He was 76.
A statement posted on Simpson’s X account read: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Simpson nicknamed “The Juice” was a former NFL star who got into broadcasting and acting following his football career. But what most people remember is that he stood trial for the brutal 1994 slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and restaurant waiter, Ron Goldman.
While Simpson was acquitted in the double murder trial, he was found responsible for the deaths in a civil lawsuit and ordered to pay more than $30 million to the Goldman family. Some are wondering now if he ever paid any of that money.
