The Culture and Leisure minister of Guernsey wants a statue of Britain's Queen Elizabeth to be put up on the island. Deputy Mike O'Hara believes the significant changes being made to the surrounding area of St Peter Port harbour is the perfect opportunity for a public sculpture of the monarch to be erected, which he will address with other organisations to achieve. He said: 'It seems to me that would be a suitable position to have a statue of Queen Elizabeth II. She has to look out on to something proper.
