- While working as a morning radio personality at WRQN in Toledo, OH, he was once buried alive for 48 hours to raise money for the Toledo Public Schools.
- Is a co-owner of Cinemas Palme d'Or in Palm Desert, CA, one of the most successful high-end commercial/arthouses in the country. Two time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston is among his partners in the project.
- Is known for 2 memorable Olympic play-by-play calls. In 2002, he called Jim Shea's Gold medal run in the Skeleton at the Salt Lake Games for Westwood One. Then in 2004 for NBC, he did play-by-play on the Men's Air Rifle when American Matthew Emmons lost the Gold medal by shooting at the wrong target with his final attempt.
