Match #1: Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic – Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams def. Edris Enofé & Malik Blade The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Trick Melo Gang is on the same page as Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes took down Edris Enofé and Malik Blade in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Trick and Melo came out hot, but the supreme athleticism of Blade and Enofé evened the playing field in a big way, highlighted by tandem splashes to the outside. Despite the incredible fight from Blade and Enofé, Trick Melo Gang took care of business and punched their ticket to the semifinals.

City National Bank has shuffled its top leadership team, recruiting banking veteran Howard Hammond as CEO while Kelly Coffey shifts to a new role as CEO of City National Entertainment.
The transition, effective Nov. 27, was prompted in part by City National’s desire to focus more deeply on its entertainment client base across TV, film, music, theater, touring and related sectors. Coffey, who is based in Beverly Hills, has served as City National CEO since 2019, having joined the company from JPMorgan’s private wealth management division.

“For me, banking has always been about clients — the people, businesses and nonprofit organizations we support,” Coffey said. “The entertainment industry is incredibly dynamic, and City National’s role in supporting this community is more important than ever as we remain at the forefront of industry developments and hone our services to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Writer/director David Ferino’s feature directorial debut, “Wardcliffe,” starring Joel McKinnon Miller and Shane Coffey.
Inspired by real events, Ferino’s script takes place over the course of a single day as Dennis (Miller) and his son Ronnie (Coffey) quarantine together during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. Decades of tension escalate to a boiling point when the two find themselves confined inside. And as the outside world is seized by confusion and terror, the gulf between the men becomes ever more pronounced, and ever more destructive.
“Wardcliffe” is produced and independently financed by Roger M. Mayer through his production company, Brooklyn Reptyle.
“When I first heard of this news event in 2020, I knew it had the right criteria for a first feature. The film could be made on a small production scale, but with big emotional weight. It’s a tragedy that encapsulates the heightened anxiety we collectively shared throughout the pandemic,...

Match #1: Butch & Tyler Bate def. Gallus The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Big Strong Boi and The Brawling Brute got some payback on Gallus, and were even joined by a longtime ally. The Gallus boys used the numbers game to their advantage as Wolfgang and Mark Coffey dominated the in-ring action while Joe Coffey ran interference on the outside. British Strongstyle proved to be too much as their tandem offense planted Coffey and gave them the win, only for Gallus to attack them after the match. San Francisco, June 1 (Ians) Meta has threatened to pull news from Facebook and Instagram if California’s Journalism Preservation Act passes through.
Once the bill is cleared, big tech companies will need to pay a “journalism usage fee” whenever they distribute local news content on their respective platforms.
“If the Journalism Preservation Act passes, we will be forced to remove news from Facebook and Instagram rather than pay into a slush fund that primarily benefits big, out-of-state media companies under the guise of aiding California publishers,” Meta said in a statement.
According to Mark Zuckerberg-run company, the bill fails to recognise that publishers and broadcasters put their content “on our platform themselves and that substantial consolidation in California’s local news industry came over 15 years ago, well before Facebook was widely used”.
Meta further said that it is disappointing that California lawmakers appear to be prioritising the best interests...

In a savvy move, Stratton targeted that shoulder throughout the match, using it to neutralize Dolin every single time she gained some momentum. With Coffey's new graphic novel now being crowdfunded by Iron Circus Comics, we have an exclusive excerpt from Wine Ghost Goes to Hell to share with Daily Dead readers!

What more can be said about the great Michael Biehn? The man has been a part of most film fans’ lives for decades now and he seems to have no stopping in mind with a few films coming up soon. With one of these resumes that would make any actor jealous, there are a lot more Michael Biehn movies that are worth watching besides The Terminator and Aliens. He has shared screentime with everyone from Sigourney Weaver to Arnold Schwarzenegger to Kurt Russell to, well, you get the idea. Here are five of our favorite Michael Biehn films:

Just when it seemed Fallon Henley & Kiana James would reclaim their Nxt Women’s Tag Team Titles, the backstage drama between them and Brooks Jensen reared its ugly head and cost them the gold. Early struggles by Henley & James led to mid-match momentum as the former champions looked poised to win back their titles, but Jensen appeared and tried to get Henley to hit Dawn with James’s purse, but Henley refused. Jensen was ejected from ringside for his actions and in a momentum of frustration he shoved his tag team partner, Josh Briggs. Dawn would capitalize on the chaos...

Match #1: Nxt Tag Team Championship Match – Gallus def. Pretty Deadly The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Gallus boys remained on top as Mark Coffey & Wolfgang dispatched their long time rivals Pretty Deadly in an incredible matchup. The champions were rolling early, but the clever tricks like distracting the referee by Elton Prince & Kit Wilson gave the Yes Boys some life. As the action continued, Pretty Deadly neutralized Wolfgang by sending him into the announce table and the chaos allowed Wilson to nail Coffey with the title, but he managed to kick out. Pretty Deadly never recovered from that as Wolfgang reappeared, allowing them to isolate Wilson and retain their championships.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Nxt Women’s Championship Qualifying Match – Zoey Stark def.

Match #1: Ilja Dragunov def. Trick Williams The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Mad Dragon returned to the ring in grand fashion as he took it right to one of the most athletic Superstars in Nxt, Trick Williams. Williams came out incredibly confident landing a few early strikes, but Dragunov responded in kind with his aggressive style. The two Superstars continued to thrash each other with clubbing blows, but a top rope attempt from Dragunov went awry as Williams knocked him to the outside. Jd McDonagh appeared at ringside and joined the commentary team, seemingly trying to intimidate The Mad Dragon, but it was to no avail as Dragunov rallied, set a dazed Williams up in the corner, and nailed Torpedo Moscow to secure the win.

There was a moment in November when Channel 4’s senior executives breathed a sigh of relief.
Seated at the top table of Channel 4’s 40th birthday party, Chief Executive Alex Mahon was flanked by her friend Elisabeth Murdoch and doyens of UK broadcasting, including BBC Director-General Tim Davie and Carolyn McCall, ITV’s Chief Executive. They were raising a glass to a British success story in a rare public display of unity.
On the same table was Thérèse Coffey, a senior government minister who had survived three prime ministers in the space of little more than three months. Her presence at the V&a Museum event bemused others, who believed the government only had hostile intentions for Channel 4 after sanctioning a sale of the broadcaster against its wishes.
Things soon got weirder. Coffey turned to Mahon and asked if she could raise a glass to Channel 4. She then proceeded...

Paranormal investigators Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and psychic medium Chip Coffey are back for another season of “Kindred Spirits,” and this one starts them off on a case that really shakes them up when they hear the disembodied voice of a whimpering baby.
The trio head to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, where they investigate a facility that once housed the poorest of the poor that had a dreadful rumored history of torture that included starvation and beatings – and a “room” in the basement with shackles all but proves that claim. The building is now a cultural center, but intense paranormal activity terrifies employees and guests.
As they sit calmly in a hallway of the building, they ask for the spirit of William Cage, the worker who was said to have been the worst of the worst, to come forward. Instead, what they very clearly hear is the sound of a child crying.

As Kindred Spirits enters its seventh season, stars Amy Bruni, Adam Berry, and Chip Coffey are nowhere close to giving up the ghost on paranormal reality TV. But the trio has been considering what their legacy might be on the entertainment genre and the paranormal community at large.
In an interview with Den of Geek’s paranormal pop culture show Talking Strange, the trio discussed the latest 10-episode season — which kicks off Jan. 20 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt on Travel Channel, and same day on the discovery+ streaming service — as well as what they hope their lasting contribution to the ghosthunting world might be.
Since its premiere in 2016 on Destination America and TLC, where it aired concurrently before moving to Travel Channel in 2019, Kindred Spirits has focused on haunted people before locations. Throughout the course of an episode, Bruni and Berry, both executive producers and alums of the Ghost Hunters franchise,...

Channel 4 news anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy has apologised “unreservedly” to Northern Ireland minister Steve Baker for calling him a “c***” in what he called an “unguarded moment”.
The broadcaster said the remark followed a “robust interview” with Mr Baker but it was “beneath the standards I set myself”.
During an off-air moment after his interview with Mr Baker, Mr Guru-Murthy was heard on a livestream saying “what a c***”.
He later tweeted: “After a robust interview with Steve Baker MP I used a very offensive word in an unguarded moment off air.
“While it was not broadcast that word in any context is beneath the standards I set myself and I apologise unreservedly.
“I have reached out to Steve Baker to say sorry.”
Mr Baker later replied to the tweet accepting the apology. “I appreciate you apologising. Thank You,” he wrote.

Bringing the literary work of Stephen King to life on the big screen is incredibly difficult. King's novels are layered with complex characters, unique locations, and downright bizarre stories. But Frank Darabont seems to have found the right formula. The director responsible for "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Mist" also brought one of King's most impactful works to life while earning a Best Picture Oscar nomination.
King, always on the cusp of publishing trends, released "The Green Mile" in 1996 as a six-part serial novel. It is told through the eyes of Great Depression-era death row prison guard Paul Edgecomb, but it is ultimately the story of John Coffey. Coffey is a mountainous, simple-yet-magical Black man wrongly accused of raping and killing two young white girls. Coffey faces the barbarous racism of the 1930s South while grappling with being cursed with a healing touch.

Frank Darabont created a heckuva conundrum for himself when his feature directing debut, "The Shawshank Redemption," wound up becoming one of the most beloved movies of all time. For starters, he joined an elite fraternity of filmmakers who'd hit the bullseye with a difficult-to-adapt Stephen King story. More troublesome, King had just launched into another prison yarn, one that begged to become a motion picture. One that fit Darabont like a bespoke suit.
"The Green Mile" was a publishing event in 1996. Between March and August, King released a new, slender volume imparting the tragedy of John Coffey, a gentle giant wrongfully consigned to Death Row for the rape and murder of two girls. Unlike "The Shawshank Redemption," this serialized story contained the kind of mystical elements one expects from a King novel. Coffey is not only the opposite of a killer, he is a saint possessed of healing powers. King...
