When best friends Michael and Matty make a pact to lose their virginity before prom, a spanner is thrown in the works when Matty comes out as gay. Trying to work out their new situation, Michael makes it his life ambition to continue the pact no matter what. Together, they start on an adventure of calamity and hi-jinx as they try to find their place in the world, how their lives have changed because of it and who can they persuade to have sex with them before prom night is through.
Date and Switch definitely suffers from that classic ‘teenager romantic comedy’ syndrome where it is all about sex and, namely, having it before a certain time limit is up.

In anticipation of a series order, one of ABC‘s hottest pilots, the Adam F. Goldberg comedy, started making offers to writers last night, an indication of an imminent pickup. The project, from Sony Pictures Television and Happy Madison, has been building momentum since it moved from Fox, which it was originally set up last season, to ABC this past summer. The 1980s family comedy, inspired by Goldberg’s experience growing up, centers on an in-your-face mother and hot-tempered father who love their three eccentric kids so much, they can’t bear to see them grow up. Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, George Segal, Darien Provost and Troy Gentil star in the pilot, directed by Seth Gordon. After passing on several pilots yesterday, ABC is expected to begin handing out series orders today. Related: Primetime Pilot Panic: Rumor Mill...

Exclusive: One Life To Live alumna Melissa Fumero has landed the female lead opposite Andy Samberg in Fox’s untitled Mike Schur/Dan Goor comedy pilot. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing direct the single-camera ensemble project, which revolves around a diverse group of detectives in a precinct at the very edge of New York City. Fumero, repped by Innovative and Corner Booth Entertainment, will play Amy, an attractive, smart detective who grew up in the outskirts of NYC. Before becoming a cop, she was a middle-school teacher, which is her hidden super-power — compared to sixth-graders, real life criminals are a piece of cake. When it comes to dating, she doesn’t date cops, though not for lack of opportunities. In the pilot, Fumero also joins co-star Terry Crews. Young actor Darien Provost (Tooth Fairy) has been cast in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot How the Hell Am I Normal,...
