One of the most anticipated events of the season, the annual Hot Pink Party was hosted by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (Bcrf) on Wednesday, May 15 at the Park Avenue Armory, raising $6 million for breast cancer research.

Bcrf has been deeply involved in every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship; since the establishment of Bcrf 25 years ago, breast cancer mortalities in the U.S. have declined by nearly 40 percent. As the top breast cancer charity in the U.S., Bcrf raises more money for metastatic research – and breast cancer research in general–than any other private funder in the world.

Now that the scramble of the first episode is over, where there are too many contestants to remember all of their names and everyone is trying too hard to broadcast their personalities, we can start to settle in to the 10th season of Project Runway. I was a little disappointed with the challenge of the first episode — make a companion piece to a design they’d already made? Boooring, at least for a first challenge. I mean, the designers showed some great looks, but what about the kooky challenges where they have to make dresses out of vegetables or something, to show which ones can be excellent and creative under pressure? It’s Project Runway! I want to see people freak out and make crazy shit!
Alas, let’s see what this second episode will bring. It starts with the designers throwing some shade at the Atlas apartments.

It's week two on Project Runway, and the competition is well under way. Waking up in their apartments at the Atlas, the contestants reflect on last week's challenge which saw Beatrice head home. There's not much time for discussion, however, as it's time to hear what this week's challenge is all about. Meeting at the runway, Heidi congratulates the group for surviving the first task. She also reveals that Christopher, as the winner of last week's task, will have immunity this week, much to his delight. The group then heads over to Dylan's Candy Bar to meet Tim and the shop's CEO Dylan Lauren (the daughter of Ralph Lauren, of all people). It's that time again: the unconventional materials challenge. Everything in the sweets shop is available for the designers to work with - over 7,000 candies from around the world! They've got a (more)...

Michael Costello, designer and former ‘Runway’ contestant, gives us a Hilarious insider’s view on the unconventional challenge! Read on for his recap right here. Last night’s episode was a tasty one this week, as the designers were asked to create a look made out of candy for their first, (and everyone's favorite), "the unconventional challenge." I have to say, I love these challenges on Project Runway! You can really see what the designers can do -- and what makes them go crazy. Guest judging this episode is the beautiful Dylan Lauren, daughter of the fashion legend Ralph Lauren and owner of Dylan's candy bar! Back in the work room, designers are slaving away like oompa loompa's in the Willy Wonka work room! While working I notice that there seems to be a bully in the workroom -- and no it’s not Veruca Salt wanting candy from her daddy,...

"He's a sweet talkin, sugarcoated candyman."
It takes a special guy to make me go the full Aguilera.
Episode Two of Season Ten of Project Runway aired last night, and it was the ... oh dear ... the "unconventional materials" challenge. These can sometimes be fun, but they can also be a disaster (remember the Gristedes grocery store debacle?), and the designers are usually just happy to get it over with.
This time they had $500 to spend at Dylan's Candy Bar, a sweet shop owned by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph Lauren). Their challenge is to make a look made out of candy, using anything in the store.
So which designers were Red Hots, which were sour Lemonheads, and which were disgusting Christmas ribbon candy? Let's take a look at some highlights.
If you say his name three times in a mirror, he'll appear ... and devour you.

The unconventional material challenge is always a "Project Runway" favorite, so watching the latest group of designers try to turn sweets from Dylan's Candy Bar into gorgeous couture outfits in Season 10's second episode was a treat. (Pun intended. Sorry.)
When Tim Gunn told the designers that they'd be buying their materials from the New York City candy store, owned by Dylan Lauren (daughter of designer Ralph Lauren), he didn't really explain the connection between candy and fashion. Actually, it seemed a little counter-intuitive (candy adds Pounds, guys), but since watching the designers freak out and then craft super cool dresses from the strange materials is always entertaining, we'll allow it. Besides, it also provided several "models eating candy" shots, which is always jarring. They're just like us, y'all!

The White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington DC on Saturday night was a star-studded affair and the political fun continued at an afterparty thrown by Bloomberg and Vanity Fair. Famous faces from the big and small screens, music world, and more came out for the glamorous annual event, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. President Barack Obama also gave a funny speech, which Martha Stewart apparently appreciated since she tweeted, "A+ to Jimmy Kimmel and President Obama - great speeches, funny, smart and just disrespectful enough." Chace Crawford joined his sister Candice and her husband Tony Romo for the evening out while Elizabeth Banks hung out with Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Rashida Jones.
