I am a sucker for a good old-fashioned brawl between Wolverine and Sabretooth. They are actually few and far between when compared to other great comic book rivalries. Here is hoping that this is one for the ages! Just as a bug that is affecting all X-books at the moment is the timing. Again the cover carries the ‘Fall of X’ banner and on the credits page we get a caption explaining this story takes place after X-Force #50 and before the new Powers and House of X books. I have said before how wider continuity doesn’t bother me too much when it comes to reading Wolverine, but it can just take you out of the moment every now and then. It’s a minefield when you consider ‘Sabretooth War...

A new Hellboy is on the way courtesy of one of the mad minds behind the Crank series. Brian Taylor, one-half of the Taylor/Neveldine directing partners, is helming the new adaptation Hellboy: The Crooked Man. This will be the third feature film incarnation of the Dark Horse comic after Guillermo Del Toro‘s two films, with Ron Perlman in the role, and the 2019 reboot with David Harbour. Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has recently confirmed on his Instagram account that the principle photography on Hellboy: The Crooked Man has wrapped.
Mignola’s post consists of an image from the comic and he writes,
“So they’ve wrapped principal photography on the new Hellboy movie.
I wasn’t on set for this one but they have been nice enough to send me dailies and I have to say I have loved what I’ve been seeing. If fans have been waiting...

I hardly ever regret buying a comic, but this was one of those times. I think what made it feel worse was the fact I missed the original release date, and then had my Lcs backorder me a copy. How Marvel can market this firstly as an #1 and secondly as a Wolverine comic is beyond me. It represents everything that is wrong with mainstream comics right now. The Wolverine solo series has been pretty much faultless since its return, so obviously with this Murderworld series, it’s a classic case of using popular characters to push another series. And I fell for it hook, line and sinker. The cover drew me in straight away with its variations of Wolverine through the years. Yes, I am an easy mark! But that is...

It doesn't feel like all that long ago we were getting ready for a "Hellboy" reboot from director Neil Marshall ("The Descent") with David Harbour, of "Stranger Things" fame, in the title role. Harbour looked great, the cast had a lot of promise, and yet, the film flopped spectacularly when it debuted in 2019 both critically and commercially. Be that as it may, Millennium Media is going to give it another try with an R-rated, horror-skewing take on the Dark Horse Comics character in the form of "Hellboy: The Crooked Man." And, for better or worse, it seems very much like it's going to be a lower budget affair, particularly as comic-book movies go.
Even 2019's "Hellboy" only carried a reported $50 million budget, which is modest compared to say a Marvel movie, which can easily cost close to $200 million these days. But we have some evidence that suggests Millennium is going...

Kesy is best known for playing Black Tom in Deadpool 2, and for movies WB’s 12 Strong and Baywatch, as well as series Claws and The Strain.
As previously announced, Brian Taylor (Crank) will be directing with a script penned by Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola and Chris Golden.
The movie, which is due to shoot in coming months, will see Hellboy stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia with a rookie Bprd agent. There they discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man.
Additional casting is in the works.

I made the decision to review both issues of Wolverine that tie into X of Swords as one post, and as we are now going into a second lockdown I’m not sure how my Lcs will be operating. So this week I will be catching up and giving a review of X-Force having recently picked up the first trade paperback. As this trade collects the first six issues, which are nearly a year old there will be spoilers…

Marvel's X-Men trailer reveals what's next for everyone's favorite mutants.
With House of X and Powers of X steaming towards their close, Marvel is starting to ramp up its promotion of the post-relaunch event X-Men line of comics. They've relased a teaser trailer for the "Dawn of X" lineup of books- X-Men, Marauders, Excalibur, New Mutants, X-Force, and Fallen Angels - that is mostly covers but has a handful of preview images. If you're anything like me, you are freeze framing the video to try and suss out clues about the end of HoXPoX from the preview art. Because I value your time, I went ahead and did that for you.
The first book featured is the flagship X-title, X-Men, from Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Francis Yu (most recently the penciler of Ta-Nehisi Coates' very good Captain America relaunch). The preview art consists of the Summers family reunion cover,...

From Domino to Cable to Julian Dennison’s Firefist, it’s no secret that Deadpool 2 upped its star power quite considerably, and nowhere is this more apparent than [redacted]’s surprise cameo.
The David Leitch sequel is currently playing across theaters worldwide – and doing gangbusters, we might add – and as part of Empire’s spoiler-filled special, lead star Ryan Reynolds has weighed in on the addition of Black Tom Cassidy, whose role was a lot smaller than initially expected.
Turns out the Powers That Be over at 20th Century Fox had something to do with downsizing Jack Kesy’s screen time, as Reynolds admits that his original role would have meant Deadpool 2 running over budget.
“Black Tom was just in the movie as a supervillain who has incredible powers and all sorts of stuff. It was the f*cking studio that said ‘You guys are over budget, you can’t afford this.

It’s no secret that David Leitch and his writing team trimmed a lot of material from Deadpool 2 – hell, word is Ryan Reynolds was tinkering with the sequel’s punchlines right up until the 11th hour – and sure enough, the director has now confirmed that Fox’s inevitable Blu-ray release will feature close to 20 minutes’ worth of deleted scenes.
Chatting to Collider, Leitch spoke candidly about Deadpool 2‘s handling of Nathan Summers (Aka Cable), the surplus of X-Force characters, and the amount of additional footage that was sentenced to the floor of the editing room.
We’re already learned that David Leitch and Fox plan to unleash the extended cut at some point in the future, but here, the former confirms just how much material we can expect.
This is just ballpark…but I would say around 20 minutes [of additional material].
But will 20th Century Fox allow Leitch and his team to release all 20 minutes?...

Vanessa is only one of the many loves of Wade Wilson's life. For a guy who looks like an avocado, Deadpool gets around.
In the first Deadpool movie, one of the jokes in the marketing portrayed it as a love story to tie in with the fact that it came out just before Valentine's Day. It's not exactly lying as Wade's actions are all motivated by love.
Sure, he may look like a sculpture made of dried bubble gum and he has some serious personality problems, but Wade Wilson has a lengthy list of love interests over the years. The sense of humor and abs probably help. He's been married a handful of times. The guy gets around. Let's take a look at the ladies of his life who could look past his skin texture.
