We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Once Upon a Time, Castle, Bones and The Vampire Diaries!
1 | Who would win in a light fight: Once Upon a Time‘s Emma or True Blood‘s Sookie? Also, does the below photo confirm, as we suspected while watching the scene, that Giancarlo Esposito worked opposite a Lana Parrilla stand-in? (Perhaps due to scheduling issues?) And just how long did it take Elsa to walk from the town line (in the evening) to...

It takes a gutsy TV pilot to build to a closing scene of an adorable teenage boy getting his leg amputated — and then to sell it as a moment that’s as soaring as it is heartbreaking.
But Red Band Society — a freshman drama that initially looks like over-boiled broccoli but tastes like delicious pizza — has concocted a recipe that, while not entirely perfect, manages to cut its saccharine undertones with acidic punchlines and a complex, meditative view of mortality that’s worth the price of the two or three Kleenex required to get to the closing credits.

30 years ago, it was “Goonies never say die!” 20 years ago, it was “Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame!” And 10 years ago, it was “There’s some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for!” Now, Sean Astin has a new rally cry for us: “Remember the Sultana!” That phrase goes with a documentary in the works called Sultana, and the actor is an executive producer on the project. It’s mostly the passion of Astin’s longtime friend, producer Mark Marshall, who he met on the set of The Goonies. But the two of them are united on screen promoting the film in the campaign video for a crowdfunding venture launched last month. It’s at Kickstarter, where their goal is $75k to go towards filming and post-production costs. “Voiceover Talent” is apparently a large part of that pie, which might in part mean for Astin himself. He’s set to narrate the history doc...

It’s easy to deride American Reunion for being a needless sequel or cash grab. After all, we’re thirteen years on from the first film and in that time we’ve had bad direct sequels, trips to band camps, and straight to DVD spin-offs (which honestly aren’t as bad as you think they’d be). Fortunately, writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are at least somewhat aware of the uphill battles they face in making this movie palatable to both new audiences and those of us who remember MILFs and pie sex from the good old days of ’99. For example, the film takes place in 2012 and their 13 Year Reunion. There’s a joke about missing the tenth, which is just a fun little nod to the absurdity of revisiting this franchise now. Returning in large roles is the entirety of the male cast: Jason Biggs as Jim, Seann William Scott as Stifler, Chris Klein...

The Us release of American Reunion, the fourth (genuine) instalment in the American Pie series, is just around the corner, and we’ve been seeing nothing but great things from the film in recent months.
Last week brought with it a host of clips and images, as well as a new featurette, and now we have a new red-band trailer and another great new featurette to share with you, via Collider and Yahoo Movies, respectively.
“In the comedy American Reunion, all the American Pie characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t and that time and distance can’t break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed,...

We got a host of brilliant clips and images this week from American Reunion, the fourth instalment in the original American Pie series, and now we have a great and nostalgic new featurette that takes a look inside the film, interviewing the cast and the co-directors/-writers.
The only way a return like this could have worked is by getting all the original cast back, which is exactly what they’ve done! Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Mena Suvari, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nichols, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Shannon Elizabeth, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge, and the (excellent) John Cho will all be reprising their roles, with 30 Rock’s Katrina Bowden and Heroes’ Dania Ramirez rounding out the new additions to the cast

American Reunion served up its first slice of pie for the fourth film in the (original) American Pie series with the first red-band trailer back in October, and if you were a fan of the first three like me, you’ll have loved that first look at the film.
We’ve seen nothing but brilliant things since – including an excellent first poster, and most recently a new trailer last month – and now we have five new clips and two-dozen new images to share with you.

Who would’ve thought the American Pie franchise would stick around as long as it has? More importantly, who would’ve thought sentiment and nostalgia would play such an important part in one of the films? Don’t worry, thought. The laughs are still packed in, too.
The gang’s all back as the time-honored tradition of the high school reunion rolls around, forcing all our friends from the past to confront the many changes they’ve gone through as the years passed. In addition to encountering the new breed of teenagers, they face yet another new chapter in their lives as they compare their reality to the dreams they had when the number one priority was losing their virginity while still appearing cool.
Of course, for me, the ultimate reason for going to see American Reunion is to find out exactly what happens when Stifler’s mom meets Jim’s dad…...

It's been nine years since the teenage boy who screwed an apple pie got married to Alyson Hannigan, and if you were wondering what's happened to him since - wonder no more. The fourth (and final?) installment in the "official" American Pie canon (not counting the direct-to-dvd crap) hits theaters on April 6th and gives us a chance to check in with Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nichols, and Eddie Kaye Thomas to see where life has taken them. The trailer for American Reunion went live today, and if it does anything well it's that it assures us that they intend to maintain the franchise's brand of raunchy humor. Check it out below.

Universal has just released its all new international trailer for American Reunion, the fourth movie in the American Pie franchise, directed by Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg. The film brings back the entire cast from the first American Pie movie, which has the characters coming back for a high school reunion. The trailer features a couple of new scenes from the movie that we haven’t seen in previous trailers and since this is an international trailer, it is a bit more raunchy than its predecessors.
Check out the international trailer for Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg’s American Reunion.
I can’t wait to see how our characters have “changed” since audiences saw Jim get married in the sleeper hit American Wedding. Honestly, the jokes and raunchiness may feel the same, but it still riles up a few laughs. Hopefully the entire movie will do so too.

High school reunions are moments in our lives to either rekindle good times or remind many of how dreadful life as a teenager was. But most of the time it’s all about keeping score. Who’s married, who’s divorced, who’s pregnant, how many kids, who wants to drink, who’s trying to stay sober, who’s still single, who’s looking to get reunion sex, who’s still stuck in high school and yes, who has grown up?
Of the above, is there any question as to what American Reunion is going to be about? Are you sure about that? Everybody’s back in East Great Falls from the Class of ’99–seriously, Everybody– and there’s someone who is looking to get some. No, it’s not Oz, and it’s not Jim. See the trailer to find out who check out the official synopsis below.

With Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nichols, Eugene Levy and the rest of the American Pie regulars set to return, the cast of American Reunion, the fourth installment in the American Pie franchise, is expanding.
Deadline reports that Jay Harrington (Better Off Ted) and Ali Cobrin (The Hole) have joined the cast. Harrington will play the doctor boyfriend of Mena Suvari's character and Cobrin will play a high school senior looking to give away her virginity to the perfect guy. While we're sure that Stifler (Scott) will try his best to prove his worth, so might Chuck Hittinger.
Variety reports Hittinger (Pretty Little Liars) has been cast as Marco, a high school jock and bully who doesn't treat his girlfriend well. Could Hittinger's girlfriend be Cobrin? It's likely, but unconfirmed.
Katrina Bowden (30 Rock, the upcoming Piranha 3Dd) has also joined the cast, Variety reports separately.

If you're an attractive, 18-20 year old female who is willing to take her top off on film, you probably don't read this site. Even so, it's not pointless to let you all know that Universal is having a open casting call to fill the lead role of "Kara" in the upcoming American Pie sequel [1], American Reunion. The April 6, 2012 release [2] will get the whole band back together (Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nichols, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eugene Levy, you get the drift) as they return home for their 10 year high school reunion. And when they get back, they'll encounter the aforementioned Kara. However, the casting call does give a pretty good description of the role which spills some minor details about the movie [3]. Read those and - in the unlikely case you are a girl described above - find out...

[1] Universal's been saying for a while now that the entire American Pie gang would be returning for American Reunion, and what do you know, they're actually making good on that promise. Thomas Ian Nichols has just signed on for the fourth theatrical entry of the long-running American Pie franchise, making him the last major character to sign on. Fellow Pie stars Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Eugene Levy have all previously confirmed their involvement. I haven't heard any news on whether Jennifer Coolidge might be reprising her role as the original Milf, but as The Hollywood Reporter calls Nichols the "last holdout," I'm guessing that's a no. We'll miss you, Stifler's Mom! In the 1999 film, Nichols' Kevin Myers was one of the four central friends who made a pact to lose their virginity before graduation. The new sequel...

[1] Chris Klein has become the latest actor to sign on for American Reunion, the upcoming American Pie sequel that sees the gang returning to their hometown for their ten-year high school reunion. Reunion has already signed Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Eugene Levy [2] and Alyson Hannigan [3]; other members of the original cast, including Thomas Ian Nichols, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are still negotiating their roles. Klein, as you may recall, played Oz, a lacrosse player who falls for Suvari's Heather in the first movie. In Reunion, Oz has become [4] a big shot with a Malibu mansion and a girlfriend who seems to be a gold-digger. [MovieWeb [5]] After the jump, new projects for Marilyn Manson and Pacey Witter Joshua Jackson. Is this the most '90s installment of Casting Bits ever? Seeing as there are currently three separate Charles Manson projects in development, it was probably only a matter...

It’s been over ten years since teen sex comedy American Pie became the Porky’s of the 21st century and after countless number of sequels and further straight-to-dvd outings, Universal are getting the original band back together for one last orgy.
The Hollywood Reporter say Seann William Scott (Stiffler) Jason Biggs (Jim) and Eugene Levy (Jim’s Dad) are now officially on board to star in American Reunion, known by Universal insiders as American Pie 4 (conveniently forgetting the latter day sequels), and that it’s hoped will bring back the principal players from the popular original.
Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nichols and Jennifer Coolidge are all in talks to join them soon.. and presumably Alyson Hannigan and Shannon Elizabeth will soon follow.
Harold & Kumar creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will direct the script they wrote and I guess, for people in their mid 20′s like me,...

What do you get when you cross Harold & Kumar with American Pie? Sounds like we may just find out very soon. Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the duo who created the two Harold & Kumar movies (which grossed $56.4 million in the U.S. and cleaned up in DVD sales), have signed on to direct a big-screen reboot of the American Pie franchise, set to be titled American Pie 4, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Apparently Hurwitz and Schlossberg are already hard at work on the American Pie 4 script, which they are penning, but the storyline is being kept under wraps.

It was definitely ladies' night on red carpet for "Please Give" on Friday at the Eccles Theater in Park City. Attending the premiere with director Nicole Holofcener were stars Catherine Keener, Amanda Peet, Rebecca Hall and Sarah Steele. Co-stars Oliver Platt and Thomas Ian Nichols were also there.
In "Please Give", Holofcener examines the awkward dynamic of a New York couple (Keener and Platt) waiting for their elderly neighbor to die so they can take over her apartment an knock down the walls. Things get more complex as they get to know their neighbor's quirky daughters (Peet and Hall) and their own teenage daughter (Steele) is brought in to the mix.

One of my favorite things to do in Seriously Random Lists, inexplicably, is to look back at forgotten actors and actresses who, inexplicably, fell into the cracks of the Hollywood studio system and, essentially, disappeared -- I call it the Rae Dawn Chong Effect (formerly the Shelley Long Effect). We're dealing here with only a decade in time, so most of these names -- I suspect -- will still be familiar to most of you, and a few of them still exist on the fringes. But if you compare where they were during the first half of the decade with where they ended up, it's clear that the Rae Dawn Chong Effect has taken hold, and soon they, too, will completely fall into the rabbit hole, never to be seen again, except in straight-to-dvd offerings and as patients in medical dramas.
