Grimmfest 2014 takes place in Manchester, England, from the 2nd-5th October, and the opening night lineup has been announced. It includes two bloody fantastic features, an exclusive short film premiere, and some great special guests.
This year’s Grimmfest Opening Night will be headlined by the English Premiere of Brian O’Malley’s Scottish/Irish horror Let Us Prey starring Liam Cunningham ("Game of Thrones") and Pollyanna McIntosh (The Woman).
Synopsis:
We join Rachel (McIntosh), a rookie cop, as she is about to begin her first nightshift in a neglected police station in a Scottish backwater town... the kind of place where the tide has gone out and stranded a motley bunch of the aimless, the forgotten, the bitter-and-twisted who all think that, really, they deserve to be somewhere else. They all think they’re there by accident and that, with a little luck, life is going to get better.

Stars: Noel Clarke, Ian Somerhalder, Luke Hemsworth, Brian Cox, Alexis Knapp, Niall Greig Fulton, Michael Bisping, Ali Cook, Art Parkinson, Reuben Dabrow, Victoria Broom | Written by Simon Lewis | Directed by Noel Clarke
Review by Andrew McArthur
Noel Clarke‘s third directorial feature sees him in front of the cameras once again in science-fiction action piece, The Anomaly.
Set in the future, a former-soldier Ryan (Clarke) wakes up holding a young boy captive, with no memory of how he got there. After nine minutes forty-seven seconds, he blacks out waking up several days later in a new location with a mysterious figure (Ian Somerhalder), until blacking out again. In these brief moments of consciousness it is up to Ryan to piece together his surroundings, until he gradually discovers a wider conspiracy featuring bio-technology and mind control.
The Anomaly is reminiscent of these late eighties/early nineties sci-fi actioners like Timecop and Demolition Man.

The latest comic horror venture from 'Freak Out' creators Christian James ('Kill Keith') and Dan Palmer ('Evil Aliens') is new British zombie flick 'Stalled'. The project will be hitting the Us courtesy of Uncork'd Entertainment and Odin's Eye this coming October where it'll be receiving a limited theatrical run. Which will in turn follow up with a home release during November. Exact dates are still to be nailed down but in the meantime the movie has managed to piggy-back onto another zombie movie that is enjoying success at the box office currently. The new teaser poster manages to parody and take a literal massive sh#t on the artwork of 'World War Z'. Antonia Bernath ('St Trinians', 'Lykke'), Dan Palmer, Tamaryn Payne ('Hollyoaks'), Mark Holden, Giles Alderson ('The Harsh Light of Day'), Victoria Broom, Mark Kelly and Victoria Eldon all star.

Good morning! A big thanks to Heather Hogan for taking care of the Brew this past week. I had so much to catch up on!
Bisexual actress Olivia Thirlby is the gorgeous face of Target's new collection from Prabal Gurung. Stunning!
Another day, another Real Housewife having bisexual experiences. Brandi Glanville writes about hers in a new "memoir":
On occasion I would hook up with girlfriends, so that my husband could watch. (Sometimes the girl had a boyfriend and husband, too, who also seemed to enjoy the show.) It was harmless and Eddie seemed to appreciate it, because without fail, it would lead to some pretty hot sex afterward.
Don't worry, though. She never had Sex with any of the women — just "made out with them and grabbed their asses." I will not be reading this.

Back in 2004 a new British comedy horror flick arrived out of nowhere and landed our desks. The parody-esque slasher feature was called 'Freak Out' and was a great little low-budget production which kept our team chuckling away. Now 8 years on Brit duo Christian James and Dan Palmer are back with their new comedy horror effort 'Stalled'. It's Christmas time zombies, with guaranteed toilet humour all the way and we have caught an early glimpse at the new bloody one-sheet from the project. James helms from a script penned by Dan Palmer who also stars as the suitably named maintenance man W.C. Antonia Bernath ('Lykke'), Tamaryn Payne ('Hollyoaks'), Mark Holden, Giles Alderson, Victoria Broom, Mark Kelly and Victoria Eldon all co-star. Check out the plot into and fresh new one-sheet below....

The exclusive pics from the UK vampire movie Dead Cert just keep coming; producer Jonathan Sothcott sent over some more, which you can check out below. He also gave us a few words and the first poster for another upcoming project: a remake of the 1972 cult chiller The Asphyx.
“We are just going into our fourth week of production on Dead Cert, and are now based in a studio in Essex,” Sothcott tells Fango. “Next week we start all the wirework for the mother of all vampire battles. Our gang of vamps looks amazing—Billy Murray as Dante has this amazing, dangerous stillness and so much dignity. Dave Legeno [the villain from The Cottage] is an absolute powerhouse, and Andy Tiernan is just hypnotic on screen.”
Dead Cert, which we last covered here, is being directed by Steven Lawson and also stars Craig Fairbrass and Steven Berkoff. “We have some incredibly gorgeous girls in this film too: Lisa McAllister,...
