Daniel Radcliffe is speaking out about his career ties to “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling.
Tony-nominated actor Radcliffe has previously assured franchise fans that Rowling’s transphobic remarks are in no way indicative of the “Potter” actors’ own sociopolitical views. Now, Radcliffe is untangling the nuances of Rowling’s legacy.
“It makes me really sad, ultimately, because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic,” Radcliffe told the Atlantic, while also confirming he has had no direct contact with Rowling since her tweets in June 2020.
Radcliffe explained that his career “would not have happened without” Rowling, saying, “nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person.”

Jon Snow won’t be coming back to life (again) anytime soon: Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington says HBO’s planned spinoff centered on Jon Snow is no longer in active development.
“In development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it’s worth it. And currently, it’s not,” Harington told ScreenRant while doing press for his movie Blood for Dust. “Currently, it’s off the table, because we all couldn’t find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being.

During its two-season run on HBO, “Euphoria” has launched its young cast into superstardom and won multiple Emmys, while also being a magnet for controversy — but whatever lies ahead for the Sam Levinson-created show is going to have to wait.
Earlier this week, HBO officially delayed the drama, which was set to begin production later this spring. “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
What the network isn’t saying is that no one at HBO is at all sure a third season of “Euphoria” will ever come to fruition given the disparate visions for the show’s next chapter. But “Euphoria” has been invaluable to the network — attracting the often-elusive millennial and Gen Z viewers, as well as massive ratings — and executives from Casey Bloys...

Fans of “Euphoria” will have to wait even longer for a third season.
Season 3 has been plagued with all sorts of false starts. Last we officially heard, in May 2023, HBO drama chief Francesca Orsi said the third season was expected to air in 2025. However, a new statement from the network announced that production has been delayed.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” a representative for HBO told IndieWire. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
“Euphoria” marked breakout roles for Zendaya (who has won two Emmy Awards for her portrayal of teen drug addict Rue), Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Dominic Fike, Barbie Ferreira, Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo, and the late Angus Cloud, who died in 2023. Season 2 concluded in February 2022. Sweeney recently told MTV at SXSW that she was “going into ‘Euphoria'” production next.

Filming for Euphoria season three has been put on hold.
The Sam Levinson drama was expected to start production soon on its long-awaited new season. But that plan has changed to give Levinson more time to work on the dark teen drama’s scripts.
In addition, the show’s cast — which includes Dune: Part Two star Zendaya and Anyone but You star Sydney Sweeney — is being allowed to pursue other opportunities.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” HBO said in a statement. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
That said, the cast has not been released from their contracts, and HBO still intends to get Euphoria season three on the air sometime in 2025.
In an interview with Elle for Zendaya’s September 2023 cover story, Levinson had teased the new season as a “film noir,” saying Zendaya’s...

Nicole Kidman said in a recent interview with Elle magazine that her daughter, Sunday Rose, was partly responsible for getting “Big Little Lies” Season 3 off the ground. She demanded another season after finishing Season 2 and even had some criticisms to share about her mother’s character arc.
“My daughter is the one who watched both of the series and went, ‘Okay, there’s just no question, there has to be a third,’” Kidman said, adding that Sunday gave her notes on character development. “She’s like, ‘Celeste, she’s not coping in the second one, what is she doing? I could kind of see the point of view of Mary Louise.’”

Will Samwell Reunite With Jon Snow? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
John Bradley, known for portraying Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones, suggests the potential for reuniting with Kit Harington in the speculated Jon Snow spinoff series. Despite the widespread acclaim garnered by the HBO fantasy series, which aired from 2011 to 2019, and the success of its prequel House of the Dragon, concrete developments regarding the Jon Snow spinoff have yet to materialize since rumors emerged in 2021.
During an interview with ComicBook.com, Bradley discussed his upcoming Netflix series “3 Body Problem” and, when questioned about the possibility of definitive proof of alien life versus a reunion between Sam and Jon, opted not to commit to either scenario. Nonetheless, he did not dismiss the possibility of appearing in the spinoff, leaving fans with an open-ended opportunity.

HBO’s The White Lotus may be an anthology, but that doesn’t mean we’re done seeing characters from past seasons. Jennifer Coolidge returned as Tanya McQuoid in season 2 after becoming a fan favorite in the show’s first season. And now Natasha Rothwell, who played White Lotus staff member and wellness guru Belinda Lindsey alongside Coolidge in season 1, is set to come back for the show’s upcoming third season.
With the announcement of Rothwell’s return, it was revealed by HBO and Max content chairman and CEO Casey Bloys that creator Mike White plans to bring at least one character back each season. This means that any character lucky enough to survive their time at the White Lotus could come back in the future. A bill that could render TikTok banned from new downloads in the United States quickly advanced to the house on Thursday afternoon after a bipartisan committee voted 50-0 for its approval.
The bill, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, was introduced earlier this month by representatives Mike Gallagher and Raja Krishnamoorthi. If enacted, the legislation would block apps owned by TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, from being available in Apple or Google app stores in the U.S.
More specifically, the bill would prohibit apps owned by the Beijing-based company to be downloaded in the United States unless ByteDance divested its applications, including TikTok, within 180 days of the legislation’s enactment. On a broader level, the bill would also allow the White House to — in certain cases — ban access to an app owned by a foreign adversary if the application threatened national security.

Satc, which debuted in 1998, follows the lives of four women living in New York City as they navigate love, friendship and sex in the big city,...

Warner Bros Discovery (Wbd) CEO David Zaslav touted an “attack plan” light on detail for the year ahead as the company missed revenue forecasts in its Q4 earnings – however in one upbeat note the streaming business swung to a $103m profit in 2023.

So, I guess Warner Bros. Discovery is actually serious about this "Harry Potter" reboot series, huh?
The Wizarding World lost a whole lot of its glamor in the years immediately after "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" brought the saga of The Boy Who Lived to a close on the big screen in 2011. Between her sometimes exasperating additions to the franchise's lore, her constant attempts to insist the "Harry Potter" books are more inclusive than they really are, and her muddled efforts to continue the property in film form with her underwhelming "Fantastic Beasts" scripts, J.K. Rowling spent most of the 2010s burning through the goodwill she had amassed faster than a Golden Snitch whizzing around the Quidditch field. This was all before she damaged her legacy for good with her openly transphobic rhetoric and behavior, which reportedly includes donating £70,000 to an anti-trans group's battle over the legal...

It seems the way Issa López has handled True Detective as a writer/director has pleased HBO. That’s why the crime anthology has been renewed for a fifth season, with the Mexican director taking over as showrunner once again. (López also inked an overall contract with the network.)
Fans of the highly regarded series can now finally relax and get ready for another exciting season of murder, mystery, and intrigue after much excitement and anticipation. “Can’t blame me.” Those are the words of Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of True Detective, in response to a post on social media criticizing season four of the HBO anthology, the first cycle in which he has had no direct involvement. That tweet, as well as reposts of messages by the viewers critical of the new season, raises the question of what the show’s original creator has been up to since he left the series.

Wbd CEO David Zaslav finds himself in a precarious position as he tries to strike a balance in licensing content from his streaming platform.
Despite financial improvements at Warner Bros. Discovery over the past year as CEO David Zaslav has cut and licensed his way to modest streaming profits, some industry onlookers still believe that the company is leaving money on the table by only taking half measures when it comes to its current content library. Wells Fargo analyst Steven Cahall, who leads a team of analysts that was responsible for issuing a downgrade on Wbd’s stock rating this week and causing a corresponding drop in the company’s share price, believes that there are billions of dollars being left unrealized by Wbd retaining streaming exclusivity for some of its brand’s biggest titles.

Since the silent era, a century’s worth of movies has told us how to love, how to die, how to dress, how to behave. But things have changed a lot since the silent era, which raises the question: Are movies still vital to our lives? Are they still at the core of our cultural life? Do they still matter?
Beyond Hollywood’s scrambled economics, one of the biggest threats to its hegemony is social media — TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and X-formerly-known-as-Twitter — with which it has always had an uncomfortable relationship, alternately its victim or master. Thanks to the gravitational pull of social media, as well as the pandemic and two strikes, the studios and theaters have endured a disastrous stretch, and even the streamers, after enjoying a several decades-long honeymoon (the so-called era of “Peak TV”), started to falter. A dense fog of doom and gloom settled over the industry.

Jacob Elordi knows he can’t pull off playing a high schooler much longer.
The “Priscilla” and “Saltburn” star said during “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” that to return to the high school halls for “Euphoria” Season 3 would require a bit of VFX magic…or a time jump. The Sam Levinson-created series is expected to return for a third installment in 2025 after Season 2 aired in 2022. The series debuted in June 2019 and has since landed 25 Emmy nominations and nine Emmy wins.
“I’m going to have a bad back walking down the hallway,” Elordi joked, saying the series will have to return “soon” or “they’ll have to Benjamin Button me or something.”
Elordi was referencing David Fincher’s 2008 film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which won the VFX Oscar for de-aging Brad Pitt as the reverse aging title character.
As for “Euphoria,” Elordi added of a possible time jump for the show,...

Jacob Elordi name-dropped a surprising Hollywood star who is a fan of Euphoria.
While making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, the actor revealed a big name who once approached him in a club gushing about the hit HBO show.
“The biggest one is Leonardo DiCaprio. Which sounds like a crazy name drop. And it is a crazy name drop,” he said. “He came up to me in a club one time when I was sort of much younger… and he’s like, ‘The shot in the first season, you know the shot where you came in.”
“And it’s him and I in the middle of this club talking about camera angles,” Elordi recalled of the interaction. He described DiCaprio as “the G.O.A.T.” of acting.

The head of HBO just provided an update on season three of Euphoria, which isn’t expected to be released until 2025.
Casey Bloys confirmed to Variety that the third season is currently being written and we already know that some stars will not be back.
The exec wouldn’t confirm or deny if season three is the last.
“Obviously the cast have all become stars, which you love to see — and Zendaya is obviously a big movie star,” he said. “So, there is a practical reality to that. But it also depends on the stories Sam wants to tell. He’s in the thick of writing Season 3 right now and we’ll leave it up to him and have those conversations about what he wants to do.”
So, when the show returns, which cast members will be back?

Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David has made clear that season 12 will be the final outing for his long-running HBO comedy. From the sound of things, however, HBO would very much prefer that not be the case.
In a new wide-ranging interview with Variety, HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys discussed the network’s upcoming efforts including The Last of Us season 2, The White Lotus season 3, and yes: the final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. In speaking about Curb‘s swan song, Bloys made clear that HBO would be on standby should David ever change his mind.
“For as long as I’ve been at HBO, we’ve had Curb,” Bloys said. “And it’s always been an open door. And look, even though he’s saying it’s the last season — and I think he has told the story he wants to tell — if in a couple years, he...
