I’m not the biggest fan of rap beef because, as Snoop Dogg told Latto, it’s often a product of ego intensified by corporate forces looking to maintain division. But Drake and...

In 1970s-80s Miami, Blanco's lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as "the Godmother."
This looks set to be a massive departure for Sofia Vergara, who was a lead on Modern Family before moving on to judge on America's Got Talent.

Apple TV+ has canceled its drama series Swagger after two seasons.
The series about a high school basketball star (played by Isaiah Hill) and his journey through the world of youth hoops is loosely inspired by the life of NBA star Kevin Durant, who’s an executive producer. The cancellation comes a few months after season two’s final episode streamed in August.
Series creator, showrunner and director Reggie Rock Bythewood shared the news of Swagger’s end on Instagram. “What an amazing adventure. Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets hold their first NBA championship banner ceremony before they get down to business vs. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the season opener Tuesday, October 25, on TNT. The second game of the doubleheader has Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns visiting Steph Curry, Chris Paul and the Golden State Warriors. ESPN’s NBA coverage opens Wednesday, October 26, with the Boston Celtics in New York to clash with the Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks dueling with the Spurs in San Antonio. If there’s one thing married couple Floyd Rance and Stephanie Tavares-Rance know how to do, it’s keep a secret. Last year, on the eve of the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, its founders were tight-lipped about their 20th anniversary opening-night presenters. “I just told my mother,” says Tavares-Rance of the fact that Barack and Michelle Obama were on hand to screen their Higher Ground and Netflix documentary Descendant.
This year, the Rances face the unexpected of another kind, with the SAG-AFTRA strike beginning weeks before the Aug. 4-12 fest, which is preventing actors from promoting their projects. Says Tavares-Rance, with equanimity: “Celebrity is awesome — people love to see their favorite actor or actress on the stage, but it really is about these filmmakers of color, specifically African American filmmakers, that we want to highlight.”

NBA superstar Kevin Durant was in the house for Frances Tiafoe 's opening match at the 2023 Citi Open in Washington.
Both of those athletes come from Washington, so they naturally linked up at the event following Tiafoe's win. The basketball player is currently away from the courts as it's the off-season, but he'll soon return to hoops to prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
Tiafoe's commitment to the sport is year-round, so there is very little time for vacations, especially with the US Open looming around the corner. The American started with a win over Aslan Karatsev and held a joint on-court interview with Kd after the match. Durant was glad that Tiafoe got the win and also spoke about his tennis game.

Spoiler Alert: This contains spoilers from “Swagger” Season 2, now streaming on AppleTV+.
As Reggie Rock Bythewood was gearing up for AppleTV+’s second season of “Swagger,” the filmmaker was thinking about how to elevate the series and take it to another level.
One film that came to mind was Sam Mendes’ “1917” and how cinematographer Roger Deakins had shot the film and presented it as if it were one continuous long shot.
The series follows a team of basketball players inspired by NBA star Kevin Durant and in the latest “maze,” as Bythewood calls it, the team down to six players, Jace (Isaiah R. Hill), Phil (Solomon Irama), Musa (Caleel Harris), Drew, Royale (Ozie Nzeribe), and Nick (Jason Rivera) head to Maryland’s Youth Facility, a detention center for young offenders for a game. “I thought about ‘1917’ and the entire film is shot as if it were one shot.

Stephen Curry: Underrated is a 2023 documentary film that tells the story of one of the most influential, dynamic, and unexpected players in basketball history. Directed by Peter Nicks, the film blends intimate cinéma vérité, archival footage, and on-camera interviews to document Curry’s rise from an undersized college player at a small town Division I college to a four-time NBA champion, building one of the most dominant sports dynasties in the world.
The film begins with Curry’s childhood in Akron, Ohio, where he was raised by his father, Dell, who was also a professional basketball player. Curry was a gifted athlete from a young age, but he was also undersized for his position. As a result, he was often overlooked by college recruiters. Kevin Durant may not have won an NBA title this season, but he’s still about to net a huge score. “Swagger,” which Durant serves as an executive producer on, is returning for its second season premiere on Apple TV+ on Thursday, June 22. The show is inspired by Durant’s experiences playing youth basketball, where players walk a fine line between arrogance and confidence, and families and coaches straddle opportunism and corruption. You can watch with a 7-Day Free Trial of Apple TV+.

While Call of Duty and its free-to-play battle royale spin-off Warzone have remained some of the most popular games on Twitch and other streaming platforms, a recent series of protests involving streamers Nickmercs, TimTheTatman, and others have raised questions about the future of Call of Duty streaming and some of that scene’s biggest names.
While this situation is ongoing, here is what you need to know about the recent calls to boycott Call of Duty over controversial streamer statements related to the LGBTQ community.
Why Streamers Are Boycotting Warzone and Call of Duty
On May 31, the Call of Duty team added special character bundles to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 which were based on two popular streamers: Nickmercs and TimTheTatman. While Call of Duty has historically featured character skins and other cosmetics based on real-life figures (such as NBA star Kevin Durant), the series typically does not feature content based on streamers.

The tragic thing about the Miami Heat making the 2023 NBA Finals is that Jimmy Butler will never be able to enjoy it. The Heat were a virus — a collection of veterans and second-rounders, slinking through the Eastern Conference playoff bracket, exploiting the weaknesses of every team they encountered and laying them in the dirt, one after another. Milwaukee, sporting the best record in the league, couldn’t manage with Giannis physically compromised on the court, so the Heat popped them in the mouth and strolled past them, curled up in a heap.
